55: One-sided crushing victory (Seeking 10,000 daily votes for monthly tickets)

Under the moonlight, the Vampire Base was quiet and solemn.

It looked filled with the eerie, oppressive silence of death.

The dense swarm of bats that originally rested on the surface of the castle were now circling in a ring, flying rapidly around it.

It was as if they were performing some mysterious ritual.

Unfortunately, no one cared about this strange phenomenon.

Inside the fortress, most people were distracted by the gunshots coming from Selene's room; no one saw this eerie scene.

Inside the room, Locke sensed the message the bats outside were conveying to him, so he responded to them at a leisurely pace, using sound waves that ordinary people could not hear:

"Thank you, my cute little ones, for cheering me on. But don't worry, this guy couldn't possibly be my opponent."

"Stop acting mysterious."

Kraven watched his lips move without making a sound, a look of disdain flashing across his face:

"I don't care where you got it from; I don't believe that you, someone who just became a Vampire, could possess power comparable to mine."

Kraven spread his hands, releasing the power he had hidden for centuries.

A scarlet aura emanated from his pores, and his entire body began to undergo subtle changes.

A moment later, Kraven felt an incomparable sense of power instantly flood his entire body, giving him the illusion that he could now take on everyone in the world.

"This feeling of power is truly wonderful."

Kraven instantly swelled with arrogance, looking down on everything in heaven and earth.

Locke just calmly watched Kraven, who had almost completely changed his appearance, and did not try to stop his near-transformation.

He just waited there quietly, extremely confident.

"Hmm, where did your suit go?"

"Do you want it that much?"

With a slight sneer on his face, Locke raised his hand and beckoned to Kraven, who had grown to nearly two meters tall, his words filled with disdain:

"If you can defeat me, I might just give it to you."

Naturally, he had put the suit away; that thing couldn't be worn for long.

He had kept this important piece of information firmly in his mind and had never forgotten it. Since he had decided to engage in close-quarters combat, it was naturally impossible to keep wearing it.

Of course, the main reason was that the pressure Kraven brought after transforming was almost non-existent. That was why he dared to do this.

Otherwise, given his cautious nature, if Kraven had posed even the slightest threat after transforming, he wouldn't have taken off the life-saving suit.

Additionally, he wanted to save the remaining precious time he could wear the bulletproof suit each day for Victor later on.

He knew that the old guy still had hidden tricks, so he had to be prepared.

Not far opposite him, Kraven's entire face had now become like a bat's: a pig-like nose, fangs, a split lower lip, and high, pointed ears.

He had completely lost the characteristics of a human or even a Vampire.

Even his skin, which should have been fair, was covered in dense, fine black hair.

In Locke's eyes, Kraven looked like a black, wingless bat, appearing extremely eerie and ugly, which made him subconsciously show a look of disgust.

"Heh heh heh heh, I think you're really looking for death, kid. Without that extraordinary equipment, you still dare to be so arrogant in front of me."

Even Kraven's voice had become hoarse and rough, like the sound of two pieces of scrap metal rubbing together; it didn't sound like anything a human could produce.

It sounded inexplicably eerie.

However, after saying this, he didn't immediately make a move. Instead, he looked sinisterly toward the corner where Serena was hiding and said in a strange tone:

"Serena, you still have a chance. If you make a move and kill him now, I'm sure Elder Victor will spare your life."

"Hmph, don't even think about it. You still want to manipulate me?"

Serena hid behind, poking her little head out, and said in a tsundere tone:

"Once you are beheaded by Michael, I will leave the Vampire Base with him. By then, let alone Elder Victor, no one will be able to find us."

"Hahaha, stubborn and headstrong. This is the last chance I'm giving you."

Kraven shook his head in disappointment: "You still haven't recognized the reality of the situation. With me here, you two cannot possibly escape."

"Escape?"

Locke replied in a very calm tone: "When did I ever say I wanted to escape?"

He then deliberately looked Kraven up and down with a contemptuous gaze, and after finishing, said in a mocking tone:

"Why don't you look in a mirror at what you look like now? Do you really think a neither-human-nor-ghost thing like you can kill me?"

"Whether I can kill you or not, you'll know soon enough."

Kraven licked his lips with his now elongated tongue, staring fixedly at Locke with the look of a predator eyeing its prey.

The next second, he left the ground, turned into a black shadow, and charged fiercely toward Locke.

Facing this speed, which was significantly faster than Kruto's and even Lucien's, Locke remained composed.

He stood calmly in place, just as he had done the day he dealt with Kruto.

But this time it was different; he didn't even sink his waist.

Because the times had changed.

He was now a powerhouse on the extraordinary path, a Sequence 9 Night Demon.

He could not be mentioned in the same breath as that guy who only had a Vampire physique back then.

As Kraven charged forward, seeing that his expression hadn't changed at all, and that he hadn't even blinked, he couldn't help but curl his lips:

"Kid, scared silly, aren't you!"

"Hahaha, let me tell you, it's too late now. Even if you kneel down and beg me now, it's useless."

"You are destined to die here today."

Kraven kept talking, but Locke didn't respond to a single word, instead focusing on mobilizing his own power, building up for a fatal strike.

At this moment, Locke was like a venomous snake that hadn't bared its fangs; he appeared completely harmless on the surface, but in reality, he was like an advanced hunter lurking in the shadows, waiting for the opportunity to deliver that fatal bite.

He was just waiting for Kraven to charge right in front of him.

"Why aren't you saying anything? Kid."

Seeing that Locke ignored him, Kraven felt a bit angry instead.

It was mainly because thinking about how the woman he loved most had actually fallen out with him for the sake of Locke made him somewhat emotional, losing his previous composure.

There was no helping it; anyone who saw the goddess they adored running off with another man would become like this.

Especially when this man was standing right in front of you now.

Thinking of this, he continued to say to Locke:

"Hehe, I'll spare your life for a while later, so you can watch how I humiliate that bitch Serena right in front of your face."

"This stinking bitch, I've been currying favor with her for hundreds of years, and yet she turned around and ran off with you. Hahaha, later, not only will I humiliate her first, but I'll also eat her piece by piece; only then can I alleviate the hatred in my heart."

A surge of killing intent suddenly welled up in Locke's eyes, and he looked at Kraven with an extremely calm tone and expression.

"You... have truly lived enough."
