The confrontation between the two created quite a commotion.
The earlier intense gunfire had already drawn everyone's attention, and after the two fully unleashed their Extraordinary Ability and went all out, it was as if giants were running around upstairs, causing the entire castle to shake slightly.
The ordinary Vampires living on the lower levels felt it particularly clearly; after all, with the violent tremors and dust flying, it was hard not to notice.
In just a moment, almost everyone in the castle sensed that something was wrong.
This extraordinary commotion immediately alerted most of the Vampires.
Coupled with the earlier incident where Emilia was attacked and killed, the Vampires immediately grabbed their gear and rushed out of their rooms:
"What's going on? Has the Werewolf pack attacked?"
"I don't know. Sounds like it's coming from upstairs?"
"Isn't that where the masters' rooms are?"
"Should we..."
The group of Vampires looked at each other in the corridor, unsure of what to do, until finally, an older Vampire stepped forward and made the final call:
"Regardless of the reason, given the commotion, it is our duty to go and check it out."
He then took the lead, walking at the front and guiding the group toward where the commotion originated.
What shocked all the Vampires was, of course, not a Werewolf sneak attack, but the commotion caused by the two moves Locke Galahad and Kraven had just exchanged.
Even though Locke Galahad's two strikes just now had been fierce and seemingly met with no resistance, he had actually channeled his full strength through his feet when he delivered them.
When this astonishing force was transmitted to the ground, it caused a tremor like an earthquake.
Combined with Kraven's superhuman charge, this was what had caught the Vampires' attention.
Otherwise, if it had just been gunfire, surely no one would have cared.
The group soon arrived at Serena's room, and upon reaching the entrance, they saw scattered bullet casings, as well as the door and walls that had been battered to shreds.
"What happened here?"
The group of Vampires crowded around, filled with questions, and as soon as they stepped into the room, they saw the figures of Locke Galahad and Serena embracing.
Beside them lay a corpse with only half its head remaining, a corpse they recognized as Kraven.
The scene before them suddenly struck their minds like a bolt of lightning.
Every Vampire widened their eyes, held their breath, and stared at the scene in disbelief.
"This..."
That was Kraven who had died.
He was almost the strongest person besides the Elders.
And now, he was just lying there quietly, motionless, no longer possessing the arrogant demeanor he had at the meeting a few days ago.
Seeing this, everyone subconsciously turned their shocked gazes toward Serena, suspecting that she had killed Kraven.
They instinctively ignored Locke Galahad, the real culprit, as he had only become a Vampire a few days ago.
So, no matter how they thought about it, they couldn't imagine that it was Locke Galahad who had personally split Kraven's head open like that.
Serena, who was being intimate with Locke Galahad, heard footsteps and immediately snapped back to reality, wiped her mouth, and discovered that a group of people were staring fixedly at her.
This immediately made her feel a bit embarrassed.
She immediately blushed and lowered her head.
She completely failed to notice that the looks everyone was giving her were not of idle curiosity, but of shock and disbelief, mixed with panic and confusion—several complex emotions were swirling in the eyes of the Vampires.
Although everyone had known about the animosity between Serena and Kraven over these past few days, they hadn't expected Serena to have the courage and the strength to kill Kraven inside the Vampire Base.
This was undoubtedly a world-shattering event.
"Lady Serena, could you please explain to us what happened here?"
The group stammered, and finally, the leading older Vampire spoke up.
"Ah!" Serena, who had been leaning against Locke Galahad's chest with her head down, let out a cry like a startled rabbit, then quickly explained, "It's not what you think. He and I just have a normal superior-subordinate relationship; there is nothing between us..."
"Huh...?" Question marks appeared on the heads of all the Vampires; for a moment, they didn't understand what Serena was talking about.
Clearly, the two sides were not focused on the same thing.
Serena didn't care too much about Kraven's death at this moment, and since her heart was completely filled with Locke Galahad, she was speaking incoherently.
So, faced with their questions, she instinctively wanted to explain.
"Lady Serena, I think you've misunderstood me. I want to ask why Lord Kraven ended up like this?"
This time, the old Vampire's voice was loud and clear. Serena heard it perfectly and immediately realized what he meant. Her mind raced, trying to find a way to clear Locke Galahad of suspicion.
"Uh... Kraven attempted to assault me, and while struggling to resist, I..."
Unlike her panic, Locke Galahad appeared much calmer. He kept one arm around her waist, refusing to let go, and then scanned the Vampires with a calm gaze.
Before she could finish her explanation, Locke Galahad reached out and immediately covered her mouth, then shook his head with a smile:
"Serena, at this point, there's no need for you to make excuses for me. If I did it, I did it. It has nothing to do with you."
Hearing this, the Vampires looked at Locke Galahad in confusion, their brains instantly turning into mush, and a flurry of questions arose in their minds:
"What does this guy mean?"
"He means he killed Kraven? How is that possible?"
"Does he really think he'll be praised for killing Kraven?"
Locke Galahad didn't care about their suspicious gazes; he simply raised his eyes calmly, met everyone's gaze, and said coolly:
"Kraven wanted to kill me, so he died."
His tone was flat yet filled with disdain, making all the Vampires think they had misheard.
"Huh..."
It was precisely this blunt truth that left the faces of all the Vampires filled with disbelief.
In their eyes, this was simply a fairy tale.
They could see clearly that Kraven had essentially been beaten alive by the other party, who had then torn off half his head.
Therefore, they believed that a weak, rookie Vampire like Locke Galahad could not possibly have defeated Kraven in a head-on fight.
If he had been killed by a sneak attack, they might have believed what Locke Galahad said,
but for this kind of direct combat, they felt that in the entire Vampire Base, besides Serena, only the two Elders could have done it.
And how could a Vampire like Locke Galahad, who had only joined a few days ago, have managed to do it?
"That's impossible, kid, don't joke around."
"How powerful is our Lord Kraven? How could a frail person like you be his match?"
"Although we know you have a good relationship with Lady Serena, this is a capital crime. You'd better think carefully before you speak."
"This is a crime that a lowly, minor Vampire like you cannot bear."
"A Vampire like you could be easily handled by even me; how could you possibly be Lord Kraven's match? It's simply absurd."
