519: Blood Marrow Demon Orchid (Part 2)

Pfft!

The soft sword pierced flawlessly, completely sinking into the fist-sized, eerie green vertical eye!

"Hiss-Aoo—!!!"

A scream of utmost misery tore through the night sky of the bamboo forest, even overpowering the sound of the wind from another Bloodscale Lizard lunging forward.

The Bloodscale Lizard whose brain had been pierced convulsed violently and crashed to the ground, throwing Su Han away along with it.

And at that moment, the sharp claw of the last intact Bloodscale Lizard was already aimed at Bi Yao's back!

Bi Yao's old strength had just been exhausted, and her new strength had not yet arrived; she had absolutely no way to dodge.

She could even smell the nauseating stench behind her.

Is it over? This thought flashed through her mind, and instead, she became strangely calm, only subconsciously looking toward the direction where Su Han had fallen.

Just at this critical moment!

"Vile beast! How dare you!"

An aged yet majestic roar exploded like a thunderclap!

Whoosh!

A streak of crimson light, impossibly fast, struck first despite being launched later, precisely hitting the head of the Bloodscale Lizard attempting to ambush Bi Yao!

Boom!

Amidst a loud crash, the Bloodscale Lizard's head exploded like a watermelon, splattering red and white matter everywhere. The headless corpse rushed forward a few steps due to inertia before heavily falling behind Bi Yao, kicking up a cloud of dust.

The remaining injured Bloodscale Lizards were completely stunned by this sudden terrifying attack and powerful aura. They let out a few fearful hisses, immediately turned around without hesitation, and fled in panic into the depths of the bamboo forest, vanishing instantly.

The scene suddenly fell into a dead silence, leaving only the crackling sound of fire burning the bamboo and heavy gasps for breath.

Bi Yao looked over, still shaken, and saw an old man dressed in a black robe with crimson patterns had appeared nearby at some unknown time.

The old man's hair and beard were white, his complexion ruddy, and his eyes were as sharp as an eagle's. He was slowly retracting the finger he had extended, and the immense Spiritual Pressure emanating from him seemed to cause the very air to stagnate.

The old man's gaze swept across the scene. He paused briefly on the dead Lizard King and the two other lizard corpses before finally settling on the unconscious Su Han and the injured Bi Yao, his brow furrowing slightly.

Bi Yao ignored her own injuries and quickly ran to Su Han's side. She checked his breathing and, finding that he was only unconscious from exhaustion, breathed a sigh of relief. Only then did she quickly bow to the old man: "Thank you, Senior, for saving our lives!"

The old man nodded slightly, his voice deep: "I was passing by and sensed Demonic Qi and fighting fluctuations, so I came to investigate.

Your cultivation levels are not high, yet you managed to slay this Bloodscale Lizard King that was about to advance. You indeed possess some skill, especially your joint effort in the final struggle; you showed considerable courage."

His gaze lingered for a moment on the soft sword still stuck in the lizard's eye: "Little girl, your swordsmanship is precise, and you remained composed in the face of danger. Not bad."

Bi Yao's face flushed slightly, and she quickly said: "Senior flatters me. If not for your timely intervention, we would already be dead."

She quickly fed Su Han several of the best healing Medicinal Pills.

The old man paced over to the Lizard King's corpse, looked at the fatal sword wound on its forehead, and then looked at the ordinary Qinggang Sword in Su Han's hand, a barely perceptible surprise flashing in his eyes.

"This is not a place to linger. The scent of blood will attract more trouble."

The old man flicked his sleeve, shaking the Qinggang Sword out of the Lizard King's vertical eye on its forehead. He then used his hand to draw out a few of the hardest reverse scales from the Lizard King's chest and the slightly glowing "blood marrow demon orchid," tossing them to Bi Yao. "These should be useful for your healing and cultivation."

"Let's go. I will escort you both a distance."

Without waiting for Bi Yao's reply, a gentle spiritual power lifted her and Su Han. As the old man took one step, the three figures blurred instantly, and in the next moment, they appeared by a clear stream several miles away.

"Regulate your breathing properly."

The old man set the two down, flashed once more, and vanished like a phantom, leaving only a faint sentence echoing in the air: "Little ones, take care of yourselves..."

Bi Yao held the unconscious Su Han, looking in the direction where the old man had disappeared, her heart filled with gratitude and lingering fear.

She dared not delay. After carefully checking the surroundings and confirming they were safe, she gently placed Su Han on the soft grass.

She used the stream water to wash the bloodstains off both of them, carefully treated their wounds, and carefully put away the "blood marrow demon orchid" that radiated strange energy and life force.

She sat beside Su Han, holding his cool hand, silently circulating her Cultivation Technique to guide the medicinal power for him, while vigilantly watching their surroundings.

Moonlight filtered through the gaps in the bamboo leaves, shining upon them, illuminating the young girl's tired yet resolute profile.

This night was destined to be long.

But at least, they had once again struggled back from the edge of death.

And after this battle, something deeper quietly began to sprout in Bi Yao's heart.

She looked at Su Han's sleeping face, her gaze growing softer, and increasingly firmer. (End of Chapter)
