31: kneeling
Emilia looked at Locke, who seemed like a god of slaughter. There was admiration in her eyes, but also fear; she was thinking much deeper than her subordinates.
"Who exactly is this person, and why does he possess such immense strength?"
She had never heard the name Locke within the Vampire Clan before.
Moreover, she truly could not figure out which side Locke was actually standing on.
Was he a Vampire or a Werewolf?
Based on what Locke had said, she knew he must have an inseparable relationship with Serena; otherwise, why would he be so enraged by a single insulting remark?
But if that were all, then they might have escaped a calamity.
However, Kruto, the leader of the Werewolves, indicated that Locke was cooperating with them.
This left Emilia completely confused, as she was well aware of the deep-seated blood feud between Werewolves and Vampires.
Therefore, she did not dare to speak rashly, and could only stand there in a daze, watching Locke and the Werewolves vigilantly.
Locke did not pay attention to their gazes; he simply crouched down and began to vigorously wipe his revolver against Krabe's black trench coat.
During the process of him cleaning his gun, no one dared to speak, maintaining silence with a tacit understanding.
In the large square, there were over a dozen people, yet no one dared to breathe heavily.
Only the rustling sound of Locke's gun rubbing against the trench coat remained.
He wiped it for several seconds.
Only after wiping away all the blood did he put the revolver away.
Seeing that he had finished everything, Kruto spoke: "Do you have any other arrangements? Should we finish off these 4 Vampires here, or do you have other plans?"
In his eyes, whether they were Elders or not meant nothing; as long as they were Vampires, every single one of them was an enemy.
However, Locke was the exception. After all, Locke had only just been turned and had never harmed his Werewolf Clan.
Furthermore, it was because he knew Locke had already obtained Lucien's blood and would sooner or later become a Hybrid.
Hearing this, the expressions of Emilia and the few people behind her changed immediately, and they raised their guns, intending to make a final stand.
"Please keep an eye on them outside for now; don't let them die."
Locke pointed to the people behind Emilia, then beckoned to her, "You... come with me."
Emilia looked at him with some vigilance, not understanding what he meant.
"If you are unwilling to come with me, then you will all die today; it's that simple."
Seeing that she did not move, Locke said no more, turned, and stepped into the train without looking back, threatening in a calm tone: "I will not save someone who is of no use to me. You know my secret, and now I need you to demonstrate your value, don't you?"
Locke's voice echoed throughout the empty, abandoned rail yard.
Emilia's eyes were conflicted for a moment, then she followed Locke's footsteps and stepped into the train carriage.
The few attendants behind her opened their mouths to say something, but they still did not dare to speak.
After all, it seemed there was a glimmer of hope for survival, and they did not want to give up easily.
Having lived for so long, no one wanted to die.
Kruto, hearing Locke's tone which sounded like a command, pursed his lips with some dissatisfaction, but then he recalled his terrifying marksmanship and the sharp blade light from earlier.
He did not say anything in refusal and gestured to the few Werewolves behind him.
The few Werewolves understood immediately and, holding their guns, restrained Alek and the other two.
At the same time, they directly disarmed them. The three Vampire attendants did not dare to resist and obediently threw out the guns in their hands.
The Werewolves did this to prevent them from committing suicide; although the possibility of suicide seemed low now, they had to be prepared.
Most importantly, it was because Locke, whom they admired, had spoken, so these Werewolves strove to do their best to leave a good impression in front of Locke.
The Werewolf Clan were bellicose warriors; therefore, they naturally felt goodwill and admiration for strong individuals like Locke.
Inside the carriage.
The floor and the iron walls on both sides were covered with red fabric, exuding nobility and luxury.
Compared to how old it looked from the outside, the interior of the train was a whole different world.
Locke sat in the compartment, took the wine glass from the table, and poured himself a glass of red wine.
Emilia stood to the side, looking nervous and fixed, not daring to sit down directly.
"Sit."
Locke did not look at her, poured another glass for himself, and then pushed it to the opposite side.
Seeing that he did not seem to have any hostility, Emilia plucked up the courage to sit down, then rattled off a list of benefits in an attempt to win Locke over.
"Whatever you want, I can give it to you. Even, if you do not attack us this time, I am willing to take you under my command as my closest guard, and I guarantee that in 100 years, I will pass the position of one of the three Elders of the Vampire Clan to you."
Locke looked at her, a playful smile appearing on his face, and shook his head: "I think you might have misunderstood something?"
It could only be said that she was worthy of being a Vampire Elder who had lived for several centuries, still thinking of winning him over at a time like this.
It was just that his goal had always been Emilia herself; these conditions, which were full of super-strong temptation for other Vampires, were completely unworthy of mention to him.
"I..."
Under Locke's calm gaze, Emilia dared not continue and slowly lowered her head.
At this moment, admitting defeat was not a big deal; saving her life was the most important thing.
Locke swirled the wine in his glass and sat there, just like a gentleman slowly savoring red wine, until he had finished the entire glass before revealing his purpose.
"I have only one requirement for you; as long as you can agree, you will be able to live."
"Speak, as long as it is something I can do." Emilia clenched her hands tightly and replied with her neck stiffened.
"The requirement is actually very simple."
Locke slowly stood up, curled his lips, and walked slowly to her front: "Submit and you shall live."
Emilia measured the strength gap between herself and Locke, and was surprised to find that even if she were fully recovered, she was probably no match for Locke.
Consequently, this reduced the resistance in her heart significantly.
"If it is to submit to a strong person like him, it is not considered a disgrace for me."
After all, she had lived through the Middle Ages and agreed with the philosophy that the strong control everything.
Then, thinking that she had been saved by Locke after all, the hesitation in her heart was completely dissolved.
Of course, the most important thing was that when she just locked eyes with Locke, invisibly, Emilia had actually been influenced by some mysterious power from outside, which was why she had lowered her guard so quickly.
"Have you... considered it?"
"Emilia is willing to submit to you, my lord."
A flash of pink passed through Emilia's eyes, and then, with her head lowered, she knelt on one knee before him.
Locke nodded with satisfaction, slowly pulled down his belt, walked to the front of Emilia, and then grabbed her head, a playful look appearing on the corner of his mouth: "Since that is the case, Emilia, then please let me see your sincerity."
"Ah?"
