113: Chapter 112 Taking Song Qian to Hainan, is a Shura Field About to Begin?

The hotel room was small, but very clean.

Song Qian stood in the center of the room, her hair still dripping.

Her clothes were soaked through, her face pale, lips purple, and her whole body was trembling.

Su Bai closed the door and walked over to her.

He reached out and took off the down jacket from her shoulders, his movements very gentle, as if afraid of hurting her.

Then, he took a dry towel from the bathroom and handed it to her.

"Wipe yourself off, don't catch a cold."

Song Qian took the towel.

"Master." She bit her lip and spoke softly.

Su Bai didn't speak, waiting for her to continue.

"Actually... you didn't have to do so much for me." Her voice was trembling—not from crying, but that kind of trembling that comes from holding back for a long time and finally being unable to stop. "I'm not worth... 500 million."

Su Bai looked at her.

She kept her head down, her face hidden behind wet hair, making her expression impossible to see; one could only see her fingers twisting the towel, twisting it so tightly that her knuckles turned white.

"It's not entirely because of you," he said.

Song Qian looked up.

Her eyes were bloodshot, but there were no tears, like a well that had been dried out for a long time.

Su Bai walked over, sat on the edge of the bed, and explained:

"The land here is cheap, and it has potential for appreciation in the future."

He said this in a very flat tone, as if he were talking about a very ordinary matter.

"For a 500 million project, I wouldn't be able to get such a large piece of land anywhere else, nor would I be able to negotiate terms like tax exemptions, policy support, and supporting infrastructure..."

Song Qian looked at him for a long time.

Then she lowered her head, folded the towel, and placed it on the bedside table.

Immediately, she walked over to him, knelt down, and as usual, reached out to untie his shoelaces.

Her hands were still trembling, but her movements were light, slow, and... devout.

She took off his shoes, placed them neatly by the bed, then took off his socks, folded them, and placed them next to the shoes.

Then she stood up, went to the bathroom, filled a basin with hot water, brought it out, and placed it by his feet.

She knelt down and put his feet into the water.

The water was very hot; the steam rose up, blurring her face.

"Master." She kept her head down, looking at his feet in the water. "I want to serve you."

Su Bai looked down at her.

Song Qian's fingers gently rubbed his instep in the water, the pressure very light and soft, as if afraid of hurting him.

Song Qian helped him dry his feet, poured out the water, and went to the bathroom to wash her hands.

By the time she came out, she had already taken a shower.

Su Bai looked at her and said nothing.

He lifted the quilt and patted the spot next to him.

Song Qian walked over, lay down, and curled up in his arms.

Her hand was on his chest, her fingers gently clutching his collar, as if afraid he would disappear.

Su Bai reached out and turned off the light.

"Master."

Song Qian's voice sounded in the darkness, very soft, like sleep-talking.

"Hmm."

"You must be a god sent by heaven to save me."

"You are worth it."

Su Bai was also a bit tired; he closed his eyes and was about to fall asleep when the person in his arms suddenly moved.

Song Qian raised her head and looked at his face in the darkness. Her eyes were very bright, containing the sliver of light coming through the gap in the curtains, and something else.

"Master."

"Hmm."

"Do you want to... play something different?"

Su Bai perked up.

"What kind of different?"

Song Qian said softly and sweetly,

"I want to give... every part of myself to you."

Su Bai was shocked.

"You mean..."

Song Qian nodded shyly and buried her face deeper.

"The enchantress's face is like a flower holding dew, the jade tree sheds light upon the rear courtyard. Flowers bloom and fall, not lasting long; fallen red petals cover the ground, returning to silence."

The next morning, the sky cleared up.

Sunlight squeezed in through the gap in the curtains, drawing a golden line on the bedsheets.

When Su Bai opened his eyes, Song Qian was already awake, lying on her side looking at him, her hand pillowed under her face, her eyes unblinking.

"Morning." She smiled.

Her eyes were still very red, bloodshot, with deep dark circles under them; it was clear she hadn't slept well for a long time.

But her expression was different; it was like a string that had finally been loosened.

"Morning."

The curve of Song Qian's lips remained, and there was light in her eyes.

She reached out and touched his face, from his forehead to his chin, her fingertips gently sliding over his skin.

"You've grown a beard."

Su Bai touched his chin.

The doorbell rang.

Su Bai picked up his phone to look; it was the negotiation team sent by the company.

He got up to get dressed, and Song Qian got up too, put on the sweater from yesterday, went to the bathroom to wash her face, and tied her hair up.

Su Bai got dressed and opened the door.

Standing at the door was a man in his forties, wearing a black suit, his hair combed meticulously, holding a briefcase.

His surname was Li, and he was the general manager of the group's East China region. After receiving Su Bai's call last night, he flew over from Shanghai overnight, took two flights, and then drove for two hours, arriving at Cang County at four in the morning.

His suit was crisp, but he had deep dark circles under his eyes; it was obvious he hadn't slept well.

"General Manager Su." He bowed slightly.

Su Bai nodded and arranged,

"Go and interface with Vice County Mayor Wang. Use the previously decided contract terms, press down on the land price, and negotiate the supporting conditions again."

Manager Li took a notebook out of his briefcase and wrote rapidly,

"Understood. How much should I press the land price down to?"

Su Bai thought for a moment,

"No more than 60,000 per mu. Tax exemptions, talent introduction subsidies, employment training subsidies, infrastructure construction subsidies—all of these must be written into the contract."

Manager Li nodded while writing,

"Okay. Anything else?"

"No." He said, "Call me when you've finished negotiating."

Manager Li closed the notebook and put it into his briefcase.

"Rest assured, General Manager Su."

Su Bai turned and walked back into the room.

Song Qian was already packed.

"Let's go, to Hainan," Su Bai said.

Song Qian nodded heavily and followed him out of the room.

Outside the lobby, the sun was bright, and the air after the rain was fresh, carrying the damp scent of soil and plants.

Long Wu and Long Qi were already standing by the car; the black body of the G63 reflected the sunlight.

Long Qi drove, he and Song Qian sat in the back, and Long Wu was in the passenger seat.

When the car drove out of Cang County, Song Qian turned her head and looked at the increasingly small county town.

The morning mist had not yet dispersed, and the outline of the county town was looming in the mist, like an unreal dream.

She watched for a long time, until the small county town completely disappeared into the morning mist, and only then did she turn her head back. The sunlight shone in through the car window and fell on her face, warm and cozy.

It felt like a rebirth.

The car drove south all the way.

The sky became bluer, the trees greener, and the temperature higher.

After crossing the provincial border, coconut trees and palm trees began to appear on both sides of the road.

When they arrived in Hainan, it was exactly noon.

The sun hung overhead, scorching the skin.

The car stopped at the entrance of the hotel.

Su Bai got out of the car, and Song Qian followed closely behind. The sea breeze blew her hair, and her clothes were pressed against her body by the wind, outlining her thin but still curvy silhouette.

She looked up and saw a beautiful figure running out of the hotel lobby.

Then, like a koala, she jumped onto Su Bai and said coquettishly,

"You worried me to death! You're finally back!"
