58: Chapter 58 Offline Early Experience

Around 9 AM, the major commercial districts in Lagos were already covered in new advertisements; almost every blank wall was sprayed with orange "TECNO S1" ads.

Some captions read "Bigger screen," others read "Smarter experience," and some simply depicted a larger phone outline, with "August 1st, See the Unseen" written on the screen.

"Is Transsion releasing a new phone?"

"The screen looks so big, even bigger than my Power max."

"Forget the Power series, it's even bigger than my Smartphone. Could this be Transsion's Smartphone?"

"S1. Is this the Smartphone that Mr. Adebayo was talking about before? He seems to have conducted a survey like this."

Curious people gathered in front of the ads to discuss them, with some young people taking out their Feature phones to compare. The obviously different dimensions immediately stunned the crowd.

Even more impressive, Transsion set up experience booths in front of some high-traffic stores. A few transsion s1 engineering prototypes were placed inside the booths, locked with anti-theft chains.

They could be touched and operated, but absolutely could not be taken away. To ensure absolute safety, several professional security personnel stood nearby.

Around 10 AM, at the Victoria Island financial district.

A middle-aged man wearing an Armani suit and carrying a briefcase walked into a Transsion store once again.

He was an executive at a local bank, wanting to meet Mr. Adebayo through the store manager to persuade him to deposit funds into their bank; if he succeeded, he would have made a great contribution...

However, as soon as he entered the store, he forgot about work, captivated by the phone on the table.

"Sir, this is the first Smartphone that Transsion is about to release." Seeing his interest, the staff member introduced it even more enthusiastically.

"4.5-inch large screen, 2-megapixel camera, touch operation."

Under his introduction, the man began trying to swipe the screen.

Smooth, extremely smooth.

He opened the camera and took a picture of the outside; the clarity of the photo surprised him again.

"Is this really made by Transsion?" he asked suspiciously. "Not Samsung or Apple?"

As a bank executive, he was aware of the outside technological developments. The Smartphone was an epoch-making device released last year, with high technical difficulty, and only those international giants had mastered the manufacturing technology.

Transsion... he had his doubts.

"100% Transsion made," the staff member said proudly.

"And it still retains the preference for Africa users, such as this Deep Skin Tone Beauty 2.0."

The man immediately took another selfie of himself. After the photo came out, he said in surprise: "Is this really me? How... how can it look so good?"

"Because our headquarters engineers are still optimizing it, upgrading from the original 100,000-image database to a million-image database.

And for this Smartphone, the algorithm has been optimized and upgraded this time," the staff member said with a smile, feeling excited inside, as he estimated this deal would likely close.

He could earn a not-insignificant commission.

The man was tempted. Although the BlackBerry phone he used was professional, it had a small screen, poor photography, and the signal was sometimes not great. He hadn't thought about switching to Power max before, but that phone wasn't quite suitable.

This S1...

"How much? When can I buy it?"

"It will officially go on sale after the press conference on August 1st. You can pay a reservation fee of $100 now. It can be used as $120 after the press conference."

The staff member hurriedly took a reservation form from the side and handed it over.

"Sir, there are currently many benefits. The first 1,000 pre-order users will also receive an original protective case. Transsion's after-sales service is worth your trust."

The man filled out the form without hesitation, swiped his card, and then left excitedly. As for his original work... compared to the Smartphone, that was not important.

That day, similar scenes were repeated in more than 20 Transsion stores in Lagos. By the time they settled accounts in the evening, the number of reservation users exceeded 3,000, and just the reservation fees collected totaled $300,000.

Mr. Adebayo immediately sent the news back to headquarters, where Shen Fei was looking at the press conference plan.

"Nigeria is so rich." Looking at the numbers, Li Qing said with emotion first, then quickly sent the report to Shen Fei's hand.

"It's not wealth, it's longing." Shen Fei glanced at it and put the report aside. "Africa people have been discriminated against for too long. They have never been valued and could only use old phones discarded by Europe and America, and the prices were even more expensive than theirs.

Now that a company truly designed for them has made a product that is not inferior to international big brands... this sense of recognition will be converted into purchasing power."

He thought for a moment: "Tell Mr. Adebayo, for every 1,000 users, release some new features. Keep the heat up until the press conference.

Communicate with other TV stations as well, see if they are willing to broadcast our press conference."

After giving the instructions, Shen Fei picked up his phone and saw a photo sent to him by Zhang Mingzhu.

She was holding a brand new transsion s1, smiling happily, a very sweet smile.

Shen Fei looked at it for a long time, then saved the photo and changed it to his wallpaper.

On the other side, Bird also increased its publicity efforts, preparing to fight Transsion to the death on August 1st.

Although some rumors made Supply Chain Director Zhou Ming a bit dazed, he felt that Transsion was just an assembly plant, and its technology could not compare to Bird, even if they had hastily created a Smartphone.

The first Smartphone would not be much better than a Feature phone, and in the end, price would determine everything.

So they prepared to continue opening up the market in Mauritius and fight Transsion to the death here...

...

Time quickly arrived at August 1st, Lagos National Stadium.

This time, Transsion finally held the press conference in a more formal place, rather than an open-air plaza.

The popularity of the Smartphone was indeed very high. By 4 PM, the stadium, which could accommodate 60,000 people, was already packed.

Orange "TECNO" flags formed waves in the stands, and the cheers of the crowd were like one tsunami after another.

The first few rows near the big stage were the prospective users who had pre-ordered the transsion s1.

Backstage, Mr. Adebayo adjusted his tie one last time in the mirror.

The man in the mirror was wearing a custom-made suit, his hair combed until it shone, and a Transsion Africa region diamond badge was pinned to his chest.

This was what Shen Fei had sent over by air yesterday; there were only 3 in the world.

"President, the viewership data has exploded." The assistant reported excitedly. "Nigeria National Television and 27 countries across Africa are broadcasting it.

YouTube has also sent a special recording team, which will be played repeatedly on their platform next. These are all our ads."

Seeing these surprises, Mr. Adebayo hurriedly held his chest and took a deep breath.

At this time, the headquarters special team also came to his side; Li Qing and Li Ziqi walked over: "Don't be nervous, you have prepared for three months. This press conference will definitely be a success."

He looked at the boss's secretary, Li Ziqi, nodded, then clenched his fists and said to the assistant beside him: "Start."
