337: Shelter

Su Han moved through the woods, his gaze eagerly searching for suitable Materials.

His fingers gently brushed over branches of varying thickness, carefully assessing their flexibility and strength.

After finally selecting a few relatively straight and thick tree trunks, Su Han took a deep breath, his hands tightly gripping the base of the trunks.

His legs firmly rooted to the ground, he pulled upwards with force, and with a low grunt, the tree trunks were uprooted by him.

After dragging these trunks back to the grassland by the stream, Su Han immediately returned to the woods to look for flexible vines.

He bent down and patiently searched through the bushes, and whenever he found a vine, he would pull on it several times with force to confirm its sturdiness.

Before long, he had collected a large bundle of vines, his arms covered in tiny scratches from branches and leaves, with small drops of blood seeping out, yet he was completely unaware.

Meanwhile, Bi Yao sat up on the grassland, watching Su Han's busy figure, her heart filled with emotion.

She looked around and discovered a clump of unknown wildflowers not far away, their blossoms small and delicate, and brightly colored.

Bi Yao stood up, her steps still a little unsteady. She supported herself on a nearby tree trunk and slowly walked to the edge of the flower patch, where she squatted down and gently picked a few blossoms.

Returning to the stream, Bi Yao placed the flowers aside and began clearing the surrounding debris, picking up small stones, dead branches, and fallen leaves one by one to make more space for Su Han to build the shelter.

Su Han returned to the grassland with the vines and, seeing Bi Yao helping, a hint of heartache flashed in his eyes.

"Bi Yao, your body hasn't recovered yet, don't tire yourself out. Quickly sit down and rest."

Bi Yao smiled and shook her head, "I also want to help share the burden a little, that way my heart will feel at ease."

Su Han had no choice but to speed up his movements.

He first stood a few thick tree trunks firmly on the ground in a triangular structure, then tightly bound them together with vines to form the framework of the shelter.

Next, he placed some relatively thinner branches on the framework, forming the basic shape of the roof.

During the construction process, Su Han accidentally cut his finger on a vine, and blood immediately gushed out.

Seeing this, Bi Yao quickly ran over, grabbed Su Han's hand, "Does it hurt? Let me see."

Su Han smiled and comforted her, "It's just a small cut, it's nothing. Don't worry."

After some effort, the basic outline of the shelter was completed.

Su Han then went back into the woods to collect some large leaves and laid them on the roof to provide shelter from wind and rain.

Looking at the temporary shelter that was starting to take shape, both Su Han and Bi Yao let out a sigh of relief.

Night gradually fell, and the temperature in the mountain valley began to drop. Su Han built a bonfire next to the shelter, and the dancing flames dispelled the chill of the night.

Bi Yao took out some dry food from her personal bag and handed it to Su Han.

The two ate their dry food in silence by the bonfire, occasionally their eyes met, and they smiled at each other; at this moment, silence was more eloquent than words.

After eating, Bi Yao leaned against Su Han's shoulder, looked up at the night sky, and softly said, "Su Han, after experiencing this great battle, I feel more and more how precious the current peace is."

Su Han gently stroked Bi Yao's hair and said softly, "Yes, no matter what we encounter in the future, I will always be by your side."

The night deepened.

The sounds of insects chirping came from the mountain valley, occasionally accompanied by the cries of night birds. Su Han listened to these sounds, but his thoughts drifted back to that thrilling battle.

"Su Han, what are you thinking about?"
