512: Woke up again, it was another hallucination!
Suddenly, Su Han abruptly opened his eyes, his chest heaving violently, his forehead covered in cold sweat, soaking the strands of hair at his temples.
The burning sensation from the explosion seemed to linger on his skin, and the numbness of his left arm, having lost all sensation, had not yet faded. But when he subconsciously raised his left hand, he found his arm perfectly intact, without even a single scratch.
He stiffly turned his neck, looking around. There was no smoke-filled battlefield, no shattered bones, and certainly no knights from Blackstone City or White-haired Mage.
What greeted his eyes was the familiar scene of the Dripping Blood Cave.
Dark red stalactites condensed on the cave walls, and drops of water fell from the top, creating tiny ripples in the puddles on the ground, making a "drip, drop" sound. This sound was exceptionally clear in the silent cave, but it also made Su Han's heart grow heavier.
He slowly sat up, his gaze falling beside him.
Bi Yao was sleeping peacefully, her long eyelashes covering her eyelids like two small fans, her breathing even and steady.
She was covered by the jacket Su Han had draped over her earlier, a faint smile still on her lips, as if she were having a sweet dream, completely unaware that the person beside her had just experienced a thrilling "battle."
Su Han reached out, wanting to touch Bi Yao's cheek, but stopped just before making contact.
He looked at his palm, his mind replaying the scenes from the hallucination: the eerie green eye sockets of the skeletal giant, the silver-white Holy Light of the knights, the Necromancer's pitch-black energy sphere, and the final violent explosion... Every image was incredibly clear, so clear that he could barely distinguish reality from illusion.
"Another hallucination..."
Su Han murmured in a low voice, a subtle tremor in his tone.
This was the second time; twice he had fallen into a hallucination, each time feeling as if he was truly present in that world filled with science and magic.
But he knew very well that in this world of Cultivation, there was no such thing as Holy Light or magic beams, and certainly no skeletal giants refined using the power of death.
Those things only existed in his memories from before his Transmigration, elements from the sci-fi movies and fantasy novels he had once read.
Why was this happening?
Su Han frowned, his heart filled with doubt.
Could it be that his mind had a problem?
Su Han shook his head, dismissing the thought.
After his Transmigration to this world, he had always focused on Cultivating, his mind stable, never showing any signs of Qi Deviation. His mental state had always been good, so it was impossible for such realistic hallucinations to appear without reason.
Then could it be a problem with the Dripping Blood Cave?
He turned his gaze to the cave wall, carefully observing his surroundings.
The Dripping Blood Cave was known for its unique geographical environment; the Spiritual Qi inside the cave was richer than outside, and it also contained a special kind of energy.
Could this special energy be affecting his mind, causing him to fall into hallucinations?
But if that were the case, why had Bi Yao been here for so long without experiencing anything abnormal?
Su Han looked at the sleeping Bi Yao, his confusion deepening.
He gently got up and walked to the cave wall, reaching out to touch the cold stone. The sensation from his fingertips was real and clear, and the Spiritual Qi inside the cave flowed slowly; he didn't detect any unusual energy fluctuations.
Su Han fell into deep thought, reviewing all the details of both times he had fallen into hallucinations in his mind, trying to find a connection between them.
Although the content of the two hallucinations was different, they both had one thing in common: they were elements from his memories that did not belong to this Cultivation world.
Moreover, both hallucinations were exceptionally real; whether it was sight, hearing, or touch, there was no difference from reality, and even the sensation of pain was incredibly clear.
"What exactly is at play?"
Su Han muttered to himself, a hint of vigilance flashing in his eyes.
To be able to make him fall into such realistic hallucinations twice, and to accurately extract elements from his memories, the strength of this mastermind must not be underestimated.
What was their purpose?
Were they trying to disturb his mind and affect his Cultivation?
Or was there a deeper conspiracy?
He subconsciously clenched his fist, a strong sense of crisis welling up in his heart.
If he couldn't find the cause of his hallucinations, then the next time he encountered such a situation, he might suffer an accident within the illusion.
Moreover, Bi Yao had always been by his side. If the mastermind were to harm Bi Yao, the consequences would be unimaginable.
Just then, Bi Yao stirred slightly and slowly opened her eyes.
She saw Su Han standing by the cave wall, his face grave, with beads of undried cold sweat on his forehead, and couldn't help but ask with concern:
"Su Han, what's wrong? Are you feeling unwell somewhere?"
Hearing Bi Yao's voice, Su Han came back to his senses, quickly composed his grave expression, walked to her side, and said gently:
"Nothing, just a nightmare that gave me a fright and made me break out in a cold sweat."
He didn't tell Bi Yao about falling into the hallucination; he didn't want her to worry.
Bi Yao sat up, reached out her small hand to wipe the cold sweat from Su Han's forehead, and said softly:
"Are you too tired lately? If you're tired, rest a bit longer. I'll watch over you here."
Looking at Bi Yao's concerned eyes, Su Han felt a warmth in his heart, nodded, and sat back down beside her.
But his thoughts didn't stop; he was still pondering the matter of the hallucinations.
He knew that this matter absolutely could not be left alone. He had to find out the truth as soon as possible, otherwise not only would he be in danger, but he might also implicate those around him. (End of Chapter)
