606: Lu Xueqi (83)

First, they feigned weakness to lure the Golden Scale Violent Ape into using its immensely taxing innate Divine Ability. At the moment before the Divine Ability could be unleashed, they used the Earth Binding Spirit Array to restrict its movements, followed by the Mother-Child Gold-Splitting Rings to break through its defenses and create a wound. Then, they used a restrictive array to suppress its agility, and finally, everyone launched a combined strike to attack its vital point!

This set of tactics was clearly planned well in advance, specifically designed to deal with such thick-skinned and powerful Yao Beasts.

Su Han and the other two, hiding in the shadows, all felt a flash of admiration in their eyes.

While the strength of these Town Yue Tower Disciples might not be top-tier, their tactical proficiency and teamwork were truly commendable.

To be able to push a Golden Scale Violent Ape, equivalent to the Late Golden Core Stage, to such an extent was impressive.

Boom!

A violent explosion erupted on the abdomen of the Golden Scale Violent Ape!

Flesh and blood flew, and fragments of dark golden scales scattered in all directions.

The tall youth's blade, which had gathered all his cultivation power, along with the attacks of the other three, all slammed solidly into that wound!

The Golden Scale Violent Ape let out a shrill, miserable cry, its massive body forced back several steps. A bloody, mangled hole appeared in its abdomen, with its internal organs faintly visible, and its aura instantly withered.

Its crimson eyes were filled with madness and resentment as it stared fixedly at the tall youth.

"Success!" one Disciple exclaimed with joy.

However, there was no joy on the tall youth's face; instead, it became even graver.

"Careful! It's a dying counterattack!"

No sooner had he spoken than the heavily wounded Golden Scale Violent Ape, seemingly drawing power from nowhere, completely ignored its severe abdominal injury. The white light on its horn, which had been somewhat scattered, began to condense at an even faster speed, and its color shifted to a dangerous dark red!

An even more violent and destructive aura locked onto the tall youth!

This time, it was clearly staking everything on a final effort!

"Senior Brother, retreat!" the other Disciples turned pale.

The restrictive array had greatly diminished effectiveness against the violent ape now burning its Yao Beast core. The tall youth wanted to retreat, but felt the space around him solidify; the violent ape had actually used its powerful Yao power to influence the space in return!

Just as the dark red destructive golden light was about to be unleashed!

A trace of despair flashed in the tall youth's eyes.

Right at this life-or-death moment!

A brilliant purple thunderbolt, like a sword of judgment from the Nine Heavens, tore through the dim forest. Moving at a speed beyond thought, it arrived first despite having been launched later, striking with absolute precision onto the horn atop the Golden Scale Violent Ape's head, where the destructive power was gathering!

Crack!

A crisp shattering sound rang out!

The horn snapped in response!

The half-condensed dark red light suddenly lost control and exploded violently atop the Golden Scale Violent Ape's head!

Boom!

The massive explosion blew the violent ape's head to pieces. Its headless, massive body swayed for a moment before crashing heavily to the ground, kicking up clouds of dust.

Everything settled.

The four surviving Town Yue Tower Disciples, including the tall youth, stared dumbfounded at the corpse of the violent ape, then looked in unison toward the direction from which the thunderbolt had come.

They saw three figures slowly walking out from the shadows of the forest.

A youth in green robes with delicate features and deep eyes.

A White-Clothed Woman, cold and aloof like an immortal, with lightning still lingering on the long sword in her hand.

A girl in purple robes, smiling charmingly, with a hint of craftiness in her flowing gaze.

The life-saving purple thunderbolt from a moment ago had clearly come from that White-Clothed Woman.

The tall youth was the first to recover. Suppressing the shock in his heart, he quickly stepped forward, bowed with cupped hands, and saluted solemnly: "Town Yue Tower Disciple Shi Yue, many thanks to the three Fellow Daoists for saving our lives! May I ask for your honorable names, and which sect you hail from?"

The three Disciples behind him also quickly followed suit, bowing respectfully, their faces filled with gratitude and lingering fear.

If not for that thunderbolt just now, their Senior Brother would surely have died, and they themselves would likely not have escaped unscathed.

Su Han returned the salute with cupped hands and said calmly: "Qingyun Sect, Su Han."

Lu Xueqi merely nodded slightly, without speaking.

Bi Yao said with a grin: "Loose Cultivator, Bi Yao."

"Qingyun Sect?" A flicker of surprise flashed in Shi Yue's eyes.

The Qingyun Sect was a giant of the Righteous Path; he naturally knew of it.

He just hadn't expected to encounter Qingyun Sect Disciples deep within the perilous Burial God Mountain Range, and ones with such formidable strength at that.

That White-Clothed Woman's lightning sword strike was terrifyingly powerful; it was definitely the Qingyun Sect's sect-guarding ultimate technique—the Divine Sword Lightning Leading True Skill!

And this youth named Su Han; his aura was restrained, appearing calm, yet he gave him a feeling of being unfathomable.

That girl called Bi Yao appeared charming and harmless, but how could anyone who could survive in this Burial God Mountain Range be a simple character?

This trio was truly strange.

"So it is the esteemed Disciples of the Qingyun Sect and Fellow Daoist Bi Yao, my apologies for the disrespect!" Shi Yue's attitude became even more polite. "If not for the three of you intervening today, we surely would have met with disaster. The Town Yue Tower will certainly remember this favor!"

"Fellow Daoist Shi, you are too polite. As members of the Righteous Path, helping each other out is only right." Su Han's tone was calm as his gaze swept over the corpse of the Golden Scale Violent Ape.

"Why have you all ventured so deep into this place and encountered this violent ape?"

Shi Yue sighed, a bitter expression appearing on his face: "I will not hide it from you, Fellow Daoist Su. The five of us Senior Brothers entered the Burial God Mountain Range this time to seek a heaven-and-earth spiritual item called 'earth vein spirit milk' to heal an Elder of our sect. According to our clues, it might exist in this area. We didn't expect that we would disturb this Golden Scale Violent Ape guarding the place shortly after we began our search..."

He glanced at a corpse nearby, which had been battered into a bloody mess by the violent ape, a trace of sorrow flashing in his eyes.

"earth vein spirit milk?" Su Han's heart stirred. This spiritual item contained pure essence of the earth and had miraculous effects for repairing damage to the Physical Body and consolidating one's Foundation; it was indeed precious.

"This place is exceptionally dangerous; you all must grieve in moderation." Su Han offered a word of comfort, then asked, "Does Fellow Daoist Shi know the path to leave this Burial God Mountain Range? The three of us accidentally wandered into this place and are looking for a way out."

Upon hearing this, Shi Yue quickly said: "I know a bit! A Senior from our Town Yue Tower once explored the outer perimeter of the Burial God Mountain Range and left behind a partial map. Although the inner region is dangerous, the general direction can still be determined."

He took out a Jade Slip, pressed it to his forehead to copy the map information, and then handed it to Su Han.

"Fellow Daoist Su, this is the map we possess. It marks relatively safe routes and some dangerous areas; I hope it can be of some help to the three of you."

Su Han took the Jade Slip and scanned it with his Divine Sense, feeling great joy in his heart.

Although this map was not detailed enough, it roughly marked the mountain range's orientation and some obvious landmarks, which was far better than them wandering around like headless flies as they had been doing before.

"Many thanks, Fellow Daoist Shi! This map is of vital importance to us!" Su Han thanked him sincerely.

"Fellow Daoist Su, you speak too seriously. Compared to the favor of saving our lives, what is a mere map?" Shi Yue waved his hand, hesitated for a moment, then spoke up, "Fellow Daoists, if it is convenient, why don't we travel together? It would be good to look out for each other. Once we obtain the earth vein spirit milk, we also intend to leave this place immediately."

His proposal was reasonable.

In this perilous Burial God Mountain Range, there is strength in numbers. (End of chapter)
