137: teasing the dog

The whole process looked extremely comical, making Locke look like he was teasing a dog. The mask in his hand was the frisbee, and Jason was the dog being teased. It's just that this dog was different from an ordinary dog; it was a bit troublesome to deal with.

Looking at the mask that had appeared in his hand once again, Locke was completely speechless: "I... damn it..."

He was stunned. Not only was Locke stunned, but Jason was also stunned.

Only Old Man Time, hiding in the darkness, was overjoyed to see the look of bewilderment on Locke's face. "Hehehe, silly boy, can't figure it out, can you? Hahaha."

Clearly, he was the mastermind behind this teasing incident; why the mask flew away and came back was all his doing behind the scenes.

Old Man Time's idea was also very simple: take advantage of this good opportunity to tease Locke and vent some of the frustration he had suffered during their previous cooperation negotiations.

He was happy now, but Jason was absolutely furious. "Aaaahhh!"

He let out a roar toward the sky, lowered his head, and charged toward Locke. At the same Time, he drew the machete and giant axe from his waist, looking as if he intended to mince Locke into meat paste.

Seeing that the other party was truly enraged, Locke widened his eyes. "I really want to give it back to you, believe me, I'm really not teasing you on purpose." "I don't know why it's like this either."

But this Time, the art of "talking therapy" was no longer effective. Jason wouldn't listen to him at all, convinced that he was the one playing tricks behind the scenes.

He charged at him with his head down, the momentum this Time even greater than when he had collided with Locke earlier.

Locke retreated while trying hard to throw the mask away again. But this Time, no matter how hard he tried, the mask stuck firmly to his hand, showing absolutely no sign of flying away.

"Damn it! Don't get me killed!" "Although I am very grateful that you saved me twice, you can't just keep clinging to me like this."

The situation was critical. Locke even used his left hand to pry and pull, trying to get the mask off his right hand. With a 'pop' sound, he actually succeeded, but he didn't know that this was something Old Man Time had done intentionally to tease him more. Otherwise, no matter how hard he tried, it would have been impossible to pull the mask off.

"Phew, success. Good mask, you go back first, I will come to pick you up."

Locke still thought it was the mysterious aura of the mask itself causing the trouble, so he whispered to soothe it again. "If you don't say anything, I'll take that as your agreement."

But when he intended to throw the mask away with his left hand, the same situation happened again. The mask stuck to his left hand again as if glued, not moving no matter how hard he tried.

"Who on earth is playing tricks!"

Seeing Jason getting closer and closer, Locke even prepared to take out his knife and sever his wrist to survive. Anyway, Jason only wanted the mask; he could just pick his hand back up and reattach it later.

"I'd better not find out who is pulling the strings behind this; I definitely won't forgive him."

However, just as he raised his knife and Jason was about to pounce on him with a big leap, Time in the entire room seemed to have suddenly frozen.

Jason's entire body was frozen in mid-air, and his action of swinging the knife was also fixed at the moment he raised it.

Although space was frozen, Locke's thoughts could still move. This bizarre scene made him feel terrified. "How on earth was this done? It's as if space itself has solidified!" "This..."

He dared not think any further; this sudden turn of events was completely beyond his current range of understanding.

Jason, frozen in mid-air, was similarly very panicked. This feeling of being suppressed by a high sequence made him very uneasy. He had glanced at the other party earlier, but he didn't expect the other party to make a move at this moment.

Just as Locke was very confused, a voice as ordinary as it could be rang out in the room.

"I thought you big guy had some major feud with my little guy here. It turns out you wanted to snatch an extraordinary item from a believer of my Cult of the Goddess of Night. Then I can't be blamed for bullying the small with the big."

Locke rolled his eyes and finally saw the gradually appearing figure beside the statue of the Goddess of the Night.

The other party was wearing a pitch-black wizard robe, covering his whole body, revealing only a pair of large hands. The mysterious person wore a tall, pointed wizard hat on his head, and his face was covered by a mask with a crescent moon.

As he walked out, space began to flow again. The light in the air propagated normally, and dust began to fall under the influence of gravity. Jason, who had originally been leaping toward Locke, lost his powerful momentum and was directly suppressed to the ground, smashing out a huge crater.

Jason lay on the ground, turning his head to stare at Time, who was wearing a wizard robe, with great unwillingness. He looked somewhat aggrieved.

Seeing that the other party was dressed the same as the wizard he had seen in his dream, and that the other party only attacked Jason but not him, Locke roughly guessed the other party's identity. He put away the dagger he had prepared to sever his wrist, then paced to the front of the mysterious person and tested the waters:

"I suppose you are Old Man T..." Subconsciously turning his head and staring at him with a slight smile, Locke hurriedly swallowed his saliva and changed his words: "I suppose you are Mr. Old Man Time. It is truly better to meet than to hear of you; your strength is indeed as vast as the ocean, unfathomable." "Truly impressive, impressive."

As he spoke, to make his words more convincing, Locke even gave Time a thumbs up. By now, he was completely convinced; the strength the other party had just displayed made him change his attitude. He wasn't caving in; this was out of respect for the strong.

"Hmph, where did you kid get this big guy's mask?"

Time, seeing Locke, who hadn't paid much attention to him earlier, now showing respect, couldn't have been happier. As the saying goes, flattery will get you everywhere; this principle was equally applicable in America. Even a guy like Time found it quite satisfying.

However, to maintain the stature of an expert, he forced down the corners of his mouth and asked about the ins and outs of the matter in a flat tone.

Locke rolled his eyes, scratched his head, and said: "Uh, I accidentally picked it up when I went fishing by the lake last Time, hehe."

"Picked it up?" Time's tone was clearly full of disbelief. He then turned around and said in a very playful tone: "Then pick up another one for me to see now. As long as you can pick one up, I'll believe you!"

Locke revealed a smile of a conspiracy succeeded: "Then if I can pick one up, what do you say?"
