366: Icy cold light
Su Han and Bi Yao stood in place, panting, watching the gradually dissipating shadow figure on the ground, but the tension in their hearts hadn't lessened at all.
The eerie aura emanating from below the stairs grew increasingly intense, like an invisible large hand tightly gripping their throats.
"What on earth is hidden down here..."
Bi Yao's voice trembled, and she unconsciously leaned closer to Su Han.
The Silver Bell in her hand was still gently swaying, emitting a subtle sound, which seemed particularly jarring in this silent and oppressive environment.
Su Han tightly held Bi Yao's hand, trying to convey more strength and comfort. He looked firmly towards the depths of the stairs and said in a deep voice:
"No matter what it is, we'll face it together."
Although he said this, he also understood in his heart that this unknown crisis was likely more troublesome than any difficulty they had encountered before.
The two slowly took steps and continued walking down the stairs. Each step was taken with extreme caution, as if a slight mistake would trigger a fatal mechanism hidden in the dark.
The surrounding temperature continued to drop, and the coldness rushed up from the soles of their feet, making their bodies tremble slightly.
Su Han let out a breath, and a cloud of white mist immediately appeared before his eyes, quickly dissipating in the dim light.
As they gradually went deeper, the light of the runes on the stair walls became dimmer, while the eerie aura surged like a tide.
Suddenly, a low roar came from not far ahead. The sound echoed continuously in the narrow stair passage, making their eardrums ache.
Bi Yao covered her ears in fear, while Su Han vigilantly shielded her behind him, his eyes fixed on the direction the sound came from.
"Bi Yao, get ready."
Su Han said in a low voice, and the Spirit Energy in his hand began to gather again.
Although the previous battle with the shadow figure had greatly consumed his Spirit Energy, at this moment he had no other choice but to go all out.
After a moment, a huge figure slowly appeared in their field of vision.
It was a massive Monster, more than two people tall, covered in black scales that gleamed with a cold light.
Its eyes were like two burning green flames, emitting an eerie glow.
The Monster's mouth was filled with sharp fangs, each the size of a dagger.
As it roared, saliva dripped continuously from between its fangs, landing on the ground with a "sizzling" sound, instantly corroding small pits.
Su Han gasped, secretly groaning in his heart.
The strength of this Monster seemed far to exceed the monsters they had encountered before. With his and Bi Yao's current condition, defeating it would be far from easy.
But he did not back down; instead, a resolute fighting spirit surged in his eyes.
The Monster seemed to have sensed the presence of Su Han and Bi Yao. It let out an even louder roar and lunged towards them.
Su Han quickly sidestepped, pushed Bi Yao to the side, and at the same time, the Spirit Energy in his hand flared brightly, blasting towards the Monster's head.
The Spirit Energy blast hit the Monster but was like a stone sinking into the sea, only splashing a shower of sparks on its scales. The Monster didn't even pause for a moment and continued to lunge at Su Han.
Seeing this, Bi Yao quickly shook the Silver Bell in her hand.
The clear sound of the bell rang out in the passage, and the Monster's movements seemed to be slightly affected, its speed slowing down slightly.
Su Han seized the opportunity to roll, dodging the Monster's pounce, while simultaneously thinking of a countermeasure in his heart.
He discovered that the Monster's scales were exceptionally hard, and ordinary Spirit Energy attacks could not cause any substantial damage to it at all.
Just then, the Monster attacked again, slamming its thick front claw down towards Su Han.
Su Han didn't have time to dodge and could only cross his arms, protecting his body with Spirit Energy.
The immense force sent him flying, crashing heavily against the wall, and a mouthful of blood spurted from his mouth.
"Su Han!"
Bi Yao exclaimed, running towards Su Han recklessly.
She reached Su Han's side, helped him up, her eyes filled with anxiety and worry: "Are you alright?"
