356: Ancient memory fragments
Su Han walked forward, carefully observing the statue. He noticed a circular indentation on the statue's chest, as if something had originally been embedded there.
He looked around and found similar situations with other statues. Some statues held weapons in their hands, but the weapons were missing.
Some statues had halos above their heads, but only an empty hole remained where the halo should be.
"These statues might have been part of some ritual, or perhaps they guard some secrets here."
Su Han said, "We need to be careful. These statues might hide dangers."
They continued walking forward. The passage grew longer and longer, seemingly without end.
Suddenly, a fork appeared ahead. The two passages were identical, making it difficult to choose.
Su Han frowned. He carefully examined the walls and ground of both passages, trying to find clues to determine which path to take.
Bi Yao also looked around. She noticed some faint marks on the wall of the right passage, as if someone had carved something there.
She walked forward and carefully deciphered the marks, finding them to be simple lines that looked like some kind of instruction.
"Su Han, look over here, it seems..."
Bi Yao said, pointing at the wall, "These lines seem to be pointing towards the right passage."
Su Han walked over and looked at the lines, feeling a bit hesitant.
He felt that things wouldn't be that simple; perhaps it was a trap.
But there was no better option at the moment. They could only choose one passage to try.
Ultimately, Su Han decided to follow Bi Yao's suggestion and take the right passage.
They continued along the passage. As they went deeper, the temperature in the passage gradually decreased, and coldness assailed them from all directions.
Bi Yao couldn't help but shiver. Su Han pulled her close, warming her with his body temperature.
After walking for a while, they found a light screen ahead of them. The light screen emitted a soft glow, completely blocking the passage.
Su Han stopped. He felt a powerful force contained within the light screen and did not dare to approach rashly.
He picked up a stone from the ground and threw it towards the light screen.
The moment the stone touched the light screen, it made a crisp sound and was bounced back.
Su Han frowned, thinking about how to pass through this light screen.
Bi Yao walked to the light screen. She reached out her hand and carefully touched it.
When her fingers touched the light screen, she felt a warm force enveloping her fingers. At the same time, some blurry images flashed through her mind, like fragments of ancient memories.
"Su Han, I think I felt something."
Bi Yao said, a strange light flickering in her eyes, "There seems to be some kind of consciousness in this light screen. It's transmitting information to me."
Su Han looked at Bi Yao in surprise. He walked forward and also reached out his hand to touch the light screen.
Indeed, he also felt a powerful force.
At the same time, some blurry voices echoed in his mind. The voices seemed to be narrating an ancient history, but he couldn't hear the specific content clearly.
They both stood in front of the light screen, trying to communicate with the consciousness within it.
As time passed, the light from the light screen grew brighter, and the blurry voices became clearer.
Finally, at a certain moment, Su Han and Bi Yao simultaneously understood the meaning of those voices...
"Only those with pure hearts can pass through this gate!"
Su Han and Bi Yao exchanged glances. They understood that this was a test. (End of Chapter)
