415: Bloodline Son
The Star Map slowly flowed on the ground, each star corresponding to a certain coordinate in reality.
Su Han looked up and found that the starlight echoed the stinging pain in his glabella, as if someone was guiding him with the entire Milky Way.
The residual power of the Erosion Abyss was still surging.
Su Han struggled to prop himself up, discovering that his blood was glowing.
Liquid starlight now flowed through his Meridians, which had been scorched by the star currents, and every step he took left a fleeting silver trail on the ground.
"Be careful!"
Bi Yao's warning suddenly exploded behind him.
Su Han instinctively rolled to dodge, and a black vine covered in barbs pierced through the spot where he had been standing.
Only then did he realize that the entire wasteland was undergoing a strange transformation: the collapsed stone pillar fragments floated up, and patterns identical to the ground's Star Map appeared on their surfaces.
The Nebula vortex suddenly contracted, emitting a sharp shriek like a baby's cry.
The hairs on the back of Su Han's neck stood on end—that sound directly affected his Soul, reminding him of the Soul- 鎮魂鈴 he had seen in the ancestral hall during his childhood.
At this moment, the entire world had become a giant bell, and some entity was striking its wall with stars.
Bi Yao's golden-patterned right arm suddenly burst forth with dazzling light.
She bit her tongue and sprayed blood onto a Talisman, and the burning Phoenix True Flames condensed into a tangible Fire Sword.
"Use this!"
As she threw the Fire Sword to Su Han, he saw the golden patterns on her arm writhing, as if countless tiny eyes were moving beneath her skin.
The moment the sword's edge split the Star Map, the flow of time suddenly slowed.
Su Han saw tiny dark figures imprisoned within each star, extending thorn-like tentacles, trying to pierce through the starlight cage.
When the Fire Sword cut through, these dark figures emitted a shrill shriek, and the severed starlight condensed before him into a series of images:
—On an altar three thousand years ago, an ancestor with a similar injury on his glabella held a Star Map, with human-headed, snake-bodied priests kneeling at his feet;
—In the collapsing star 軌道, countless stars with long tails plunged towards the earth, carving out bottomless ravines;
—A girl with a face similar to Su Han's was pierced through her shoulder blades by chains, yet her eyes emitted a bloody light identical to the Nebula vortex.
"That is."
Su Han's blood suddenly boiled.
The Star Map beneath his feet began to tremble violently, and the stars representing the Seal nodes extinguished one after another.
The sound of decaying chains breaking came from all directions, as if the Seal of the entire world was loosening at this moment.
The heart of the Erosion Abyss suddenly spewed out a black mist, and distorted human faces appeared within the mist.
Su Han recognized all these faces: his father, who had died in battle after guarding the border for twenty years; his cousin, who had sent him a marriage contract only last month; and even the old neighbor who had taken him bird-nesting when he was a child.
Each face was twisting and emitting a sharp laugh, yet the sounds perfectly merged into the same hoarse male voice:
"Son of the Bloodline. It's time to awaken."
Su Han's pupils instantly contracted into vertical slits.
He felt cold fingers touching his spine, tracing along the bone seam that was naturally thicker than an ordinary person's.
When the black mist touched his glabella, the entire wasteland suddenly inverted.
The suspended stone pillar fragments fell one after another, but turned into quicksand the moment they touched the ground, revealing densely packed bronze coffins below.
Su Han looked down and saw the bronze coffins opening, and what emerged from them were not corpses, but swirling masses of star sand.
These star sands condensed in the air into his likeness, hundreds of "Su Han" simultaneously raising their arms, pointing towards the suddenly appearing basalt cliff at the edge of the wasteland.
The Nebula vortex let out its final wail at this moment.
Su Han saw a blurry humanoid figure curled up inside it, the person's face seven-tenths similar to his own, but with two rotating star cores where the eyes should be.
When the star cores turned towards him, the entire world suddenly plunged into absolute darkness.
When he opened his eyes again, Su Han was already standing on the basalt cliff.
The Azure Flame Sword in his hand had, at some unknown point, transformed into a long spear condensed from star sand, its tip pointing towards the giant bronze gate at the end of the cliff, which was covered in Star Maps. (End of Chapter)
