77: Chapter 77 The Sage's Time

After buying the watch, they went on to browse shoe stores and bag stores.

Su Bai picked out two more pairs of shoes and three bags for her.

Each item was a boutique piece, and each was incredibly expensive.

Song Qian went from initial shock to later becoming completely numb.

She didn't know what this feeling was.

It felt as if she were walking on clouds, light and airy.

So this is how money can be spent?

Can a person really spend hundreds of thousands in an hour?!

And without even blinking.

Most importantly, Su Bai spending money on her wasn't because of anything she had done, nor because of how good she was, but simply because—

She belonged to him.

This feeling of being possessed was strange.

But it was also inexplicably... reassuring.

It was already two in the afternoon when they left the mall.

The sun was shining perfectly, illuminating the plaza at the entrance.

Song Qian was carrying over a dozen bags in her hands, all from their recent purchases.

Su Bai was also carrying a few, but the majority were in her hands.

Looking at those bags, she suddenly felt a sense of unreality.

She snuck a glance at Su Bai.

He was walking in front, with the sunlight falling on him; he looked almost unrealistically handsome.

Just then, a figure walked over quickly.

General Manager Zhou Zhaolong.

He actually hadn't left yet.

He was standing at the mall entrance, holding an exquisite box, and immediately walked up to greet them when he saw Su Bai and Song Qian come out.

"General Manager Su."

He bowed slightly, then turned to Song Qian, handing over the box with both hands, "Ms. Song, this is a small token of my sincerity."

Song Qian was stunned.

General Manager Zhou Zhaolong continued, "My nephew is a complete scoundrel; I have already made him drop out of school. From today on, he will never appear in Jingzhou again. This is an apology gift for you, please, you must accept it."

Song Qian looked at the box, unsure whether she should take it.

"This..." She looked at Su Bai.

Su Bai's expression was indifferent. "Accept it," he said, "Otherwise, he might not be able to sleep tonight."

Song Qian paused for a moment, then took the box.

"Thank you, General Manager Zhou," she said softly.

General Manager Zhou Zhaolong looked relieved and waved his hands repeatedly. "I wouldn't dare, I wouldn't dare, it's only right, it's only right!"

Su Bai looked at him. "This matter ends here."

"Focus more on the company's business. If you can secure that piece of land in the North District, I will double your dividends."

General Manager Zhou Zhaolong's eyes lit up instantly. "Yes! Rest assured, General Manager Su! I will definitely secure it!"

He bowed to Su Bai and Song Qian, then retreated tactfully.

Song Qian watched his back disappear into the crowd, then looked down at the box in her hands.

"Why... is he so afraid of you?" she asked softly.

Su Bai said, "Because without me, he is nothing."

Immediately after, he put his arm around her waist and walked toward the parking lot. "Get in the car."

Once in the car, Song Qian sat in the passenger seat, hesitated for a moment, and handed the box to Su Bai.

"This... maybe you should take it," she said, "After all, it was because of you that General Manager Zhou..."

Su Bai glanced at her. "If it's given to you, just keep it."

He started the engine, and the car slowly drove out of the parking lot. "Open it and take a look."

Song Qian hesitated, then opened the box.

Inside was a set of jewelry.

A necklace, earrings, and a bracelet, a matching set.

Made of pure gold and inlaid with fine diamonds, it sparkled under the light inside the car.

Song Qian didn't know the exact price, but even just calculating by the weight of the gold, it had to be at least five hundred thousand!

Her heart skipped a beat.

Five hundred thousand!

She looked up at Su Bai.

Su Bai was focused on the road ahead, one hand on the steering wheel.

She bit her lip.

Then she leaned over, wrapped her arms around his neck, and kissed his cheek.

"Thank you, Master," she whispered.

Su Bai turned his head to look at her.

Her face was flushed, her eyes were glistening, and her lips were slightly pursed, looking both shy and serious.

The corners of Su Bai's mouth curled up slightly.

"Since you want to thank me," he said, "then thank me properly."

Song Qian was stunned for a moment, then her face turned even redder.

She understood.

She took a deep breath and tied up her hair.

The panamera drove smoothly along the street.

Outside the car window, the winter sun was perfect.

Inside the car, the temperature was slowly rising.

— —

The car drove into Lanyuan Residential Area and stopped downstairs.

Night had completely enveloped the city, streetlights turned on, casting dim yellow light in the cold winter wind.

Su Bai turned off the engine and turned to look at the passenger seat.

Song Qian looked up, her face flushed.

She leaned back against the seat, looking a bit exhausted.

"We're here," Su Bai said, patting her head.

Song Qian pursed her lips tightly and nodded, unbuckling her seatbelt.

Pushing the car door open, the cold wind rushed in.

She shrunk her neck, first finding a place to rinse her mouth.

Then she got back into the car to grab the big and small bags.

Su Bai walked around to the trunk and took out the remaining bags.

Both of them had their hands full as they walked into the elevator.

The elevator went up, and Song Qian looked at the reflection of the two of them on the elevator door.

She was wearing that wine-red dress with a cashmere coat over it, new ankle boots on her feet, and holding various luxury brand shopping bags.

Standing beside her was a man, young, tall, handsome, also carrying just as many bags.

The scene reflected in the elevator door looked like something out of an idol drama.

She lowered her head and didn't speak.

Back home, she pushed the door open; the living room was dark.

Su Bai put the bags on the sofa and took out his phone.

"Shall we order takeout?" he asked. "What do you want to eat?"

Song Qian was putting those shopping bags to the side, and hearing this, she paused.

"Ordering takeout again?"

Su Bai looked at her. "What's wrong?"

Song Qian pursed her lips.

"Always eating takeout isn't hygienic," she said softly. "Let me make something for you."

Su Bai raised an eyebrow. "That works."

Song Qian took off her coat, hung it on the coat rack, rolled up her sleeves, and walked into the kitchen.

Su Bai leaned on the sofa, turned on the TV, and randomly tuned into a variety show for background noise.

Soon, the sound of the faucet came from the kitchen, followed by the sound of chopping vegetables, "dong dong dong," with an even rhythm.

He leaned on the sofa and picked up his phone.

There were a few unread messages on WeChat.

There was a red dot on Mu Qing's profile picture.

[Su Bai! I've applied for the budget from my family! My mom approved ten thousand! Is that enough to go out and play? If it's not enough, I have some private savings too! When are we leaving?]

Followed by an excited emoji, a little rabbit jumping around.

Su Bai's mouth curled up slightly as he typed:

[In a couple of days, I'll contact you then.]

Mu Qing replied instantly: [Okay! Waiting for your news!]

She also sent a "waiting obediently" emoji.

Su Bai smiled and exited the chat.

The next one was Xin Yaoqiao.

He clicked it open.

Two more photos.

The first one, a pair of legs kneeling on the bed, wearing black stockings; this time they were thinner, almost transparent, and one could see the fair skin underneath.

The second one, the same legs, in a different pose, lying on her side on the bed, one leg straight, one leg bent.

The texture of the stockings was clearer, thin as a cicada's wing, tightly wrapping the skin, with slender ankles and rounded toes.

[This pair is even thinner than the last one, guess what I'm wearing now?]

Su Bai looked at those two photos.

If it were last night, seeing these, he would probably be getting heated up again.

But now—

He had just been helped by Song Qian in the car.

At this moment, his heart was completely calm, in sage mode.

He looked carefully at those legs.

They were indeed nice.

Smooth lines, perfect proportions, fair skin, and the texture of the stockings was well-chosen too.

He appreciated them for a few seconds with a purely aesthetic eye.

Then he typed: [Not bad, but I prefer you wearing fishnet stockings.]

After sending it, he put down his phone.

The sound of chopping vegetables in the kitchen continued, occasionally mixed with the sizzling sound of the oil pan heating up.

Su Bai leaned on the sofa and continued watching TV.
