5: Confrontation with the Werewolf Leader
At dusk.
The roads of Iron Cross Street became sparse with pedestrians.
Because the many recent serial murders had caused an uproar throughout America, most residents returned home early.
This, coincidentally, gave the Werewolf Clan space to act.
Lucien looked up at the clinic in front of him, pointed to the four corners of the building's courtyard, and then instructed his subordinates behind him:
"Spread out and surround this clinic. Do not let anyone in or out. I want to catch them like a turtle in a jar."
Except for Kruto, the remaining Werewolf Clan warriors nodded in agreement.
With clear division of labor, they followed Lucien's instructions and occupied the outer corners of the clinic building, surrounding it in the center.
Kruto, however, was somewhat dismissive of Lucien's cautious approach and eagerly proposed:
"Boss, isn't he just an ordinary human? Is it necessary for us to make such a big fuss? Why don't you let me go up and drag him down for you?"
Kruto did this, of course, mostly to seize the opportunity to wash away the humiliation of being hit by Locke Galahad.
Being hit by Locke Galahad was unacceptable in the eyes of the combative Werewolf Clan.
Kruto considered himself the strongest Werewolf Clan warrior besides Lucien, so he was determined to wipe away this stain with his own hands.
Facing his request, Lucien just glared at him fiercely:
"Don't even think about it. Kruto, how many times have I told you not to act on impulse? You need to become a mature warrior to protect the safety of the Werewolf Clan from the Vampire."
Lucien was extremely cautious.
He did not underestimate Locke Galahad just because he was a human, so he did not accept Kruto's proposal.
Since there was a safer way, he didn't need to take the risk.
Moreover, he carried the burden of the entire Werewolf Clan, so he had to be careful in everything he did.
"Fine." Kruto pursed his lips and had no choice but to follow his order helplessly.
Lucien did not linger any longer; he strode into the clinic, took the elevator, and followed the scent straight toward Locke Galahad.
Locke Galahad, who had been waiting for a long time, had naturally already sensed this group of Werewolf Clan members.
"You've finally arrived. You really made me wait."
He had just been hiding behind the curtains, secretly watching the people downstairs.
It wasn't until he saw Lucien, who was leading them, enter the clinic that he withdrew his attention.
Because the main event was about to begin.
He had to find a way to persuade Lucien,
and obtain a vial of Werewolf Clan blood from him.
This was crucial for whether he could successfully obtain the Hybrid later, so he had to be cautious in his words and actions.
After all, he wasn't the original protagonist, Michael, who had the blind luck to obtain this constitution without doing anything.
Although Lucien was not the ancestor of the Werewolf Clan in the traditional sense, he was the first werewolf with self-awareness.
This was because Lucien's mother was bitten by a werewolf while pregnant with him, allowing him to retain self-awareness even after transforming into a werewolf.
Therefore, Locke Galahad believed that he was definitely not as simple as he appeared in the original work.
Otherwise, he wouldn't have been able to lead the Werewolf Clan, originally a slave race, to contend with their former masters, the Vampire, for centuries.
Furthermore, in the original work, Lucien even seemed a bit too simple.
He hadn't missed the scene where the other party acted cautiously just now.
"It might be a bit difficult to persuade him to cooperate later, but it's not impossible."
While waiting silently, Locke Galahad began to calculate in his mind to cope with the changes that would occur next.
Patter, patter—
Heavy footsteps sounded in the clinic corridor, getting closer.
Then, with a creak,
the door to the office where Locke Galahad was located was violently pushed open.
The person who arrived was Lucien.
The moment he saw Locke Galahad, he suddenly accelerated, turning into a black figure as he rushed right in front of him,
and then grabbed Locke Galahad by the neck, lifting him high and pinning him against the wall.

Looking at the prompt in his mind, despite being grabbed, Locke Galahad appeared very calm and did not show any panic.
It could only be said that this quest came at just the right time and fit his plan perfectly.
Looking at Lucien, who was dressed in leather, with long hair and a weathered face, a smile appeared on the corner of Locke Galahad's mouth, even though he was being held:
"Lucien, I think there are some things we can discuss properly."
"You actually recognize me?"
Lucien narrowed his eyes subconsciously, feeling somewhat surprised by his words, so the right hand gripping Locke Galahad began to tighten involuntarily.
Mainly because he thought he had walked into a trap.
"Naturally, I recognize you. How could I not know the famous Werewolf Clan leader, Lucien?"
Locke Galahad remained calm and, based on the knowledge he had learned from the movie, continued to make things up:
"After all, I am also a descendant of the Corvin Clan. It shouldn't be surprising that I know a few things."
Seeing Locke Galahad so composed, a cold smile appeared on Lucien's face, and he snorted coldly:
"You don't seem to be afraid of me? Knowing that I am a werewolf, yet you still dare to be so composed. Are you truly not afraid of death?"
When saying this, he stared fixedly at Locke Galahad's eyes, wanting to read some information from them.
"No, no, no. I think you have misunderstood one thing, Mr. Lucien..."
Facing the threat, the smile on the corner of Locke Galahad's mouth deepened, and he said with great confidence: "Just by yourself, it won't be that easy to kill me."
"Oh, really? Then I must give it a try."
Lucien didn't know where Locke Galahad's confidence came from; could it be that he thought he wouldn't dare to kill?
As he spoke, he was about to wring his neck.
Locke Galahad, however, wore a mocking smile and stared at him nonchalantly:
"I suggest, Mr. Lucien, that you had better not try. Otherwise, who knows who might end up dead."
He dared to do this, of course, because he had something to rely on.
Just a moment ago, while talking to Lucien, Locke Galahad had already drawn the revolver he had prepared from under his arm.
And then precisely pressed the muzzle against Lucien's chest, right over his heart.
As long as Lucien didn't stop after his warning, he would fire.
At this moment, Lucien also felt the coldness emitted by the hollow muzzle pointed at his heart, but in response, he simply threw his head back and laughed:
"Hahaha, you seem a bit too naive. Since you know I am a werewolf, you don't think you can kill me with such ordinary means, do you?"
"You can try and see."
Lucien stared intently at Locke Galahad's face, and soon his smile froze.
Because he was shocked to find that the expression on Locke Galahad's face hadn't changed at all; he was still just as calm and not afraid in the least.
This made him afraid to exert any more force.
After the two of them stood in a standoff for a few seconds, Locke Galahad felt the pressure on his neck subsiding,
so he couldn't help but pull the corner of his mouth and smile: "It seems you have figured it out. Then I suppose I don't need to explain any further. Can we sit down and have a proper talk now?"
"You have silver nitrate bullets in your gun??"
