104: Chapter 103 Having had it is enough
After Su Bai returned to his room, he first took a shower.
After all, he had been with that Pink-haired Female DJ for so long and had worked up quite a sweat.
Before he finished his shower, a soft knock came from the door.
Su Bai turned off the showerhead and casually wiped himself dry.
By the time he walked out of the bathroom, the knocking had stopped.
Then it sounded again, a bit heavier than before, as if carrying a mix of hesitation and determination.
He walked over and pulled the door open.
Mu Qing was standing at the door.
She had changed into a set of white cotton pajamas; her hair was down and still a bit damp, looking as if she had just showered.
Her face was bare, plain and clean, but her eyes were slightly red as if she had been crying.
She stood there, her face full of nervousness.
When she saw that Su Bai was only wrapped in a bath towel, she became even more embarrassed.
"Is something the matter?" Su Bai asked.
Mu Qing shook her head, then hurriedly nodded.
She looked up, meeting his eyes.
Her gaze was very serious, as if she had come to a firm decision.
"Can I come in?" she asked softly.
"Of course."
Su Bai stepped aside to let her in.
Mu Qing walked in with light steps, making almost no sound on the carpet.
She stood in the middle of the room, looked around, and then turned to face him.
Su Bai closed the door and leaned against it, watching her.
Mu Qing took a deep breath.
"That... I've been thinking the whole way back."
Her voice trembled with nervousness, but she spoke every word clearly.
"I've figured it out."
Su Bai didn't speak, simply nodding and waiting for her to continue.
Mu Qing lowered her head—well, she couldn't see her toes.
She could only see her rounded toes; her nails were trimmed short, glowing with a faint pink hue under the light.
"I... it's not that I don't want to."
She repeated what she had said in the car earlier, but this time she didn't stop.
"I'm just a little scared."
Mu Qing fell silent for a moment, then she looked up into his eyes.
"But I've figured it out now. Even if you don't want me in the future, I'll accept it."
Su Bai looked at her.
Her eyes were bright in the light of the bedside lamp, shimmering with unshed tears.
"Su Bai, I don't care how many women you have." She bit her lip as if to encourage herself. "I never thought about dating you, either."
Su Bai raised an eyebrow.
"Then what are you thinking?"
Mu Qing took a step forward. Her hands were still clutching her sleeves, but not as tightly.
"I just think..." She paused. "Having had it is enough."
The room fell silent.
The sound of waves drifted in from the window, wave after wave, filling the silence between them.
Su Bai looked at her.
Her eyes held a clean, serious calm, like someone who had finally understood everything.
Su Bai reached out, his hand resting on her face, fingers lightly pressing against her cheek.
Her skin was cool, carrying the moisture of a fresh shower and a slight tremor.
His thumb slowly slid across her cheekbone to the corner of her mouth, pausing for a moment.
Mu Qing's eyelashes fluttered, but she didn't pull away.
Su Bai moved his hand from her face and took her hand.
Her hand was small and her fingers were cold, trembling slightly in his palm.
"Let's sit down first."
Su Bai led her to the bedside and had her sit down.
Mu Qing sat on the edge of the bed, her back straight, knees together, and hands resting on them.
Su Bai sat down beside her, leaving about a fist's width of space between them.
"Have you really thought this through?"
Mu Qing nodded.
"Yes, I'm sure."
Her profile looked soft in the light, her nose bridge straight, lips slightly pursed, and her chin tracing a gentle curve.
Su Bai reached out and tucked a stray lock of hair behind her ear.
Mu Qing's body tensed slightly, but she didn't pull away.
His fingers slid down from behind her ear, along her neck, and down to her collarbone.
Her skin was cool, and a layer of fine goosebumps broke out.
His finger stopped at the first button of her pajamas.
Mu Qing's breathing quickened.
Her hands gripped her knees tightly, her knuckles turning white.
Su Bai's finger released the button.
"Mu Qing, I don't actually understand what you're so afraid of."
Mu Qing was startled for a moment. Then she reached out and placed her hand over his.
She whispered, "It's just... I've never done it before."
Su Bai looked at her.
"I know."
Mu Qing blushed.
She lowered her head and stared at her knees.
"Will you laugh at me?"
Su Bai shook his head with a smile.
"Of course not. I like it too much for that."
Mu Qing was silent for a moment.
Then she looked up into his eyes.
"Then... teach me."
Her face was flushed, her eyes bright, and her lips slightly parted as if waiting for something.
He reached out, gently took her chin, and tilted her face up. She closed her eyes, her lashes trembling.
Her lips were soft and cool, with a fresh scent of mint.
Her lips were pressed tight, her body as stiff as a board.
A long time passed.
Long enough for her breathing to grow ragged and her body to soften.
Su Bai released her and looked at her.
Her face was flushed deep red, her lips slightly swollen, her eyes half-closed, and a trace of moisture clung to her lashes.
Su Bai laid her down.
Her white pajamas spread across the sheets like a white lotus.
Su Bai lowered his head—forehead, eyes, tip of the nose, lips, chin, neck...
"Su Bai..." she whispered his name, her voice light as if in a dream.
Su Bai looked up and at her.
Mu Qing looked at him, her eyes glistening.
"In the future..." she paused, "in the future, even if you have someone else, you can't abandon me."
Su Bai was silent for a second.
"Okay."
Mu Qing smiled.
The smile was faint, but beautiful.
She reached out, wrapped her arms around his neck, and pulled him down.
Her lips brushed against his ear.
"Now... you are mine."
Her legs were long and fair, with a touch of fullness, glowing faintly under the light.
Her thighs were supple, her calves slender, her kneecaps rounded, and her ankles delicate.
Her toes curled, looking quite adorable.
"Tell me if it hurts," he whispered in her ear.
Mu Qing nodded and closed her eyes.
The sound of waves drifted in from the window, wave after wave, filling the entire room.
Su Bai lowered his head and kissed away the tear at the corner of her eye.
It was as salty as the sea.
The sound of the waves was loud.
The moonlight was bright and white.
Much later, Mu Qing curled up in Su Bai's arms, her face pressed against his chest.
Her hair was loose and spread across his arm, cool and silky.
Her breathing was still quick, not yet fully settled, her fingers resting on his waist, lightly tracing circles.
"Su Bai."
"Hmm."
"Tell me, do I count as your woman now?"
Su Bai looked down at her.
Her face was buried in his chest, only half-visible, her eyes bright and her lips curved up.
"You do."
Mu Qing buried her face deeper into his chest, her voice muffled.
"Then that's enough."
Su Bai didn't speak.
He gently patted her back, and her breathing gradually steadied.
Her body grew softer and softer, her fingers stopped tracing circles, simply resting on his waist, motionless.
"Su Bai," she called him again, her voice already sounding dazed.
"Hmm."
"I'm tired."
"Go to sleep."
"You're not allowed to leave."
"I won't."
She gave a satisfied hum, nuzzled into his chest to find a comfortable position, and closed her eyes.
