118: Illusion

Locke felt a bit resentful.

Because earlier, when Ah Fu came, he had just been planning to get down to business with Serena,

and now he was interrupted again just as he was about to start; no one would be in a good mood.

Locke pulled out his accustomed revolver, cocked the hammer, and walked to the window with a displeased expression, yanking open the curtains.

I'd like to see who dares to come looking for trouble with me this late at night!

He aimed the muzzle outside the window,

On the windowsill stood a Raven whose feathers were so black they gleamed, and its eyes were fiery red, staring intently at him.

“What are you looking at? Do you want to die?”

Locke was already in a bad mood, and seeing this Raven hold its head high and look at him disdainfully,

as if looking down on him, he immediately decided to send it on its way.

He didn't care whose Raven it was or what its purpose was for coming late at night.

Anyone who dared to obstruct his good deeds would be swept away.

This was the resentment stemming from a man's heart.

Even if the Raven had landed on the windowsill by accident, Locke felt it could only blame its bad luck.

“Goodbye!”

Having said that, Locke's finger pulled the trigger, intending to blow the Raven's head off with one shot.

However, after the silver bullet left the barrel, it failed to hit the slightly arrogant Raven outside the window.

The Raven seemed to possess an extraordinary ability, as when facing the rapidly approaching bullet,

it actually used an ability similar to Phasing, easily dodging the bullet.

After doing all that, the Raven lifted its head even higher, staring obliquely at Locke.

“Hmph.”

Only then did Locke activate his ability and sense that the Raven indeed carried a strong extraordinary aura.

But it didn't matter. Since it dared to provoke him, he would teach this Raven a lesson.

Locke directly mobilized the Extraordinary Factor, condensing it onto his hands, and lunged forward to grab the Raven.

“Let's see how you dodge this!”

The Raven seemed to sense danger, a hint of panic flashing in its eyes. Its beak had just opened, intending to say something, when Locke's large hand seized it.

A wicked smile hung on Locke's lips: “Too late!”

Then, using force with both hands, he crushed the Raven into a mist of blood.

“Hmph, utterly foolish.”

Having finished this, Locke mobilized the Extraordinary Factor and gave a slight shake, shedding all the bloodstains from his hands.

He immediately turned around, intending to return to the bed and resume his good deeds with Serena,

but unexpectedly, the moment he turned his head,

the scene before him immediately shocked his spirituality, raising his alertness to maximum.

“This is...”

Because what appeared before him was not Serena lying across the large bed,

but the familiar window from before, and outside the window was still that annoying Raven, staring at him with its head held high.

Locke even sensed a hint of mockery in the Raven's eyes.

Fortunately, he was calm enough to immediately analyze his current situation based on the recent encounter.

“It seems I've fallen victim to an Illusion!”

He stared gravely at the Raven outside the window, then pondered a way to break the situation.

Although he didn't know the Raven's motive for pulling him into the Illusory Realm,

Locke absolutely refused to accept the feeling that the situation was out of his control.

“Let's see if I can still summon my items.”

With this attempt, he immediately found a way to break the situation.

He beckoned with one hand,

and the [lacrosse mask], which had previously rendered great service, instantly appeared in his hand.

The mysterious aura emanating from it confirmed to Locke that he could use his system's items even within the Illusory Realm.

Thus, without the slightest hesitation, he immediately put the mask on his face.

The moment the mask was put on,

the scene before him returned to normal.

Locke was certain the Illusory Realm was broken, because when he quickly looked back, he saw Serena still lying on the bed.

And his time seemed to have frozen at the moment he was preparing to act against the Raven outside the window.

“Caw! Caw! Caw!”

The Raven outside the window was clearly stunned seeing the mask suddenly appear on Locke's face; it obviously didn't understand how he had summoned it.

At the same time, it hadn't anticipated that this mask would possess the ability to shatter its Illusory Realm.

So, at this moment, it looked extremely surprised, its eyes wide open.

Locke didn't dare to relax the moment he broke the Illusory Realm; he kept the mask on his face.

Then, he quickly stretched out his hand, ready to grab the Raven and interrogate it properly.

“You better pray you have a powerful backer, or today I'm having roasted crow!”

To be honest, he hadn't even noticed when he was hit, which was why he was extremely vigilant now.

The Raven instinctively flapped its wings, trying to escape, but Locke grabbed its foot even faster and hauled it in from outside the window.

The Raven squawked and squealed in his hand like a proud little girl caught by the foot, its voice somewhat high-pitched.

“Let me go quickly, let me go quickly! If you don't let me go, I'll tell my master on you later!”

“Your master?”

Locke completely ignored the Raven's threat. Since the other party dared to attack him just now,

it had to be prepared for his retaliation.

He was not a kind person.

“Hmph! You better pray I know your master, or else even Jesus won't be able to save you later.”

Selene, who was lying on the bed having taken off her pajamas, heard this sudden squealing sound,

and immediately pulled the quilt up to her neck, completely covering the scenery on her chest.

“Locke, what happened?”

“Nothing much. Some clueless little guy dared to cause me trouble. You rest first.”

Locke lifted the Raven, holding it by one hand, and gestured, “Later, I'll treat you to some charcoal-grilled Sequence 9 Extraordinary Creature.”

With that, he made a move to step out of the room toward the kitchen to start a fire. These words terrified the Raven clutched in his hand.

“Let me go quickly, let me go quickly! Don't roast me! My meat is sour and doesn't taste good.”

“Hmph, if it doesn't taste good, then I'll just feed you directly to the dogs.”

Locke naturally wasn't really planning to roast and eat the Raven; after all, it was still a Sequence 9.

He intended to scare the little fellow first to see if he could extract any useful information.

If he couldn't get any, then he would kill it,

and seize the supernatural polymer condensed by the other party.

“Caw caw caw, don't! Don't! Lord Locke, please spare me.”

The Raven naturally didn't know Locke's thoughts, and was so scared by his words that it immediately conceded defeat.

“Oh, so you know me.” Locke stopped walking, sat down on the sofa instead, and stared at the Raven with a wicked smile:

“Hehehe, tell me, what exactly was your intention running outside my room this late at night?”

“I, I, I was ordered by my master to come and contact you, sir.”

The Raven blinked its long eyelashes, its eyes darting around,

but after meeting Locke's gaze, it dared not lie anymore, suppressing all the little schemes in its heart.

Mainly, as a flying creature, being held like this made her feel very insecure.

“And who is your master?”

Suspicion flashed in Locke's eyes,

because he didn't recall knowing anyone who kept a Sequence 9 Extraordinary Creature as a pet.

“My master is...”
