441: Sword piercing the heart
On the other side of the battlefield, an unusual dead silence permeated the air.
Broken black obelisks, like the remains of dying behemoths, slanted into the ground, with thick, ink-like corrupt energy flowing from deep within their bodies, gathering into gurgling black tides in the earth's ravines.
This corrupt power, like a living, viscous fluid, spread among the broken walls and ruins, silently eroding the already fragile spatial barriers.
Su Han stood at the center of this twisted scene.
The last trace of the blood essence fire, burning to its extreme and capable of incinerating him, was ultimately locked tightly by his formidable will within the palm-sized area of his chest.
Deep within his heart, a furnace, condensed with all his power, all his determination, and all his sacrifices, vibrated frantically, its energy so vast it almost tore through his body, which had reached its limit.
However, the cost was clearly visible—from the core of the heart's flame outwards, his entire upper body, including his shoulders and arms, had already transformed into a translucent, pale golden crystal.
These crystals appeared hard and indestructible, yet every subtle ridge was covered with extremely fine blood threads, which intertwined and flowed, forming a bizarre tableau on the verge of collapse, yet forcibly held in stasis.
The vitality of warm human blood was slowly being replaced and frozen by this cold crystalline structure.
His opponents were directly ahead. Three crystal-skeleton generals, once powerful, had now been completely twisted into Puppets of the corrupt black tide released by the obelisks.
Their massive crystalline bodies were also covered with a greasy, dark red luster, as if they had just crawled out of a corrupt swamp.
The previously discernible humanoid structures were further collapsing and mutating, with crystal bones piercing through their skin, and more, sharper, monstrous barbs growing savagely at their joints.
The cores beating in their chests no longer shimmered with the light of power; instead, they had become corrupt light spots resembling worms at the bottom of a mire, each pulsation causing the black tide on the ground to subtly surge and emit a viscous gurgling sound.
Their hollow eye sockets were fixed on Su Han, locking onto the pulsating, pale golden flame in his heart, which was as dazzling as a deadly poison to them.
They were the remnants of dead stars, yet this corrupt power had awakened their purest, most greedy instinct for destruction—to devour Su Han, to devour his last spark!
The hunger that locked onto its target, like a tangible ice pick, pierced through the brief dead silence.
“Hah—!”
There was no human language in the roar, only the piercing shriek of crystals grinding and energy surging and compressing the air! The mutated general on the left moved!
Its massive body showed no clumsiness; several lower limbs, entirely composed of twisted crystal barbs, plunged violently into the corrupt black tide beneath it, and with a “bang,” the black tide exploded, and its body shot out like an arrow from a bow!
Its speed was so great that, enveloped in dark red corrupt energy, it left only a crimson afterimage. And its target was Su Han’s head!
Mid-charge, its astonishingly thick left arm suddenly lifted.
The largest dark red crystal barb on its forearm erupted with a dangerous bloody light, and the black lines flowing within the crystal suddenly converged there, with energy highly condensed!
That crystal barb was like a lit blood-colored lamppost, its tip even turning slightly pale due to energy overload!
The air along its trajectory was forcibly torn and compressed, forming a suffocating leading shockwave that first slammed towards Su Han’s face!
Su Han’s body seemed to merge with this corrupt space.
The immense wind pressure stirred the semi-crystallized hair on his forehead, revealing a pair of eyes beneath, burning with pure Battle Intent and devoid of any fear.
Deep within his pupils, there was only the rapidly enlarging “Burning Blood Spear” carrying the aura of destruction.
Time seemed infinitely stretched in his perception.
He could even “see” the subtle spatial ripples at the tip of the spear, rapidly rotating and evaporating due to compressed energy.
Just one-hundredth of a second before the crimson afterimage was about to collide with him—
“Buzz!”
The pale golden crystal-covered muscle on Su Han’s right shoulder contracted violently! The crystal covering his right fist, forearm, and even most of his upper arm instantly erupted with a golden glow far exceeding other parts of his body!
It was not a rounded ball of light, but a blade—formed by the extreme compression of tempered will and power!
His fist was the hilt, his arm the spine of the sword! He himself transformed into a pure gold sword, poised to strike, about to pierce through the darkness!
Instead of retreating, he advanced!
The muscles in Su Han’s waist, hips, and legs exploded with a roar! The remaining, un-crystallized leg muscles unleashed their last human strength.
The ground beneath his right foot cracked and sank in response!
His entire being was like an inverse pale golden lightning bolt, charging directly towards that crimson afterimage tearing through the air, without dodging or evading!
The distance became zero in an instant.
Just a moment before the Burning Blood Spear pierced his head, Su Han’s right fist, now completely transformed into prismatic crystal and shining with dazzling sharpness, broke through the surface with a single point!
