14: feed
Inside the room,
Selene's first attempt failed due to Locke's clenched jaw.
Helpless, she puffed out her cheeks, straightened up, and stared wide-eyed at the unconscious Locke.
At this moment, she looked like a wronged little goldfish, glaring at Locke with dissatisfaction.
Looking at Locke's pale face, Selene grew increasingly annoyed.
But what annoyed her was that despite being injured, he still kept his mouth shut, preventing her from feeding him blood.
"It's one thing for you to be unconscious, but why are you keeping your mouth so tightly shut? Do you think I'm trying to harm you? Or do you want me to use something to pry it open...?"
"Pry it open!"
"That's right, I can pry it open!"
Thinking this, Selene suddenly had an epiphany, a joyful expression on her face, and immediately leaned down, pressing herself against him again.
This kiss was very forceful.
Their red lips were pressed tightly together, inseparable.
This was because she wanted to prevent the blood in her mouth from spilling out when she used her tongue to pry open Locke's jaw.
Selene deftly explored around Locke's jaw, finally finding a gap near his molars, and then directly pried open his entire jaw.
"Finally!"
Seeing the passage open, Selene couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief, then poured all the fresh blood from her mouth into Locke's.
One mouthful after another.
The 500ml glass bottle quickly emptied, and Locke's overly pale complexion gradually returned to normal.
Of course, 'normal' didn't mean he reverted to a normal human skin tone.
Instead, it returned to the cold, pale skin of a Vampire before injury. Seeing him recover, Selene also relaxed.
"Just one last mouthful left."
Without hesitation, Selene took a deep breath, took the last mouthful into her mouth, and leaned down again.
But this time, something unexpected happened.
Locke's tongue, which had shown no reaction until now, suddenly seemed to come alive, darting wildly inside his mouth.
Finally, like an octopus sucker, it firmly latched onto Selene.
"Mmmph mmmph mmmph..."
Selene stared at him at close range, raising her hand anxiously.
But when she was about to slap Locke, her hand stopped mid-air.
It finally just landed gently on his shoulder, and she no longer resisted.
On Locke's side, after falling unconscious, he only felt his consciousness sink into a Pink World.
Everything he saw was pink.
Whether it was the sky, the earth, or the plants.
"What is this place?" The thought involuntarily popped into Locke's head.
With this thought, he began to explore this space.
But after only a couple of steps, he was attracted by a patch of pure white exposed on the surface of a river not far away.
This wasn't because he was lustful, but because he couldn't help it.
Because only that tall figure had a different color from the rest of the space.
Not only was her back white, but her hair was also snow-white, making her very recognizable.
Locke walked closer, intending to examine her more closely, but unexpectedly woke up the next second.
However, before waking, he vaguely seemed to see the woman in the river turn her head.
He didn't clearly see her face, but her full figure, visible through a thin veil, was deeply imprinted in his mind.
Sitting up from the sofa, Locke couldn't help but swallow.
He let out a long breath, then slowly began to calm the inexplicably aroused desire.
Locke felt that when he saw the female creature in his dream,
his mind would be uncontrollably filled with desire for her; that figure seemed to be the embodiment of desire itself.
"Who... who is this White-Haired Woman? I don't recall ever seeing such a beautiful woman."
And with his movements, Selene, who was sleeping beside him, let out a grunt, then rubbed her somewhat sore and poked cheek as she woke up.
It was then that Locke realized,
Selene had been watching over him all this time. Not only that, but her hand was currently intertwined with his, tightly clasped together.
"Selene, you're awake."
Just by looking at the scene, he could already imagine what she had done for him while he was unconscious.
So, his gaze towards Selene involuntarily softened: "Thank you for guarding me. I'm very grateful."
Even Locke himself didn't notice that his pupils no longer held the wary look they had when he first transmigrated, watching everyone with suspicion.
Unbeknownst to him, they had become much warmer.
"Ah..."
At his call, Selene let out a gasp, then quickly stood up, simultaneously pulling her hand discreetly behind her back.
Locke could tell she was a little embarrassed, so he smiled and asked with concern:
"Selene, are you alright? Why did you fall asleep next to me like that? If you're going to sleep, you should go to bed."
"That's not fair..." Selene blurted out, but covered her mouth with her hand at the last second.
"Hmm?" Locke wondered, "What did you say? I didn't hear clearly."
"N-nothing."
Selene quickly adjusted, immediately putting on her initial cold expression, and looked at him with her chin raised:
"You..."
"How do you feel? I fed you a bottle of blood; you should be mostly recovered now, right?"
Locke clenched his fists, then patted his muscles: "Thank you for your concern. It seems there's no serious problem."
"Since you're fine, stay in this room and don't run around."
Seeing him recovered, Selene gave a few instructions, then intended to go find Kraven to discuss countermeasures.
After all, the Werewolf Clan's large-scale operation might have some conspiracy behind it.
Although she didn't like Kraven, there was nothing she could do; he was currently the acting authority.
If she wanted to get support for her actions, she had to get his approval first.
"Are you going out?" Locke asked subconsciously, watching Selene put on her trench coat.
"Mm."
Selene paused her steps to leave, then softly hummed, and continued to instruct:
"I'm going to discuss countermeasures with Kraven. You've just recovered, so rest well here. If you need anything, you can call that number."
"Alright, don't worry about me. Go ahead."
Locke returned a smile, then followed Selene's hand, indeed finding a golden rotary dial telephone on the desk.
It had a very old-fashioned, turn-of-the-century feel.
"Who... who's worrying about you?"
Selene's voice grew louder as she replied, and her departing steps quickened involuntarily.
Watching her receding figure, Locke smiled and shook his head.
"It's time to see what rewards that temporary mission gave."
"I got injured and bled to complete this mission, so it better give me some good stuff."
With excitement and anticipation, Locke opened his Anti-Terrorism System.
What greeted his eyes, besides the panel, was a red gift package that had appeared out of thin air.
"Open."
As his thought landed, the gift package before him immediately burst forth with a green, red, and blue light.
