686: Chapter 686 Lu Xueqi and Biyao (65)

Su Han leaped onto the arena stage.

"Ziyang Sect, Su Han."

A murderous intent flashed in Ghost Cry's eyes: "You've finally stepped up. I said I would make you pay the price."

"Enough talk, let's begin." Su Han unsheathed his tianya sword.

"You're looking for death!"

Ghost Cry's figure blurred, transforming into several afterimages attacking from different directions. Each afterimage thrust a sword, each point aimed directly at vital spots.

Su Han circulated his Star Power, pushing his Qingyun Steps to the limit as he wove through the sword shadows. Meanwhile, he swung his tianya sword repeatedly, his sword light forming a net that crushed the incoming Sword Qi one by one.

"Clang, clang, clang, clang—"

The sound of metal clashing rang out incessantly. The two fought with rapid Moves, exchanging dozens of blows in the blink of an eye, leaving the crowd below dazed.

"What a fast sword!"

"That Su Han can actually fight Ghost Cry to this extent; he's truly not simple."

"But Ghost Cry's Heart-Corroding Sword Qi hasn't been fully unleashed yet. Once he uses it, Su Han will surely lose."

On the stage, Ghost Cry grew impatient as his attacks failed to break through. He had thought he could take down Su Han within three Moves, but he hadn't expected the opponent's movement technique to be so eerie and his swordplay so exquisite that he could hold his own until now.

"Heart-Corroding Sword Technique, Third Move — Soul Sever!"

Ghost Cry shouted fiercely, thrusting his longsword. The tip of the sword suddenly erupted with dense black light, transforming into a black venomous snake that bared its fangs and bit toward Su Han's heart.

This strike was extremely fast and its angle was tricky, sealing off all of Su Han's paths of retreat. More terrifyingly, before the sword even arrived, that cold, heart-corroding aura rushed at him, causing Su Han's heart to throb with pain.

"Good timing!"

Su Han didn't dodge or evade, a look of determination flashing in his eyes. After last night's battle with the Black-Robed Person, he had gained a new understanding of the "Star Fall" Move and was just looking for someone to test it on.

"Tianya Nine Swords, First Move — Star Fall!"

The tianya sword shone with brilliant light as Su Han poured all his Star Power into the blade and slashed out. This strike seemed ordinary, yet it contained an indomitable resolve, like a falling star crashing to earth, burning itself to bloom with its final radiance.

"Boom!"

The black snake collided with the sword light, erupting in a deafening explosion. The arena's Formation fluctuated violently, its light flickering uncertainly.

Amidst the surging airwaves, both were blown backward simultaneously. Su Han flipped several times in the air, stumbling back seven or eight steps after landing, a trickle of blood leaking from the corner of his mouth.

Ghost Cry fared worse, being knocked directly off the arena stage and crashing to the ground. A sword wound on his chest was deep enough to see bone, and blood gushed out.

"Impossible... How could you break my Heart-Corroding Sword Qi..." Ghost Cry struggled to get up, but the movement aggravated his injuries, causing him to spit another mouthful of blood before fainting.

The entire field fell silent.

A moment later, a thunderous uproar erupted.

"Ghost Cry lost!"

"That sword strike... what terrifying power!"

"Where did this Su Han come from? Since when did the Ziyang Sect produce such a Genius?"

Disciples of the Heart-Corroding Sword Sect rushed onto the stage to carry Ghost Cry away for treatment. The leading Elder's face was ashen; he glared fiercely at Su Han but didn't dare to lash out in front of everyone.

On the high platform, Venerable Ziyang stroked his beard and smiled, his eyes full of gratification. The Elders of other Sects had varying expressions—some were surprised, some wary, and some had flickering gazes, thinking who knows what.

Su Han suppressed his churning blood and cupped his hands toward the crowd: "Is there anyone else who wishes to provide guidance?"

The people below looked at each other, and for a moment, no one stepped up to challenge. Even Ghost Cry had lost; who else would dare to take the stage easily?

"Since no one challenges, today's defender of the Fifth Arena is Su Han!" the referee announced loudly.

Su Han breathed a sigh of relief and was about to step down to recover when a white-clothed figure suddenly drifted over.

"This humble woman is Yuehua. I ask Young Master Su for guidance."

The voice was soft and pleasant to the ear—it was indeed that White-Clothed Woman from last night. She was still veiled, but her star-like eyes were looking at Su Han with a smile.

Another commotion broke out below.

"It's Fairy Yuehua!"

"I heard she's a Loose Cultivator who won nine consecutive matches on the Fourth Arena yesterday; her strength is unfathomable."

"She's coming to challenge Su Han?"

Su Han was also taken aback, then cupped his hands: "Miss Yuehua, please."

Yuehua gently drew her longsword, the blade shimmering like flowing moonlight, clear and bright: "Young Master Su, be careful."

Before she had even finished speaking, she thrust her sword. This strike seemed soft and slow, yet it reached Su Han in an instant, the tip trembling as it targeted seven major acupoints on his chest.

Su Han didn't dare to be careless and blocked with his tianya sword. With a "clang," the two swords met. Su Han felt a soft yet continuous force transmit through, making his arm go numb.

"What exquisite force control!" Su Han was secretly shocked.

The two fought together. Yuehua's swordplay was light and elegant, like dancing under the moon—beautiful beyond words, yet hidden with killing intent. Every strike pointed toward the flaws in the transitions of Su Han's Moves, forcing him to change his techniques repeatedly.

Su Han grew more shocked as the fight progressed. This woman's swordplay attainment was extremely high, and her grasp of timing was perfect, as if she could predict his every Move. Even stranger, there was a faint, familiar feel to her swordplay.

After fifty Moves, Yuehua suddenly withdrew her sword and retreated, smiling: "Young Master Su's swordplay is superb; I am impressed. How about we call this match a draw?"

Su Han was stunned. Although he hadn't used his full strength, he could see that she had also held back. If it were a true life-and-death struggle, the outcome would be uncertain.

"Miss Yuehua is being modest," Su Han cupped his hands.

Yuehua gave him a deep look, then drifted off the stage and disappeared into the crowd.

Su Han watched her departing figure, his heart filled with even more doubt. Who exactly was this woman? Why did she help him and then challenge him? And what did she mean by "resembling a certain person"?

"Fifth Arena, Su Han has won two matches. Are there any more challengers?" the referee shouted again.

After asking three times, there was no response. Su Han successfully became one of today's arena defenders.

Walking down the stage, Liu Ruyan came forward and handed him a Medicinal Pill: "Take this quickly to heal. You forcibly used that Move just now, and your Meridians have been injured."

Su Han took and swallowed it. A warm current flowed into his limbs and bones, and his injuries immediately improved significantly.

"Thank you, Senior Sister."

"We are fellow Disciples; there's no need for formalities." Liu Ruyan looked at him with a complex expression, "Junior Brother Su, your 'Star Fall' Move just now was powerful, but the burden on your body is too heavy. You shouldn't use it lightly."

"I understand." Su Han nodded.

Just as the two were about to leave, a figure blocked their path.

It was a youth in green robes, about sixteen or seventeen years old, with sharp eyebrows and starry eyes, possessing an extraordinary temperament. An ancient-looking longsword hung at his waist, and he was currently looking at Su Han with a smile.

"Brother Su has excellent swordplay! I am Ye Lingxiao, a Disciple of the Heavenly Sword Sect, and I'd like to make friends with Brother Su."

Su Han sized up the other party. This youth's aura was restrained; his cultivation was at least at the Middle Stage of the Star Palace Realm, and his Foundation was solid. He was definitely no ordinary Disciple.

"Heavenly Sword Sect's Ye Lingxiao?" Liu Ruyan was slightly moved. "Could it be that 'Sword Seed' of the Heavenly Sword Sect?"

"It's just an empty title; Senior Sister Liu, please don't laugh at me." Ye Lingxiao cupped his hands with a humble attitude.

Although Su Han didn't know what "Sword Seed" meant, seeing Liu Ruyan's reaction, he knew the person had quite a background. (End of Chapter)
