50: kill!

Victor did not care about her pleas at all; instead, because of her appearance, his intent to kill Locke grew even stronger.

Serena's behavior reminded him of the memory of his daughter, Sophia, pleading before him for the werewolf Lucien.

How similar those two scenes were.

Two people he regarded as daughters were begging him for the sake of a man; how could he endure that?

"His death would be for the best for the entire Vampire clan. Since he has already become a Vampire, he must have prepared himself to sacrifice for the greater good."

"I..." Serena knew the outcome was set, but she could not bring herself to kill Locke,

so after calming down, she immediately began calculating in her mind how to notify Locke at this moment.

Serena believed that as long as Locke sensed the danger, with his intelligence, he would surely realize something was wrong, then quickly flee the Vampire Base and never appear again.

"What do I do? What do I do? What do I do? What should I do now?"

"If it were you, what would you do?"

She hung her head, thinking frantically about how to convey the message to Locke from deep within this 50-meter underground secret chamber.

"Hmm, convey? A message?"

Thinking of this, Serena quietly reached her hand into her pocket.

Following her memory, she pressed the number keys and dialed Locke's phone.

Pulling such a stunt right under Victor's nose was no different than courting death, but to let Locke survive, Serena had to do it.

All she was thinking about at this moment was that even if she risked being discovered and executed, she had to get the message to Locke, giving him a chance to survive.

In his room, Locke was taking inventory of his items, calculating how to reasonably use them in the upcoming battle.

The next second, he felt his phone vibrate.

Taking it out to look, he discovered it was indeed Serena calling, which couldn't help but raise many questions in his mind.

"Serena should be in Victor's room right now; why would she insist on calling me at this time?"

Locke's mind was full of questions, and the next second he thought of a very critical point, then shook his head:

"No, that's not right... Given Serena's personality, she would absolutely not call me at a time like this. Something must have happened that I don't know about."

Due to the recovery of his mental strength, his mind was now exceptionally clear, so he quickly figured out this logic.

This was mainly because, when they exchanged phone numbers that day, he had told Serena and Erica that if they encountered an emergency, they could call his number.

Taking a deep breath and carrying a heavy heart, he answered the call. However, after connecting, he did not speak immediately, but instead pricked up his ears to listen.

Sure enough, just as he had anticipated, Serena on the other end of the line did not speak to him, but instead seemed to be arguing with someone.

"Serena, I can give you two days to say goodbye." Victor closed his eyes and then offered a self-righteous condition:

"Two days from now, I want to see his corpse here."

Serena hung her head, as if she were thinking, and did not reply for a long time.

In reality, she had just heard the slight notification sound of the call connecting.

So she chose to deliberately delay to give Locke more reaction time, allowing him the greatest possibility of escape.

Not only that, she even prayed silently in her heart:

"You must understand my hint, hurry and escape. This is all I can do for you now. You must stay alive; the promise I made to you hasn't been fulfilled yet, you cannot die..."

Beside her, Kraven, watching the somewhat flustered Serena, felt secretly smug in his heart:

"Serena, you didn't expect this, did you? This time, you have truly lifted a rock only to drop it on your own feet."

He couldn't be happier right now.

By making an issue out of Locke's identity, he had cleverly shifted suspicion away from himself, instigated conflict between Serena and Victor, and could even use Victor's hand to get rid of Locke, a thorn in his side.

He had considered these things before coming here, which was why he could be so calm.

Seeing his plan succeed, he couldn't help but feel a bit smug, but seeing that Victor was actually willing to grant Serena two days, he became a bit anxious.

He knew about the relationship between Locke and Serena.

Let alone two days, even if he gave Serena another 10 days, he estimated that Serena would not kill Locke; she might even risk her life to personally help Locke escape.

So he took the initiative and offered:

"Elder Victor, why not let me handle him, to erase from this world someone like him who might tarnish the Vampire's noble bloodline for you."

"You—Kraven, I advise you to think again." The originally calm Serena suddenly showed signs of flying into a rage.

"He is my person; it is not your place to intervene."

She might not be able to say anything to Victor right now, but she certainly wasn't afraid of Kraven, so her words carried a hint of a threat.

But Kraven wore a look of disdain, choosing to ignore her threat directly, and continued speaking to Victor:

"Lord Victor, perhaps you do not know that the man and Serena have a close relationship. If they are given too much time, I fear the two of them will flee the Vampire Base together. Why not let me do it instead? I will absolutely not disappoint you."

"Hmm... This matter must be done by her personally; no one else can take her place."

Victor closed his eyes, directly naming Serena to take action personally. Seeing this, Serena immediately pleaded, but at this moment her address had changed from 'Foster Father' to 'Elder':

"Elder Victor, could you grant me a few more days? I would like to take him around the Vampire Base a bit more..."

At this moment, she had no feelings left for Victor; the reason she was still pleading was to delay for time.

However, before she could finish her sentence, Victor opened his eyes and interrupted her:

"It seems that just as Kraven said, the feelings between you and him... are... very deep!"

When saying this, Victor's tone was very heavy; obviously, he was very dissatisfied with the fact that she might have fallen in love with Locke.

Sure enough, the next second he slammed his hand on the bronze armrest, delivering the final verdict:

"Within 24 hours, I want to see his corpse appear before me. If you can do that, I will choose to forgive the mistake you have committed this time."

Serena was silent. Kraven then hurriedly indicated: "Elder Victor, since I do not have the honor to take her place, why not let me act as a witness to supervise Serena in completing this mission?"

"Very well, I approve."

After saying this, Victor closed his eyes; the meaning was clear: urging the two to hurry up and go kill Locke.

Serena had no choice but to be monitored by Kraven as she exited the secret chamber.

And on the other end of the phone, Locke, who had been listening to the whole thing, had his brows furrowed together.

He knew that this call from Serena was a signal for him to hurry and escape.

However, Victor making a move was exactly what he had been hoping for; how could he possibly leave?

Rather, this was exactly what he had been waiting for.

At the same time, a task popped up before his eyes.
