20: Goals and Plans

Seeing that Erica was present, Serena did not want to reveal the news she had just discovered, so she turned her head and hurriedly signaled to Locke.

"Ahem..."

The main thing was that in the entire castle, everyone knew that Erica was in love with Kraven.

However, she did not know that Erica was now influenced by a mysterious power, and the scales in her heart had slowly tipped toward Locke, who had just appeared.

He had invisibly become her potential rival.

Locke knew that Serena had likely discovered Lucien's true identity, and thus did not want to reveal this matter to Erica to prevent Kraven from finding out, which was why she was signaling him.

"It's fine, I think Erica is one of us, you can just say it directly."

However, Locke felt that even if Kraven found out, it wouldn't matter, since Lucien was on his side now.

Erica only then realized belatedly, pointing at herself: "Hmm, is this news that I'm not allowed to hear?"

"It's news related to Kraven, but it's not good news. Do you want to hear it?"

Serena nodded, not saying it out loud immediately, but testing the waters first.

After saying this, she stared intently at Erica, closely watching the expression on her face.

"If you're willing to tell me, then tell me. Anyway, I'm not really interested in that guy Kraven's affairs anymore; I can listen or I can not listen."

Erica, who should have been emotional, was behaving very calmly at this moment, perhaps even appearing indifferent.

At the same time, while saying this, she quietly looked past Serena and snuck a couple of glances at Locke.

"Uh..." Serena was a bit stunned; this was completely different from what she had imagined.

And Locke guessed that the other party might have been influenced by that mysterious figure in her dream. This possibility was very high.

So he patted Serena on the shoulder and nodded at her.

Serena stopped hesitating, lowered her head, and whispered: "I just found out that the Werewolf that chased us today is Lucien, whom Kraven claimed to have killed."

"You mean the Werewolf progenitor Lucien has been resurrected?" Erica opened her mouth in surprise.

Locke rolled his eyes at her, then shook his head, explaining: "I think Serena means that Kraven didn't kill Lucien, but rather that he was likely released by the Werewolves on purpose after he was defeated back then."

Hearing the two of them, Serena first glanced at Erica with disdain, then smiled at Locke with full approval: "Yes, that's exactly what I meant. Erica, your train of thought is truly unique; how could anyone in this world come back from the dead?"

"Blegh..." Erica said sheepishly, sticking out her tongue: "But I didn't expect that guy Kraven, looking so dignified, to have obtained all his honor by lying to us. It's a waste that I once trusted him so much, ptooey."

"Uh, you're right. His current status is entirely based on his fabricated claim that he killed Lucien."

Serena nodded: "I think this is the reason that guy Kraven didn't want me to investigate the Werewolves."

"I'm afraid it's not that simple; we need to prepare for the worst."

Locke feigned deep thought, stating the known information in a speculative tone: "It's possible that Kraven has already betrayed the Vampire Clan and defected to the Werewolf Clan; otherwise, given the hatred between the Werewolves and the Vampires, they would definitely not have let him go."

After Locke finished speaking, the expressions on Serena and Erica's faces became increasingly heavy.

What Locke said was something they had subconsciously ignored.

Or rather, it was something the two of them didn't want to think about. After all, if it were true that Kraven had already defected to the Werewolf Clan, then the future of the Vampires would be very bleak.

After all, when your current leader is already someone else's mole, what kind of future could you possibly have?

Who knows, the inside might have already been infiltrated into a sieve.

Because this means that however much combat power reserves you have, or how many weapons and equipment you have, others can know it all clearly.

In this way, if a conflict were to occur, the situation would definitely be one-sided.

Serena figured everything out and suddenly lost her sense of direction, even feeling a hint of despair. Lacking a pillar of support, she subconsciously raised her head and stared fixedly at Locke, just as she had done before at the hospital.

"What should we do now?"

Locke already had an idea in his mind. He rubbed his chin, pretended to think for a moment, and then nodded at Serena: "The best way now, of course, is to awaken the Elder behind you and let him uphold justice."

"That is impossible." Serena shook her head: "It is currently Elder Emilia's time to preside, so I cannot easily wake my sleeping adoptive father."

"Right." Erica also chimed in, while also deliberately explaining the rules of the Vampire Clan to Locke.

"The Vampire Clan has three elders with the greatest power; they will not appear at the same time. When one is in power, the other two will sleep, and then they alternate every 100 years to maintain the balance of power."

Locke pretended not to know and nodded, though in reality, he had long known this information. The reason he did this was just to see if he could get Serena to awaken Victor early, and then find an opportunity to unite with Lucien to kill him.

However, since Serena had no intention of awakening him for the time being, he could only proceed according to the original plan.

"If that's the case, then we can only wait until Elder Emilia returns and quietly tell her this news."

"Hmm." Serena nodded: "That's all we can do for now."

"But there is one problem."

"What problem?"

Locke said expressionlessly: "That is, since we can figure it out, Kraven can definitely figure it out too."

"What do you mean by that?" Erica was puzzled: "So what if that guy Kraven figures it out? Surely he wouldn't dare to make a move on Elder Emilia."

"Hmm." Locke looked at the two with a solemn expression: "Since he has already betrayed the Vampire Clan, it wouldn't be unreasonable for him to unite with the Werewolves to kill Elder Emilia."

The room suddenly fell into silence. Both Serena and Erica were quite worried, while Locke was completely unconcerned.

The reason he revealed the matter of Kraven wanting to kill Emilia to Serena in advance was naturally not because he wanted Serena to save Emilia.

It was mainly because he planned to wait until he turned Emilia into a Star Slave and hid her in the shadows, then used this to frame Kraven. This would make Kraven think things were still under his control, while also stimulating Serena to awaken the most deserving-of-death, Victor. This was killing three birds with one stone; why not do it?
