117: who!
Ah Fu behaved like a cat that had just eaten something delicious, looking utterly innocent.
Beside them, Locke looked at the two getting along harmoniously, and a smile involuntarily appeared on his face. He then continued to ask:
“If you like this black tea, I will arrange for the Vampires under me to brew a pot for you every day.”
“Really? My Lord.” Hearing this, Ah Fu raised its head and looked at Locke with eyes like it was gazing upon a god. It was clear that it truly loved this sweet drink.
“Of course. Why would I lie to you? Forget one pot, I can give you ten if you want.”
“That's wonderful! Then, can I bring my concubines to drink it with me?”
“Ha, concubines?” Locke suspected he had misheard. He was incredulous: “You... have concubines!”
“Yes, since I am now the boss of the colony, I naturally inherited quite a few beautiful female bats from the previous bat boss.”
Ah Fu explained sheepishly: “And I thought, since this thing my Lord bestowed upon me is so delicious, I should reward them with some too, so they can also bask in my Lord's radiance.”
“Sigh... fine.”
Locke felt like Ah Fu had green light radiating from its head, but the animal world was different from the human world, so he didn't say much more.
“Now, first answer my questions. Tomorrow or the day after, I will be going to subjugate Marcus and Wei Min. Information about your abilities is very important to me.”
“Understood, My Lord. I can just show you directly.”
“Alright, begin your performance.”
Locke nodded. After all, talking about it wasn't as direct as demonstrating it.
It was easier to understand by seeing.
“Then I shall begin. My first skill is called Dark Concealment.”
As soon as the words fell, the dark red spherical Ah Fu vanished from the coffee table, completely invisible to the naked eye.
Locke nodded, then pulled out the [myriad spectacles] and put them on.
However, even with the viewing spectacles on, he could only faintly make out a slight outline of Ah Fu.
This alone was enough to show how powerful the skill was, so he praised it sincerely:
“Not bad, not bad. This really is a good skill, but it doesn't seem very relevant to combat.”
“Hehe, My Lord, I can use this skill to ambush them. I can definitely catch them completely off guard.”
“That's true.”
Locke nodded, and immediately made new arrangements for Ah Fu's role in the subjugation plan for the following day.
“What about your other skill? Show me that too.”
“Hehe, My Lord, my other skill is called Mimetic Camouflage.”
As Ah Fu spoke, it revealed its true form from the invisible state, and then mimicked the appearance of a white 'gugu' chicken.
This made it look even rounder.
When Locke saw this adorable white owl, his affection for it grew even stronger.
After all, having watched Harry Potter since childhood, he had always longed for a Hedwig that could deliver letters for him.
But only after he grew up did he realize that Hogwarts didn't exist, and a letter-delivering Hedwig was impossible to keep as a pet.
Although Ah Fu's skill couldn't be called extremely powerful, it indirectly fulfilled this wish of his.
“Excellent. This skill of yours is also very good. I like it a lot.”
“Hehe, as long as My Lord likes it,”
Ah Fu said, while consecutively changing its appearance:
“And I can become more than just an owl; I can also turn into a crow, an eagle—anything with a similar body size to mine, I can transform into it.”
“No need. The owl is fine. From now on, you will show yourself as an owl when you are in front of me.”
Locke wasn't very interested in the other animals.
“Yes!” Ah Fu immediately transformed back into the appearance of an owl.
Meanwhile, Serena, watching Ah Fu continuously change its appearance, had a look of utter astonishment on her face.
“Whew, Locke, your pet seems incredibly powerful!”
Locke smiled.
“It's not just my pet; it can be yours too. Later, when we go to deal with Marcus, I will arrange for it to be by your side to help you.”
“My Lord, I will certainly not fail your expectations. I will use all my strength to protect Lady Serena.”
Hearing Locke's words, the owl Ah Fu quickly spoke up to pledge its loyalty.
Locke waved his hand, “These two extraordinary skills of yours are actually not very useful for direct combat.”
“Uh, I... I thought my two extraordinary skills were very powerful.” The owl lowered its head.
“While they aren't powerful for direct combat, you can hide and act as the deciding factor at a crucial moment in the fight.”
After seeing Ah Fu's two extraordinary skills, Locke made a decision.
He immediately adjusted the previous plan to have it and Serena directly engage William.
“What do I need to do, My Lord?”
Although Ah Fu was an extraordinary creature, it was previously just an ordinary bat and lacked much experience fighting humans.
“It's simple. When the time comes, you will conceal your form and hide.”
Locke gently patted its round head and explained:
“Do not attack easily unless absolutely necessary, and only attack William or Marcus when they threaten Serena's safety.”
He believed that with Ah Fu's invisibility skill, neither Marcus nor William would be able to see through it.
After all, he could only barely locate the invisible Ah Fu even with an exceptionally heaven-defying bizarre item like the myriad spectacles.
How could Marcus and William possibly detect it with the naked eye alone?
He just needed Ah Fu to be like a needle hidden in the dark, used as a trump card to be deployed only when necessary.
“I understand, My Lord.” Ah Fu nodded, seemingly understanding yet not fully, its eyes especially firm.
“Alright. I've told you everything you need to know. You can go back now. I will call you when it's time to leave.”
“Squeak squeak squeak, but I just want to stay with My Lord.”
“Hmm!” Locke shot him a warning glance.
Frightened, Ah Fu immediately flapped its wings and flew back to its nest through the window.
Seeing it scared out of its wits, Locke couldn't help but want to laugh.
It wasn't that he disliked Ah Fu; it was mainly because he intended to spend some time with Serena this late at night, and keeping the bat around would be an eyesore.
After Ah Fu left, Locke got up and went to the window, forcing the window back into its original position and closing the glass pane.
“Serena, I think it's time for us to rest, isn't it?”
After many days of training, Serena was no longer as easily shy as before. She nodded at Locke and returned to the bed first.
In just a moment, she stripped off her pajamas completely, then lay sideways on the bed, staring at Locke with an extremely alluring gaze, and gently patted the bedding:
“Darling, come quickly.”
Seeing this, Locke's mouth curved into a smile and he walked toward the bed.
Just as he reached the bedside, the window he had just closed transmitted,
A sound of, knock, knock, knock,
Similar to a finger tapping or rapping.
This immediately made him alert. He turned back with a solemn expression, staring intently at the window:
“Who!”
