19: Jealous
By this time, Locke Galahad had already returned to his normal state.
Not only that, but after he was completely satisfied, he had also dressed Erica back in all her clothes.
What surprised Locke Galahad the most was that when Erica woke up half an hour later, she acted as if she didn't remember anything at all,
and even began asking questions to him, the very culprit responsible.
"Hmm? Did I just fall asleep? How come I don't remember anything?"
Erica rubbed her eyes and sat up on the bed. She first checked her clothes, then asked Locke Galahad, who was sitting on the sofa:
"Hey, Serena's little boyfriend, do you know anything about this?"
Locke Galahad shrugged with a helpless expression: "After you came in, you said you wanted to examine my body, but then you just walked over to the bed and fell asleep on your own. No matter how I called you, I couldn't wake you up."
"Is that so?"
Erica scratched her head in confusion; she kept feeling that something was not quite right.
Because she felt as if she had just fought hundreds of rounds with someone,
and now even her calves were sore and swollen.
It was as if she had been rammed head-on by some savage beast earlier.
Naturally, Locke Galahad wouldn't be foolish enough to admit it voluntarily. Since she didn't remember, he would just pretend it never happened.
Anyway, he hadn't lost out.
"By the way, I'm very curious about how you and Serena met."
Unable to figure it out, Erica simply gave up on thinking about it and quickly sat down on the sofa.
Under the subtle influence of that mysterious power earlier, Erica's favorability toward Locke Galahad had already increased significantly without her realizing it.
Therefore, she didn't feel any awkwardness when talking to him.
Locke Galahad didn't try to hide anything and briefly explained how he had met Serena:
"Hmm, it's actually not that complicated. I was being hunted by werewolves, and she happened to come looking for me. One thing led to another, and after surviving the pursuit, we got to know each other."
Erica looked at him, seemingly nodding while listening, but in reality, her attention was captured by vivid scenes that had inexplicably surfaced in her mind.
As she watched, she couldn't help but swallow her saliva.
This was mainly because the protagonists of these images were none other than her and Locke Galahad.
"How could this be...?"
Seeing this, Erica blurted it out uncontrollably, while her hand subconsciously reached between her legs, wanting to verify it.
"What do you mean, 'how could this be'? Is there something wrong with the story of how we met?"
Locke Galahad noticed her actions, and his heart grew somewhat uneasy.
Could it be... that she was starting to remember?
If she remembered and told Serena about this, his plan to woo Serena might completely fall through.
That was something he could not accept.
He was still counting on completing the Underworld quest to get the rewards needed to fight against that mastermind behind the scenes.
Erica stared intently at his eyes,
trying to see if she could discern anything from his face, but in the end, she was deceived by his harmless-looking expression.
So she had to pout:
"It's nothing, I just had a strange dream. But the person in the dream was you?"
"Me?" Locke Galahad was shocked inside, but he remained calm, as if by instinct:
"You must have seen it wrong. This is our first time meeting today; even if you were dreaming, you shouldn't be dreaming about me."
Erica thought that made sense, but the sensation from her lower abdomen made her feel like it wasn't a dream.
Moreover, the images were too realistic, as if they had just happened.
But seeing herself in her memory being so proactive toward Locke Galahad made Erica feel it was completely impossible.
Yet she wasn't willing to give up, so she wanted to verify it right now.
"Even in a dream, one shouldn't be able to reconstruct something they've never seen. I'll secretly measure it later. If it's really inconsistent, then it's my own problem, but if it's true..."
Seeing Erica lost in thought and not asking any more questions, Locke Galahad's hanging heart finally settled down, thinking he had completely gotten away with it.
Little did he know that Erica was currently pondering how to make her move.
Aha, she had an idea.
"By the way, let me help you examine your body."
As she said this, Erica reached out toward Locke Galahad without further ado,
intending to use the excuse of a physical examination to secretly compare Locke Galahad's physique with the one in her dream.
Seeing her sudden movement, Locke Galahad blocked in front of himself with both hands and couldn't help leaning backward:
"Hey, hey, Erica, wait a second. My body has already recovered; there's no need to examine it."
"It's fine, I'll just take a look for you. Who knows, you might have some hidden ailment."
Erica was relentless, determined to achieve her goal, while Locke Galahad was, of course, unwilling.
After all, who knew what Erica was up to now?
Just as the two were pushing each other, the originally closed door was suddenly pushed open, and their movements froze.
"Guess what news I found."
The person who arrived was none other than Serena, her voice carrying a hint of joy.
However, when she saw the scene where Erica was about to pin Locke Galahad down, the smile on her face immediately froze.
Because for some reason, seeing Locke Galahad laughing and chatting with another woman made Serena feel inexplicably sour inside.
However, she did not show it; instead, she suppressed this emotion,
and asked coldly:
"What... are you two doing?"
"Ah... Serena, listen to me."
Erica, like a kitten caught by its owner in the act of stealing a treat, quickly turned her head to explain: "I was just giving your little boyfriend a physical examination."
"Is that so?"
Serena didn't dwell on the title 'little boyfriend' but instead turned to look at Locke Galahad for confirmation.
Locke Galahad couldn't help feeling a bit guilty as he looked at Serena, and he shrugged, saying:
"It's true that Erica wanted to examine my body, but I've already recovered, so I didn't agree to it."
The reason Locke Galahad felt guilty was that, while Erica thought nothing had happened between them, he knew that they had actually done everything,
it was just that Erica was currently being kept in the dark.
Seeing that both were fully clothed, Serena nodded expressionlessly, reluctantly believing their words.
However, seeing Locke Galahad affectionately call Erica by her name made her feel a bit jealous,
so she deliberately stepped over and sat in the middle of the sofa, separating the two.
Then, with a light huff, she deliberately turned around, leaving her back to Locke Galahad.
Erica also turned to the side, leaning on the sofa armrest, and looked at her with some curiosity:
"Serena, you're so excited; could it be that you have some earth-shattering good news?"
To be honest, she also wanted to see what kind of news could make even the iceberg goddess Serena so excited.
