162: Chapter 163 A Minor Twist
Chapter 162: A Small Twist
Locke leaned against his car, watching the two men running in place, then glanced at the excited Little Seven. He could roughly guess what they were experiencing within the illusion.
"Alright, stop playing. Make them stop."
Mainly noticing people starting to gather around, Locke immediately told Little Seven to stop her game of toyng with the two men to keep the impending disturbance to a minimum.
At the same time, he intentionally or unintentionally radiated an aura that warned others not to approach, scaring away those who wanted to come closer to watch the spectacle.
Other passersby who originally wanted to spectate immediately stopped in their tracks upon sensing the faint pressure and the temperament emanating from him.
"But I haven't played enough yet," Little Seven pouted, not stopping immediately.
Ever since she started following Locke, she hadn't found an opportunity to toy with people like this for a long time.
Toying with others was her nature; otherwise, she wouldn't have proactively pulled Locke into an illusion the first time they met.
"Hmm? Little Seven, have you forgotten what I told you?"
Seeing her disobedience, Locke's voice instantly dropped several degrees in temperature. Little Seven felt the change in Locke's mood and couldn't help but shudder, immediately suppressing her desire to keep playing. "I understand..."
Simultaneously, she created many obstacles within the illusion, pinning Albert and Lanus in place so they didn't dare move.
"Master, you can ask them now."
Locke looked at the two men standing straight as if in a military posture before him and nodded with satisfaction.
"If you're obedient, I'll let you play to your heart's content when we encounter bad guys in the future."
"Really? Then Master, we have a deal. Next time, you can't let me off so easily."
Hearing Locke's promise, Little Seven's somewhat dejected mood brightened up again.
Locke felt relieved seeing her like that. As expected, whether in his past life or in the American Horror Story World, making empty promises was a very effective tactic.
Having soothed Little Seven, he then turned his gaze toward Albert and Lanus.
"Little Seven, can you make them follow me into that alleyway to talk? There are a bit too many people here."
"Don't worry, Master, I can handle that much."
Little Seven shook her head proudly. "They're just two ordinary people. I can do whatever I want with them."
Following that, she shifted her form and adjusted the environment within the illusion, scaring the two into a frantic run.
"Oh my god, what is this? What on earth have we encountered?"
"It's the owner of that car! Shit, your cousin actually had us investigate him? Did he even care if we lived or died?"
Lanus and Albert completely failed to realize they had fallen into an illusion. At this moment, looking at the black-clothed figure behind them with eight tentacles and a completely non-human form, they naturally fled in terror.
"Don't run! Didn't you want to investigate my information?"
Little Seven's avatar in the illusion was beyond happy seeing the two of them fleeing for their lives.
“Kukuku, these two mortals actually dared to provoke Master. Then I'll use Master's image to give them a good scare.”
"Waah, please let us go! We really didn't mean to provoke you!"
"That's right! I have old parents and young children, and I'm about to retire! I was only following someone else's orders to investigate your information!"
Lanus and Albert were so terrified by Little Seven's avatar that they followed behind Locke into the small alley beside the bar.
In the illusion, the two seemed to be sprinting for their lives, but in the real world, they were merely shuffling forward in tiny steps.
Because of this, the surrounding people stopped paying attention to them.
Once the two entered the alley, Locke couldn't help but wrinkle his nose. Following the scent with his gaze, he finally discovered that Lanus and Albert had somehow been scared into wetting themselves.
"Little Seven, look at what you've done," Locke said rather irritably, raising a hand to cover his nose.
Little Seven stuck out her crow-like triangular tongue, then turned her head away and whispered, "Wasn't it you, Master, who asked me to bring them here?"
"I asked you to bring them here, I didn't ask you to turn them into this."
Locke rolled his eyes, momentarily speechless. Little Seven flapped her wings twice and continued to defend herself, "But if I didn't scare them, how could they have followed me here so obediently?"
"Scare them?" Locke frowned slightly, suddenly having a bad feeling. "Whose image did you use in the illusion?"
"Caw— Caw—" Little Seven, who had been getting carried away, immediately shut her mouth and refused to speak.
"What on earth did you turn me into to scare two police officers into wetting themselves?"
Locke smiled helplessly seeing her like this. Little Seven guiltily turned her head away, not daring to look at him.
"Fine, considering you were doing this for me, I'll forgive you this once."
"Caw— Thank you, Master."
"Only this once. If you use my image in the future, you can't turn me into some bizarre monster again."
"Caw, I know, Master. Hurry and ask them your questions; my illusion only has 5 minutes left."
Locke didn't dwell on it further after hearing Little Seven's words and immediately turned his attention to the two men in front of him.
"What are your names, and why were you investigating me?"
With every sentence he spoke, Little Seven used his image in the illusion to ask the same question, using intimidation to force the two to answer.
"My name is Lanus, and he— he's called Albert. We're partners."
In reality, Lanus answered the question while his body couldn't help but tremble.
"I wanted to use your information to seek an opportunity to join the mysterious organization behind America."
""
"And you? What about you?"
"I— I did it for my child's formula money! Please, great one, spare my life!"
Albert was so terrified in the illusion that he fell directly to his knees, and in reality, he knelt before Locke simultaneously.
America, mysterious organization, bounty?
Locke thought for a moment after hearing their words, then continued to ask, "What is the contact information for that cousin of yours in the secret organization?"
"0001—9842—79823."
Lanus didn't even hesitate; under Little Seven's intimidation, he immediately betrayed his cousin.
Locke took out his phone and noted the number, then continued, "Delete all information related to me from your phones. Remember, leave nothing behind. Also, if I find out that a single word you told me was a lie, I will find you again."
In the real world, Locke's voice was very calm, but in the illusion, the Locke that Little Seven had manifested had completely lost his human form. Before the two men, he had turned into a mountain-like Flesh Ball monster. Not only that, to increase the horror of the image, Little Seven had covered 'Locke's' entire body with densely packed, blinking eyes, and in the very center of the Flesh Ball was a huge mouth full of sharp teeth—a mouth large enough to swallow both of them in one bite.
Therefore, facing the threat of such a terrifying monster, both men nodded frantically, while simultaneously raising their hands to swear to the heavens.
"Great— Great one, don't worry! We swear to God that we will never reveal any information about your identity! I won't tell anyone who asks!"
"We will definitely keep our mouths shut, and if we've said a single lie to you, then let us go to hell!"
Locke looked at their sincere expressions, nodded, adjusted the brim of his hat, and turned to leave.
"Little Seven, I'll leave the rest to you. I'll give you three minutes. Fly back once you've finished with them."
“Kukuku, Master, just leave it to me. I'll definitely make sure they never dare to provoke you again.”
Little Seven knew her chance to show off had come. She flew from Locke's shoulder and landed on the wall beside the two men. Then, in the remaining time, she began to indulge her wicked sense of humor in the illusion, torturing them.
"Hahaha! You shall be spared the death penalty, but you won't escape punishment! I'll let you out once I've had my fill of fun!"
"No—!"
In the illusion, Albert and Lanus shed tears of regret, terrified by Little Seven.
As for Locke, he didn't return directly to the bar after coming out of the alley.
Instead, he moved at high speed to a phone booth, intending to use this anonymous phone to call and warn the other party.
However, although the green phone booth was not being used for calls, there were two Black people inside hugging and making out.
Both of them were in an extremely excited state, clearly having just taken some drugs.
"Oh, oh, ah, baby, come on, come on, don't stop."
"Honey, do you know you're playing with fire? I'm about to come in."
"Oh, come on baby, come on—"
These two had clearly mistaken the phone booth for their own living room, completely disregarding the public setting. Seeing that they were about to proceed to the next step, Locke frowned and stepped forward, pounding hard on the glass window of the phone booth.
Thump, thump, thump, thump!
The harsh and dull sound rang in the ears of the two druggies, nearly scaring the man's 'little brother' into shrinking back.
His 'good business' interrupted, he immediately pushed the Black woman away, clenched his fist, and slammed it hard against the inner wall of the phone booth. "Fu*k, son of a bitch, which guy is so blind to dare disturb my business?"
The Black woman pinned beneath him was also unhappy about the interruption. She adjusted her messy collar and followed the man as they turned around, prepared to go out and find trouble with Locke.
"Fu*k, kid, if you've got guts, don't leave! Didn't you see someone was using this?"
Seeing Locke's hand still resting on the phone booth, the man hitched up his half-falling jeans, shoved the door open, and stepped out, intending to teach Locke a small lesson.
Although he was only about 1.7 meters tall while Locke was over 1.9 meters—a completely different weight class...
The dreadlocked man, high on drugs, had long forgotten the concept of measuring the strength of both sides before starting a fight.
He only knew that Locke had interrupted his fun, so he was going to teach Locke a harsh lesson.
He had completely forgotten that he was only interrupted because he had occupied a public facility for his deeds.
Locke looked at the aggressive man without his expression changing a bit. Several white people nearby who were watching the show saw the conflict brewing and quickly pulled out their phones to record.
"Woo-hoo!"
"Fight! Fight!"
"Hey, bro, give this drugged-up guy a lesson. Let him know this is white people's territory!"
"Woo-hoo, come on, kill him!"
The white people in the crowd supported Locke, while the Black people cheered for the man.
"Fu*k, Jeremy, hurry up and give this lanky white guy a lesson! Don't let him look down on us!"
""
"Kill him! Let him know the power of us Black people!"
"Jeremy, tell them who the masters of America are! Don't back down!"
Locke didn't care at all about what the two groups of spectators were saying; he remained standing calmly in front of the phone booth. After all, whether they were Black or white, they were all outsiders to him.
Skin color held no great significance in his eyes now.
The drug-addled man named Jeremy, spurred on by the other Black people, instantly lost his head. With bloodshot eyes, he glared at Locke, pulled back his jacket, and revealed a Glock tucked into his waistband. "Idiot, if you don't want to die, get lost right now."
Faced with his threat, Locke didn't take him seriously at all, not even batting an eyelid.
His dismissive attitude immediately enraged Jeremy, who had only a shred of logic left in his anger. "Fu—"
k, you asked for this!"
As he spoke, he held his waistband with his left hand and reached down with his right to draw the gun. However, before his hand could even touch the Glock's grip, Locke moved even faster, snatching the gun from his waist first. He pressed the muzzle directly against Jeremy's forehead and said in a very flat tone: "Now, if you don't want your head to pop like a flower, take your 'Black Pearl' and get lost."
The icy chill from the dark muzzle instantly cleared Jeremy's head. He hadn't even seen how Locke had snatched the gun from him.
Not just him—the crowd of Black and white onlookers all had their mouths wide open, wearing expressions of utter shock.
Everyone's throat moved in an unconscious swallow; clearly, this was far beyond their expectations.
After all, once a gun is pulled, the outcome should have been decided.
The group of white people had originally thought Locke would be scared away by the gun or would be finished off by Jeremy with an American-style quick draw, but they never expected this situation.
Disarming someone with bare hands!
To step forward and take the gun into one's own hand just as the other person was about to draw—what an exaggerated scene.
Setting aside hand speed, just the courage to attempt a disarming move while facing a potential bullet was something not many people possessed.
Hiss—!
