11: Leap of Faith

Acting requires commitment. Even though Locke Galahad knew the Werewolf Clan wouldn't attack him, he still fired a few shots before hurriedly pulling Serena to crouch behind a thick wooden table.

Otherwise, it would look too fake.

On the contrary, Serena behind him somehow subconsciously treated him as her backbone, actually opening her mouth to ask for his opinion.

"What should we do now?"

"How about I use my gun to shoot a circular hole in the floor, and we both fall down with the floor?"

Hm?

He seemed to have heard something remarkable.

Just as Locke Galahad was thinking about how to reasonably escape the Werewolf Clan's encirclement with Serena, he didn't expect Serena to suggest the same escape method as in the movie.

However, Locke Galahad glanced at the floor and felt that even if Serena's gun was special, it probably wouldn't penetrate.

This reinforced concrete stuff, even a Barrett would probably struggle to blast through it.

The depiction in the original movie was likely exaggerated.

But just then, he noticed the shattered glass behind him, and an idea immediately formed in his mind.

Turning back to look into Serena's eyes, he instructed, "Hold onto my waist tightly."

"Ah..." Serena stared at him with wide eyes, stunned for a few seconds, not understanding what he meant.

And Locke Galahad naturally didn't give Serena a chance to react.

As soon as he finished speaking, he reached out and scooped her up horizontally.

Then, bending his legs and exerting force, his whole body was like a spring compressed tightly, exploding instantly. The next second, he catapulted from behind the desk, soaring over the hail of bullets and jumping out through the window.

This was something no one present had expected.

Locke Galahad also did this on a whim.

Just like that, amidst the slightly surprised expressions of Lucien, Kruto, and the numerous Werewolf Clan warriors, he held Serena and leaped out through the shattered window.

The whole sequence of movements was fluid, as if Locke Galahad had practiced it countless times in his mind.

"Damn, why is this kid so good at showing off!" Kruto couldn't help but curse inwardly as he watched the scene, feeling a bit envious at the same time.

And Lucien's eyes were full of admiration.

Because this scene inexplicably reminded him of himself and Sophia, only it was a pity he didn't have the ability to save Sophia back then.

"Don't just stand there, chase them! This play isn't over yet, no one is allowed to mess up."

After saying that, Lucien was the first to rush downstairs, and several Werewolf Clan warriors followed closely behind after composing their shock.

Kruto, after cursing and forcing out the bullets, immediately followed, swearing that in the car chase scene later, he would absolutely not let Locke Galahad hit him again.

"That was just a sneak attack. Give me another chance, and it's absolutely impossible for him to hit me."

Although they could have jumped out the window, they chose to take the stairs to let the plan proceed better.

Only to create some time for Locke Galahad and Serena to escape.

Under the shroud of gunfire and smoke, Locke Galahad leaped down from the third floor holding Serena.

The chilling whistling sound was in their ears, and under the force of gravity, their speed became faster and faster.

The ground gradually enlarged in his eyes, and Locke Galahad's eyes were becoming brighter.

This feeling of leaping from a high place was really great; it was something he had wanted to do but couldn't before. A leap of faith—this was the romance from a man's heart. If it weren't for Serena, he would have really wanted to shout out loud.

Serena leaned against him, her consciousness a bit hazy, and even her cold cheeks were faintly burning.

The next moment, she, who was staring intently at Locke Galahad, noticed the face hidden beneath the hair blown away by the fierce wind.

In a daze, she felt as if she saw another person's face on Locke Galahad's face, even more handsome than this current "Michael's face".

That was Locke Galahad's original face. Somehow, in that situation just now, Locke Galahad's disguise had faintly revealed itself.

"Is this my hallucination?"

Serena's heartbeat quickened, and a smile appeared on the corner of her mouth uncontrollably, which even she herself didn't notice.

Perhaps this was the effect brought about by the suspension bridge effect.

And the reason Locke Galahad did this was also considering that intimate contact might accelerate the relationship between the two.

The distance of three floors was only about 10 meters.

And due to acceleration, it only took two breaths from jumping out to landing.

Only a loud bang was heard.

Locke Galahad, holding Serena, landed steadily on a black GTR.

The hard car roof was instantly stomped into a huge dent by him, the car windows were shattered all over the floor, and the four tires were completely ruined.

"I don't know whose unlucky car this is."

Locke Galahad silently apologized to the car owner in his heart: "But I really didn't mean it, sorry."

Without lingering, he immediately jumped off the car roof while still holding Serena.

"Put me down."

Serena's pale face now actually had a flush of color, and while speaking, she reached out and pinched his waist hard.

But for Locke Galahad, it was painless.

However, he still chose to do as she asked. But when putting her down, he still stared at her face and subconsciously expressed concern: "Serena, are you okay?"

Although Serena felt a bit embarrassed by his gaze, her face didn't show any expression, and she remained very cold: "I... I'm fine."

However, after saying this, the blush on her pale, pretty face deepened. But fortunately, because it was late, even Locke Galahad couldn't notice the change on Serena's face.

"That's good. I think we still need to quickly find a way to leave here and stay away from the dangerous Werewolf Clan."

Locke Galahad pretended to look back in panic at the figures rushing in the hallway, then asked: "Where is your car?"

"Just follow me."

Serena had originally wanted to slightly blame Locke Galahad for acting without her consent just now, but when she saw the figures of the Werewolf Clan rushing over, she swallowed the words that were already on her lips.

Now, no matter how you look at it, is not the time to discuss whether the previous actions were correct.

After speaking, she also learned the trick Locke Galahad just used. Without waiting for Locke Galahad to answer, she grabbed his hand and pulled him toward the black jaguar XJ6 parked to the side.

"Hmph, since you acted without my consent just now, I won't bother asking you."

Locke Galahad could only passively follow behind Serena, and then inadvertently noticed the corners of her mouth slightly curled up.

"What is she happy about? We haven't escaped danger yet. Could it be that she discovered I'm an undercover agent?"

Just as he was thinking, Serena had already dragged him to the passenger seat, and with a clang, pulled open the car door and shoved him inside.

"Fasten your seatbelt."

At this time, Locke Galahad also saw through the rearview mirror Lucien and the others who had just run downstairs.

He couldn't help but sigh that their acting skills were indeed good; this timing was grasped just right. If it were a second later, it would be absolutely impossible to catch their car.

"Don't run, stop!"

After rushing out, Lucien didn't stop his pace, and at the same time shouted at the two.

And the other few people stood in a row, raised their guns, and continued to shoot at Locke Galahad and the other.

Dense bullets hit Serena's car like raindrops, making a clattering sound.

Crisp and pleasant, but they couldn't penetrate the defense.

"Shoot with full force, I'll go chase them."
