69: Surprised, you bastard!

Locke Galahad pulled out the original secret codex, and at the same time, without a moment's delay, he forcibly tore the "myriad spectacles" off his face and sent them back into his Personal Space.

The reason he said "tore" instead of "took" was because the two temples of the spectacles were latched tightly onto his ears.

Locke Galahad suspected that if he hadn't worn them for such a short time, the temples might have fused directly with his ears and grown onto his face.

This situation made up his mind; in the future, unless he encountered a special situation, he must not use this item lightly.

"The side effects of these spectacles are even stronger than this bulletproof suit; I'll have to use them cautiously from now on."

However, truth be told, these spectacles are actually quite good for searching for Extraordinary Items, but the side effects are just too great, making Locke Galahad somewhat hesitant to use them.

Rubbing his ears, Locke Galahad took the secret codex, sat down at the desk, and flipped through it from beginning to end.

A large amount of information was absorbed by Locke Galahad from the book.

"...So, the Vampire is actually an Extraordinary path itself. It's just that Serena and the others are juvenile forms, somewhere between an Extraordinary Creature and a normal human. Before completing the true ritual, they cannot fully grow into a true Sequence 9 Vampire."

After reading it, he thought this book should be called "Vampire Sequence 9 Guide".

The book detailed the steps on how a Vampire could step into Sequence 9 and become an Extraordinary Creature.

It was neither difficult nor simple.

The book provided a method: purifying one's own blood to complete the transformation from within.

The more times it was purified, the closer one was to becoming an Extraordinary Creature.

However, the further along the purification went, the more difficult it became, and one must rely on external forces.

Locke Galahad felt that Kraven was likely stuck at this step, which was why he couldn't become a true Sequence 9 Vampire.

According to the book, Serena and the others shouldn't actually be called Vampires right now, but rather Ghouls.

"I wonder if this purification method would be helpful for my Sequence 9 Night Demon path advancement?"

After finishing, Locke Galahad had this question in his mind, but he didn't put it into practice immediately; instead, he put the secret codex back into his Personal Space.

As for the one with serious defects from before, he took it out and shoved it into the bookcase.

In order not to attract the attention of others, Locke Galahad restored the secret door to its original state, planning to destroy this batch of defective items after dealing with Victor.

"It's time to go and cause trouble for Victor; it's time for this old bastard to hit the road."

After getting what he wanted, Locke Galahad walked with a very light step.

Although Alfred, who had been scouting the path earlier, had returned to his nest to rest, he had already awakened the Extraordinary Ability "Echo Location".

So even without anyone leading the way, he could rely on his own ability to find the path to Victor's secret chamber 50 meters underground.

It had to be said that Victor was quite cautious; if he didn't have the "Echo Location" ability, Locke Galahad estimated he would have gotten lost too.

Because he didn't take a single wrong step, he arrived at the bronze gate after spending a few minutes.

"This should be the place Serena mentioned where Victor is located. I wonder how well this guy has recovered now."

If possible, Locke Galahad naturally hoped that the other party was still very weak. After all, if he could complete the mission easily, he naturally didn't want to exert himself.

It was just like playing a game; when fighting a difficult boss, if there was an easy way, he would definitely use it without hesitation.

Standing in front of the gate, Locke Galahad found the keyhole at a glance and inserted the triangular stone Serena had given him.

As he turned the stone, the tightly closed gate slowly opened once again.

Locke Galahad did not hesitate and immediately stepped inside.

Of course, throughout the whole process, he maintained high vigilance to ensure he wouldn't be ambushed.

He could ambush others, but he absolutely could not allow others the opportunity to ambush him. This was his dignity as a sneaky player.

In the hall, Victor was standing with his back to the door, talking to the shadows. After Locke Galahad walked in, he didn't immediately make a move.

Instead, he stood quietly to one side and then quietly examined every corner of the secret chamber, wanting to find the whereabouts of that mysterious creature.

This was to avoid being ambushed later during the fight with Victor.

Victor in the hall thought that it was Kraven and the others who had returned after completing the mission, so he didn't turn around at first and was still talking to himself.

"It will be ready soon, it will be ready soon. I will save you from hell soon. As long as I wait for them to bring that person's corpse over, it will be a success."

"There is no problem with the ritual; you have to trust Papa. Besides, if you hadn't made a mistake, how would you have ended up in this state..."

"How can you blame me for this..."

Locke Galahad, who was on the side, was paying attention to Victor's every move and naturally couldn't ignore what he was saying.

He guessed that the other party was probably talking to that mysterious creature at this moment.

Combining this with the information he already knew, he had some thoughts in his mind about the Extraordinary Creature that had scared Alfred:

"Could it be that the mysterious creature is..."

But upon second thought, Locke Galahad felt the possibility was not high.

Because how could the dead be resurrected?

Even if people could be resurrected in this world after death, that was not an ability that a small fry like Victor could master.

Just as he was thinking, Victor suddenly flew into a rage and slammed his fist against the wall:

"I already said it will be ready soon, can't you just be quiet for a moment!"

"It's always like this, you never listen to me. Who can you blame for ending up like this?"

Victor's words carried a hint of disappointment, but fortunately, Locke Galahad didn't have to wait too long.

After the other party finished venting his anger, he no longer talked to the corner by himself.

"Is it Serena or Kraven who has come? Did you bring that brat's corpse?"

"Heh heh heh." Locke Galahad sneered and took out his revolver without replying.

Seeing that the person didn't reply, Victor couldn't help but frown. He turned around, wanting to fly into a rage, but unexpectedly, he was greeted by a pitch-black gun barrel and a big, grinning face.

"Surprise, you bastard!"

After speaking, Locke Galahad immediately pulled the trigger.

"This is the welcome gift I've brought for you."

The originally dim secret chamber was instantly illuminated by the muzzle flash.

Bang, bang, bang, bang.

The loud gunshots echoed in the secret chamber.

Silver bullets, one after another, almost forming a straight line, shot violently towards Victor's forehead.

Locke Galahad did not hold back and emptied 10 bullets at once within a second.

His left hand, fanning the hammer, moved so fast it became a blur to achieve this effect.

This time, the firing speed was much faster than when he dealt with those Vampires at the station.

That was because of the improvement brought about by his step from his normal state into the Sequence 9 Night Demon path.
