146: Sea Changes
Chapter 146: Great Change at Sea
In just the blink of an eye, Locke only felt a flash of white light before his eyes, and then he found that he and Serena had already appeared on the shore opposite the Sea Prison.
Standing on the shore, he looked toward the island prison from afar; his expression was no longer playful, but had returned to a state of expressionlessness.
"The strength of this nominal teacher of mine is a bit too powerful!"
Beside him, Serena's expression was one of immense surprise; clearly, what had just happened had exceeded her imagination.
After all, that method had flashed the two of them along with their two pets to a place hundreds of kilometers away in just an instant.
Having lived for centuries, she had never seen nor heard of such a method before today.
After she calmed her heart slightly, the lingering shock in her eyes had not yet faded as she turned her head to look at the equally pensive Locke.
"Dear, what exactly is the background of this teacher of yours? This method can practically be described as god-like."
Locke shook his head expressionlessly.
"I don't know either; I only know that he is a Transcendent belonging to the Church of the Night Goddess."
"However, the stronger his strength is, the better it is for me."
After taking one last deep look at the calm, isolated island in the distance, he turned around and set off on the road back to the city with Serena and the two pets.
The two of them stood in place for a short while before Elfo, having received the notice, flew over again piloting a helicopter.
As soon as he landed, he noticed a new raven on Locke's shoulder. The aura radiating unabashedly from the raven made him feel slightly uneasy, but he didn't ask too many questions. Instead, he bowed and said with a smile, "Lord, was your trip successful? Have those two rebels, Victor and William, been dealt with by you?"
Locke just nodded. Before he could explain, Xiao Qi, who was standing on his shoulder, seemed to have figured something out. She pulled her head out from under her wing and snorted in a very shrill female voice, "Hmph! What kind of eyesight do you have? Since my master is standing here, it naturally means those two guys are dead."
"With just those two sorts, how could they possibly be compared to my master?"
After saying that, she blinked her large eyes cautiously, stealing a glance at Locke's expression to see if her flattering words were of any use.
While Locke felt a bit surprised that she had submitted so quickly, there was no ripple on his face. He only tilted his head slightly to glance at her and said nothing.
Beside him, Serena simply wore a smile and reached out to pet Xiao Qi. However, Xiao Qi looked disgusted and tried to dodge, even subconsciously preparing to peck Serena's hand with her beak.
Noticing her small movements, Locke just gave her a slight glance without speaking, then let out a faint "Mmm." This sound was filled with an air of unquestionable authority, and when it fell upon Xiao Qi's ears, it immediately made her stop her movements. She could only endure her unhappiness and honestly accept Serena's caress.
Elfo witnessed everything from the side, and his shock can well be imagined.
A talking crow was indeed no big deal.
After all, most crows are very intelligent, with a brain-to-body mass ratio very similar to that of humans.
But a raven like the one Locke kept, which could not only talk but also possessed human-like tsundere emotions and disdainful eyes, was very rare.
One must know that Xiao Qi wasn't just simply mimicking human speech; she made Elfo feel as if he had just been in a dialogue with a person. This was why he was so surprised he couldn't speak. Furthermore, seeing that Locke had scared the other party into staying in place with just a single "Mmm," he was even more shocked, standing there in a daze with his mouth agape, forgetting what he wanted to say.
"Lord Locke, this—"
"Just a small pet, nothing major," Locke said with a flat expression as he patted Elfo's shoulder and then stepped directly into the helicopter cabin.
Elfo swallowed his saliva, the shock in his eyes as he looked at Locke growing more intense. "It seems that Elder Emilia's submission to Lord Locke was a very correct choice."
"Not only can he easily slay the ancestors of the two races, but he can also subdue such a miraculous animal. Lord Locke is simply—"
Sitting in the cabin, Locke looked at him standing there in a daze and waved his hand, saying faintly, "What's wrong? Aren't you going?"
"Ah, coming, coming."
Locke's voice immediately brought Elfo back to his senses. With an embarrassed expression, he hurriedly boarded the aircraft. "Lord Locke, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I just got a bit distracted."
Locke closed his eyes and didn't speak. Xiao Qi, on his shoulder, held her head high and snorted arrogantly, "Hmph! You actually dare to make our master wait for you? You really think highly of yourself."
"Uh—" Hearing this, Elfo was immediately so embarrassed he didn't know what to do. His legs went weak, and he almost knelt down directly from his seat.
However, just as his knees were about to hit the floor, Locke reached out and pulled him up.
"Just treat her as air and ignore her."
Elfo didn't dare to speak; he just sat back in his original position and very carefully observed the eye-closed Locke and the raven standing on his shoulder.
"What are you looking at? If you keep looking, be careful or this young lady will gouge your eyes out."
Seeing someone observing her, Xiao Qi glared back quite unrulily. Without Locke's suppression, it was as if her true nature was exposed, revealing her mischievous personality to others without reservation.
Being spoken to like that, Elfo was so scared he hurriedly turned his head to the side and then cautiously asked Locke, "Lord, do you need me to take you and Lady Serena directly back to the castle?"
Locke closed his eyes and pondered for a moment before replying, "No need. Just drop us off outside the villa where you picked us up earlier."
After all, Serena's car was still there, and there was also a corpse waiting for them to handle.
"As you command."
Elfo immediately turned back to signal the pilot in the cockpit, and subsequently, the entire cabin fell into silence.
Because of the successive battles earlier, Locke's body was currently extremely exhausted. Therefore, as soon as he got on the plane, he closed his eyes to rest.
Beside him, Serena had also fallen into a semi-hibernation state because she had begun to digest the blood of Alexander that she had obtained earlier.
As for Ah Fu, he was also tired after using Dark Stealth for a day and curled up into a ball on Locke's shoulder to sleep.
Finally, only Elfo and the very energetic Xiao Qi were left in the entire cabin.
Seeing Locke resting, Xiao Qi rolled her eyes and turned her attention to Elfo: "Gah, hurry over and give this young lady a massage. Later, I'll say a few good words for you in front of the master."
Hearing this, Elfo felt somewhat tempted. Just as he was about to act, Locke, with his eyes closed, spoke coldly.
"Shut up. If you're noisy again, I'll roast and eat you later."
"Gah—" Little Seven was immediately so scared she tucked her head back under her wing and didn't dare to speak again.
Locke was naturally just scaring her. He was very exhausted now and didn't even have the mood to check his rewards; he only wanted to have a good rest and didn't want to hear a crow making a racket beside him.
With those words of his, the entire cabin fell into complete tranquility, and no one dared to make any more noise.
Consequently, Locke soon fell into a deep sleep.
Only, while he was asleep, a massive explosion erupted from the Sea Prison, sending the surrounding waves several meters high.
