52: My Lord, they are the ones who should flee! (Seeking 10,000 monthly votes daily)

"I absolutely did not, my Lord, please believe me."

The Great Bat shook its head with great intelligence, then said proudly and firmly:

"However, since you have leveled up, my Lord, there is no need for us to run."

Locke was immediately amused by the Great Bat's confident remark and asked subconsciously:

"Are you that confident in my strength?"

"That goes without saying," the Great Bat raised its chin in a remarkably human-like manner:

"Facing you, my Lord, it is they who should be running now. I can sense the powerful strength hidden within you; that monster is doomed."

"Ahem..." Locke was left speechless for a moment by the Great Bat's exaggerated remarks.

Mainly, he never expected that even a bat could be so good at flattery.

However, he did receive some incredible information from the Great Bat; otherwise, if he were to underestimate Victor later, he might have stumbled.

Although he didn't know what creature the Great Bat had seen, he was certain it was Victor's hidden ace.

But it didn't matter. He had plenty of extraordinary items and methods; he wasn't worried about failing to kill the opponent.

"My Lord, there is no need to worry; it is they who should be afraid now." The Great Bat flapped its wings, looking very excited.

"I am not worried." Locke shook his head with a smile and continued to ask:

"Where are the people I asked you to track now, and how far are they from my room?"

"I should only be a few minutes ahead of them." The Great Bat tilted its head, pretended to think for a moment, and immediately replied.

"Doesn't that mean they'll be here soon?" Upon hearing this news, Locke prepared to send the Great Bat away immediately.

"Find a safe place to stay first, and come back when I call you."

"My Lord, do you not need me to bring my brothers to help you hold the line?"

"Hahaha, no need. They can stay here; you just find a safe place to hide."

"As you command, my Lord." The Great Bat folded one wing against its chest and actually bowed to him, making Locke feel as if he were talking to a gentleman.

This really wasn't because he was affected by [Bat Affinity]; anyone who saw a bat bowing to them would have the same illusion.

After doing this, the Great Bat flapped its wings and flew out of the room.

Locke watched the Great Bat's retreating figure in the dark night and shook his head with a bitter smile, "Who would have thought, who would have thought, this little guy is actually so intelligent. I don't know if I'm lucky or if it's lucky..."

This was also the reason he didn't ask the Great Bat to stay and help him. Bullets have no eyes, and if he accidentally killed the Great Bat with a stray shot, he would inevitably feel a bit regretful.

Besides, the Great Bat was something he had raised personally; even as a pet, he had developed some affection for it.

Furthermore, the Great Bat wouldn't be of much help staying here. If he couldn't beat the enemy, the Great Bat would be useless, and if he could beat the enemy, the Great Bat would be even less useful.

"It's a pity I forgot to give it a nice name. Next time, then."

After doing all this, he held his revolver with one hand, leaned against the window, and closed his eyes to wait.

Patter, patter. Locke heard dull footsteps approaching from afar, finally stopping in front of the door.

He knew it was Serena and Kraven who had arrived, so he immediately raised his gun, ready for battle. Of course, his gun was mainly aimed at Kraven.

However, he had a premonition that the gun might not be effective against Kraven. Just like himself, if it were a gun without extraordinary power, it would be absolutely impossible to hit him.

Standing at the door, Serena clenched her hands tightly together, feeling incredibly conflicted; she could only pray that Locke understood her hint and had already escaped.

Behind her, Kraven watched her stop in front of the door, unwilling to open it for a long time, and a cold sneer hung on his lips:

"Heh heh, Serena, what's the matter? Hesitating? This doesn't seem like your style."

"Haven't you always been decisive in killing? You never disobeyed Elder Victor's orders; why can't you do it today?"

"What does that have to do with you?" Serena turned around, glared at him coldly, and immediately retorted to his sarcasm:

"Just mind your own business and watch; don't run your mouth, and don't interfere."

"Alright." Kraven teased with a wicked smile: "As long as you can bring yourself to do it, I can just watch and do nothing. But I suspect you can't bear to part with your little lover, can you?"

"Shut up!" Serena deliberately made her voice very loud, attempting to let Locke, who might still be inside, hear:

"If it weren't for you deliberately bad-mouthing him in front of Victor, he wouldn't have been ordered to be executed."

"Me? Isn't this all your own doing? Who can you blame?" Kraven crossed his arms, looking unconcerned: "If it weren't for you insisting that I meet Elder Victor, how could this have happened?"

"You are truly shameless." "If you hadn't insisted on causing him trouble in the first place, why would I have targeted you!" Serena stared at him intensely, almost shouting these words, while glancing at the door with the corner of her eye.

Although she had intentionally raised her voice to warn Locke, Kraven's words stabbed deep into her heart like knives.

"Enough nonsense." Kraven said with a knowing smile in his eyes, mocking: "I know you shouted so loudly just now to warn that kid, but it's useless."

"How far could he have run in a few minutes? Can he escape the pursuit of us Vampires?"

"You..." Serena stared with wide eyes and her mouth agape, suddenly unable to speak. Because Kraven's words hit her weak spot directly, leaving her unable to refute.

That's right, in just a few minutes, where could he possibly have gone? But she had already made the call, so presumably, Locke should have understood her intentions.

Seeing that Serena didn't move, Kraven stepped forward and grabbed the doorknob: "If you aren't willing to open the door, I'll help you open it. If you don't want to do it, I'm happy to oblige."

"I would be more than happy to send that kid to his grave." After saying this, it completely caused Serena to lose her reason; she grabbed the silver pistol at her waist with one hand, ready to kill Kraven right there.

Unexpectedly, the next second, the tightly closed door suddenly opened. This immediately interrupted her attempt to ambush him. The person who opened the door was none other than Locke, who had been waiting inside for a while.

He had heard Serena and Kraven arguing at the door, and then heard Serena's powerless roar. Naturally, he knew that Serena was arguing with Kraven on purpose to buy him time.

However, since he wasn't going to run, he didn't wait any longer and pulled the door open just as their argument reached its peak.

As soon as the door opened, Locke immediately pulled Serena back into the room, then raised his revolver and pulled the trigger at Kraven. Bang, bang, bang, bang.

Without hesitation, he fired four bullets in succession. Although it was slower than two-handed shooting due to one-handed operation, at this distance, an ordinary Vampire would absolutely not be able to react in time.

Yet even under such extreme conditions, Kraven actually reacted. He tilted his body slightly backward, dodging the four silver bullets that were almost certain to kill, and ultimately only suffered some superficial injuries.

"Fu*k, you bastard, you actually dare to stage a sneak attack!"
