111: Kneeling service

In the secret chamber, Old Man Time was truly so angry that his mustache twitched and his eyes bulged; he hadn't expected this guy to be so articulate.

However, thinking that if he could recruit this kid, Locke Galahad, under the Goddess of the Night, he might gain the Goddess's favor later on, he endured it.

Then, closing his eyes, he said painfully:

"I will upgrade the item I'm giving you by one tier; I'll give you at least a Sequence 8 item. You should be satisfied with that now."

Upon hearing this, Locke Galahad's eyes lit up, and he immediately raised his hand, switching the faith his parents had instilled in his predecessor since childhood.

"Goddess of the Night above, your most devout believer—Locke Galahad, extends the highest greetings to you here. I hope you do not feel lonely in the night and continue to keep smiling."

Seeing his expression change so quickly, Time felt quite cheated and could only close his eyes.

He immediately withdrew his mental strength from the puppet and stopped looking at him.

In a very hidden above-ground secret chamber somewhere in New York, Time's eyes suddenly lit up, followed by a murmur inside the chamber:

"Locke Galahad is truly a cunning kid. I don't know how Lady Goddess took a liking to him; surely it couldn't be because she was taken by his glib tongue and flowery words..."

The more Old Man Time thought about it, the more he felt it was possible; after all, a Goddess is a Goddess, no matter how much of a deity she is, she still carries the word 'female'.

However, the next second, a gust of eerie wind blew by,

making Time realize immediately that he seemed to have offended the Goddess just now, so he hurriedly knelt down to beg for mercy before the statue of the Goddess of the Night.

"Goddess above, Time..."

In the secret chamber, as Time withdrew his mental strength,

the puppet in the conference room suddenly lost its vitality and fell directly to the ground.

Seeing this, Locke Galahad stood up straight, walked up to the puppet with some curiosity, and reached out his hand.

After confirming that the puppet had been abandoned, he returned to his original cold expression,

and then shook his head and sighed:

"Time is indeed a thousand-year-old fox; he is truly cautious. He just abandoned his puppet without hesitation; he's certainly decisive..."

"As expected, not everyone is a fool like Kraven."

The reason he had previously asked Serena to unlock the chains was with the intention of letting this puppet return.

Because as long as Time couldn't bear to lose this puppet and recalled it to his side, Locke Galahad could use the bat to find his location,

and perhaps even use this to uncover Old Man Time's true identity.

But now that the puppet was dead, his plan had fallen through.

However, it was fine; being able to squeeze so much out of the other party, he was already very satisfied.

"My Lord, how should this corpse be disposed of?"

Emilia, who hadn't interjected for a long Time, seeing that the puppet was dead, immediately stepped forward and knelt on one knee to ask for Locke Galahad's opinion.

"Hmm, just drag it to the cell for now. After confirming it won't resurrect, just find a place to dispose of it."

"Yes."

Emilia immediately stood up, grabbed the puppet's feet, dragged it out of the conference room, and threw it into the hallway outside.

Immediately after, she turned back, glanced at Locke Galahad, licked her lips, and then quickly locked the conference room door thoroughly from the inside.

"Now, finally, no outsiders can disturb the happy Time between me and my Lord."

Emilia's heart had long been itching uncontrollably.

She couldn't help it; just standing beside Locke Galahad, she would be drawn in by the aura of her Lord and uncontrollably become 'damp'.

At this moment, the clothing on her body had already been soaked through by the moisture brought on by this 'dampness'.

"My Lord...!"

To prevent anyone from disturbing them later, she even slid both iron bolts used to defend against outside invaders into place on the door.

On the other side, Locke Galahad did not notice her unusual behavior,

because all his attention was on the two booklets he had just obtained from Old Man Time.

Whether it was the prayer ritual or the techniques for manipulating the Extraordinary Factor, he wanted to understand them all.

Especially the book containing the techniques for the Extraordinary Factor; he was currently most interested in that.

Because once he learned these techniques, his chances of handling Marcus and William would greatly increase.

He wouldn't end up like last Time, where a full-strength sword strike only cut through the opponent's skin, failing to even chop off a single claw.

Locke Galahad, with little interest in anything else, sat on the bronze stool and began to flip through the nameless booklet by the light.

However, just as he opened it, he noticed something unusual coming from below.

"Hmm? What's going on?"

This sudden ambush immediately interrupted his train of thought; he stopped flipping the book, lowered his head, and looked under the conference table.

He saw Emilia providing him with kneeling service.

"Emilia, what are you doing!"

Emilia's face flushed red; she grasped the gear stick without letting go, her eyes darting away as she looked at him, and she stammered:

"Mmm... I... haven't held the gear stick for a long Time, and today I just wanted to take the opportunity to go for a drive with my Lord; is there anything wrong with that?"

"You're not wrong."

Locke Galahad closed the parchment scroll in his hand, then reached out and pressed his hands on Emilia's shoulders, rolled his eyes, and said meaningfully:

"Next Time, if you have this kind of need, just say it directly. Why do it so stealthily, acting like a thief?"

"You have to know that although our relationship is that of Lord and Star Slave, it doesn't mean you can't make some requests of me."

Locke Galahad gently stroked the hair at the back of Emilia's head, his tone very gentle.

"My Lord, I... didn't I see you were focused on reading and couldn't bear to disturb you..."

"Don't you think you're disturbing me now?"

A strange smile hung on Locke Galahad's face as he looked down at Emilia, then he sensed it in his heart,

and realized that the star mark on Emilia's lower abdomen seemed to have weakened a bit.

"It must be because of the frequent use for communication."

Honestly, he had almost forgotten.

The [Star Slave Contract] mark on Emilia's body might weaken over Time and needed to be reinforced periodically.

And the method of reinforcement was the same as when the contract was first planted.

Emilia was so flushed by Locke Galahad's question that she couldn't help it, but she couldn't bear to let go, so she could only stubbornly continue:

"My Lord, just sit comfortably and read your book; my shifting movements will be very, very gentle and absolutely, absolutely won't disturb you."

After saying that, she gave it her all and, regardless of what else Locke Galahad wanted to say, started to immerse herself in her driving work.

This car was not simple.

V8 engine, 520 horsepower,

running at full power, it could even smash through steel plates.

How could Locke Galahad possibly read a book at this Time? He gripped the bronze armrests with both hands, slowly lifted his head, and closed his eyes.

He wasn't asleep; he was just enjoying the thrill of the car speeding down the highway.
