24: Showing off a little skill

Inside the Vampire Base, on the first underground level, in the combat training ground.

The open area contained only Locke Galahad, Serena, and Erica, who was pretending to be there to supervise them.

Because this was Serena's private training ground, other Vampires could not enter, and not even Kraven could extend his reach here.

At this moment, Serena was planning to teach Locke Galahad her shooting experience, while Erica watched from the side with curiosity.

Before starting the instruction, Serena intended to demonstrate her own prowess first.

She held a gun in her hand, her expression cold and stern, and fired several shots at a target a hundred meters away, each one hitting the center of the forehead.

Each bullet hole was less than a centimeter apart; it was highly accurate, and Locke Galahad couldn't help but nod as he watched from the side.

After finishing, Serena spun the gun, then handed it to Locke Galahad with a slightly haughty expression on her face.

"Take it. Today, I'm going to teach you how to complete a five-shot burst as quickly as I do, while maintaining accuracy."

"As for the gun, I don't need it."

Locke Galahad shook his head and pulled out his revolver from under his arm: "I'm already used to using my own gun."

"That's fine. If you use a revolver well, your firing speed can be extremely fast, and you won't run into issues like jamming."

Serena didn't think much of it. She walked around him twice and then evaluated: "I observed you while fighting the Lycans; your firing speed and accuracy are decent, but you have a fatal flaw."

Locke Galahad nodded, holding his gun, appearing as if he were listening intently. Erica, watching from the side, perked up her ears, looking at her with some curiosity.

Seeing them like this, Serena didn't beat around the bush. She raised her hand and fired five more shots at the distant target, saying to Locke Galahad as she fired: "That is that your accuracy is too low. You always fail to hit the enemy's vital points. I noticed that every Lycan you hit was basically struck in non-vital areas like the shoulders or arms..."

"Huh..."

Erica, knowing his true strength, subconsciously made a face at Locke Galahad and teased him on purpose: "You were so confident before, I really thought you had some incredible tricks up your sleeve?"

"If that's the case, I'm afraid you won't be able to defeat those five elite warriors."

Although she wasn't a combatant, she knew that one had to hit the head or heart to kill a Lycan or a Vampire.

Although Erica's words were mocking Locke Galahad, her main intention was to provoke him into giving up the idea of going on the mission.

"Ahem, ahem, ahem."

Locke Galahad quickly raised his hand and coughed a few times: "Serena, I know everything you said, but I've been practicing hard recently, and I definitely won't miss this time."

"It's not that I don't believe you."

Serena opened her eyes wide, staring at him suspiciously: "You've been with me these past few days, when have you practiced..."

"Alright, stop trying to tough it out."

Erica stood up, walked to his side, took the gun from Serena's hand, and began firing at the distant dummy.

She fired five shots in a row, and although her speed was far behind Serena's, almost every shot hit the head or heart, with a maximum deviation of no more than a centimeter.

After finishing, she looked at Locke Galahad: "If even I can precisely hit the enemy's vital points, and you can't, how can you compete with those people?"

Serena also looked at him with suspicious eyes.

Locke Galahad held his forehead with one hand and gave a bitter smile, feeling somewhat helpless. He hadn't expected his disguise to become the seed of doubt for Serena and Erica regarding his strength.

It was mainly because Serena and Erica only believed what they saw; they naturally didn't understand the marksmanship he hadn't fully revealed.

Locke Galahad didn't blame them.

"Don't feel embarrassed."

Seeing him not react, Serena continued to persuade him: "It's not too late to give up now. At worst, Erica and I can go with you, and the three of us can escape together..."

Her words of persuasion hadn't finished yet.

Bang, bang, bang...

The training camp, which had fallen silent, suddenly rang out with six gunshots.

The gunshots were so fast that if you didn't listen carefully, you would think only two or three shots had been fired.

The reason for this was mainly that Locke Galahad's firing speed was so fast that the sounds of the consecutive bullets merged together.

And the reason Locke Galahad could do this was, on one hand, naturally due to the powerful physique provided by being a Vampire.

On the other hand, it was because of the huge improvement brought to him by the system reward [Flexible Fingers].

Locke Galahad's right finger was clamped tightly on the trigger without letting go, while his left hand moved the hammer at the back with a speed almost invisible to ordinary people.

This allowed him to fire six bullets in the blink of an eye.

This immediately shocked Serena, who had been rambling on, with the marksmanship he had just displayed.

With her mouth slightly agape, she looked at Locke Galahad in disbelief: "Your... how can your firing speed be this fast! Is this something a human can do? This is more than twice as fast as what you showed before. How did you do this?"

Serena didn't even rush to check the target; she immediately started questioning Locke Galahad.

This question was very simple.

It was mainly that when your firing speed is several times faster than your opponent's, as long as you can hit them, you will definitely be the winner.

Because as long as the opponent is hit, they will be injured and inevitably affected. When one advantage is too prominent, it can completely cover up shortcomings.

Locke Galahad didn't answer immediately. Instead, he kept a calm expression, spun the revolver back and forth just like Serena had, and finally held it up to his mouth, blowing on it gently, looking exactly like a cowboy.

"What are you doing..."

Serena glanced at him with annoyance, then pinched his side lightly: "I was teaching you how to shoot, not how to show off."

"I thought this was a mandatory ritual after you fire a gun."

Locke Galahad scratched his head with a bitter smile.

Hearing this, Serena pouted, looking at him with annoyance.

Feeling the chill, Locke Galahad quickly put away the gun and resumed a serious state: "Um, I'm joking, Serena, I'm joking, don't be angry."

"You still have the heart to joke in the face of a life-or-death crisis."

Serena reached out and lightly tapped his chest: "It seems you really aren't nervous at all."

Locke Galahad was about to let Serena look at the target he had hit, but before he could speak, Erica, who was beside him, excitedly grabbed Serena's hand and shouted: "This marksmanship is unbelievable, Serena, look, look quickly."

"What could be so interesting to see? It's nothing more than... Huh?"

"Ah!"

Serena rolled her eyes and turned her gaze toward the target in front of Locke Galahad, but before she could finish her sentence, she froze.

At this moment, it felt as if even her heartbeat had stopped.

She opened her eyes wide, her pupils dilated, completely unable to believe that what she was seeing was real.

"This... is this real? Did I really not see this wrong?"
