118: Chapter 117 Two new artists, your older sisters will protect you from now on!

When Su Bai finished his workout and returned home, the living room was quiet.

A few pairs of slippers were scattered on the shoe cabinet in the entryway, crookedly placed, clearly kicked off casually by someone last night.

Su Bai walked into his room.

He took off his gym clothes and changed into a clean white shirt and dark casual pants.

He draped a cashmere coat over his shoulders and went out.

Before the New Year, he had asked Shen Tian to sign two new artists. Shen Tian called yesterday to say the two would be reporting today and asked if he had time to come by and give them some guidance.

Having nothing better to do, Su Bai agreed.

During the New Year holiday, the lobby of the Baiye Entertainment office building was deserted. The security guard was dozing off behind the front desk. Hearing footsteps, he looked up, saw Su Bai, paused for a moment, then stood up and saluted.

Although he hadn't seen him before, someone this handsome must be from the entertainment company.

Arriving at the floor for Baiye Entertainment, the young receptionist was looking down, tidying things up. Hearing the sound, she looked up, and her eyes lit up instantly.

"Good morning, President Su!"

The young girl stood up straight, her smile incredibly bright.

Su Bai nodded and asked,

"I'm heading to Shen Tian's office."

"Alright, please go ahead." The receptionist gestured for him to pass.

Su Bai walked down the corridor.

Posters of the company's artists hung on the walls on both sides of the corridor.

Diliyereza, Fan Bingbing, and a few newcomers who had just emerged recently.

Fan Bingbing's poster was the largest; she was wearing a red dress, her gaze sharp.

Diliyereza's poster was next to it, in a white long dress, her long hair draped over her shoulders, her smile gentle.

Su Bai glanced at them as he passed. Fan Bingbing's photo was well-chosen; for a thirty-five-year-old woman, her features held both the purity of a young girl and the charm of a mature woman.

Hmm... she was at her most charming.

Shen Tian's office was at the end of the hallway.

The door was ajar, and voices could be heard from inside. They weren't loud, but full of energy, like two newly hatched birds chirping away.

Su Bai didn't knock; he pushed the door open and walked in.

The office was spacious, with floor-to-ceiling windows facing the skyline of Jingzhou City. The distant TV tower was faintly visible in the morning mist.

Two young girls were sitting in the sofa area. One was slightly shorter, wearing a white hoodie, with a high ponytail. Her face was round, and her eyes were round too; she looked like a lychee just plucked from the water—fresh and vibrant.

The other was wearing a black knit sweater, her hair let down. She had a small face, a pointed chin, and long, narrow eyes, like a lazy cat.

Both were very young, around twenty, the age where they would be stopped by talent scouts on the street.

The moment Su Bai walked in, both girls looked up at the same time.

The one in the white hoodie, Tian Xiwei, had her eyes wide open, her mouth forming an 'O' shape.

Her gaze landed on Su Bai's face and couldn't look away.

So handsome!

The one in the black knit sweater, Wang Churan, was more reserved. She only took one look, then lowered her head, then couldn't help but take another look, and then lowered her head again.

Her ear tips turned red, blushing from the earlobes all the way to the tips, a translucent shade of red.

Su Bai walked to the sofa and sat down on the single armchair opposite the two girls.

He crossed his legs, leaned back against the sofa, and watched them.

The two girls watched him back. The office was quiet for two seconds.

Tian Xiwei spoke first.

She leaned forward, resting her hands on her knees, her round eyes full of curiosity,

"Hey, handsome, you're also a new artist reporting today, right?"

"Why did you come so late? It's a good thing President Shen has to meet a big shot today, otherwise, she might have scolded you."

Su Bai paused for a moment, then laughed.

The smile seemed to be because he was amused.

He leaned back on the sofa, looking at Tian Xiwei's earnest face, and went along with her words:

"Well, I guess I'm quite lucky. But... is President Shen really that fierce?"

Before Tian Xiwei could speak, Wang Churan chimed in.

Her voice was much softer than Tian Xiwei's, as fluffy as cotton candy,

"She's super fierce."

As she spoke, she snuck a glance at the door, confirming it was still closed, before continuing,

"I heard from the company seniors that many artists have been scolded to tears by her."

Su Bai sank deeper into the sofa, his posture relaxing even more.

He looked at Tian Xiwei, then at Wang Churan, and asked in confusion,

"Then why did you still sign with this company?"

Tian Xiwei widened her eyes, her expression as if she had heard something unbelievable,

"So what if she's fierce? Who doesn't know that Baiye Entertainment is the hottest star-making factory in the industry?"

She earnestly counted on her fingers,

"Sister Reza, Sister Bingbing, and that boy band from the talent show last year—they're all from our company. If getting scolded a couple of times can make me famous, I'd be willing to be scolded every day!"

Wang Churan nodded vigorously from the side,

"Yeah, isn't it just a couple of scoldings? My mom scolds me at home too, but she still gives me allowance."

Su Bai laughed,

"You two have a pretty good mindset."

Tian Xiwei blinked, a big-sister expression appearing on her round face,

"If you want to make a living as an artist, the most important thing is your mindset."

"Let me tell you, in this industry, there are plenty of people prettier than you, plenty more talented than you, and plenty with better backgrounds than you. The only thing you can rely on is your mindset."

She patted her own chest and lifted her little head,

"Like me, my mindset is particularly good."

Wang Churan added in a low voice from the side: "She means she has a big chest."

Tian Xiwei glared at her, then turned back to look at Su Bai.

She blinked and leaned forward, saying to Su Bai,

"I think you look younger than us, so there are many things you don't understand. It's okay, big sisters will take care of you from now on."

She said this with a very serious expression, not like she was joking.

Wang Churan also nodded along,

"That's right, handsome, big sisters will cover you from now on."

After she finished speaking, her face turned slightly red, but she didn't look away.

Su Bai rubbed his nose and smiled,

"Then I'll thank you two big sisters in advance."

Tian Xiwei waved her hand with the air of a big-sister,

"You're welcome, you're welcome. We're all in the same company, we should look out for each other."

Then she leaned in closer and lowered her voice,

"Hey, who do you think President Shen is meeting today? I saw her specifically dressing up for it."

Wang Churan's eyes lit up, and she leaned in too,

"Could it be her boyfriend?" Her voice carried a hint of gossipy excitement.

Tian Xiwei shook her head, her expression becoming very professional, like an industry veteran analyzing the situation,

"I don't think so. It wouldn't be this grand just to meet a boyfriend. Our company had the cleaners do a deep clean early this morning, and even the air freshener in the restroom was changed."

She earnestly counted on her fingers,

"The flowers in the conference room were changed, and even the leaves of the plants in President Shen's office were wiped down. With this kind of setup, I'm certain it's definitely not to meet a boyfriend!"

Su Bai looked impressed,

"You even know about the restroom air freshener?"

Tian Xiwei's face turned bright red,

"I went to the restroom, okay?" she whispered. "It smelled nice inside."

Her ear tips turned bright red, but she was still putting up a strong front. "Observing the environment is a basic skill for an artist, understand?"

Wang Churan snickered on the side, then became serious again,

"Then is it possible it's a big leader from above?"

Her voice dropped even lower, so low that Su Bai had to lean in to hear clearly.

Tian Xiwei's eyes widened like copper bells,

"You mean... President Su from Baiye Group?"

Wang Churan nodded solemnly, her expression as if saying, 'I've cracked the case.'

"It's very possible! If it weren't a big leader, with President Shen's personality, why would she take it so seriously?"

Tian Xiwei quickly took out her phone, opened the front-facing camera, and fixed her bangs,

"Then I have to tidy up properly. If the big boss happens to notice me, maybe I'll get more resources."

She pursed her lips at the phone screen and wiped her eyebrows with her finger, the movements smooth and practiced, clearly something she had rehearsed many times.
