98: Chapter 97 We...shall share a room?
As the plane began its descent, the clouds outside the window dispersed.
Hainan lay spread out over the pitch-black sea, adorned with scattered, twinkling lights.
Mu Qing leaned against the porthole, her face almost pressed against the glass, and whispered, "Wow! How beautiful."
The plane flew lower and lower, and the lights became denser.
An announcement echoed through the cabin, a sweet female voice reminding passengers to collect their belongings.
First-class passengers began to stand up.
Su Bai stood up, and Mu Qing stood beside him, rubbing her tired eyes.
The flight attendants stood on both sides of the cabin door to see the passengers off, wearing standard smiles.
Xu Nian stood in the second position on the right.
She stood there with her hands folded in front of her, her posture standard, her smile standard, no different from any other time she had seen passengers off.
Su Bai walked over, dragging his suitcase.
Xu Nian's gaze fell upon him, pausing for a moment.
Her lips moved as if she wanted to say something, but nothing came out.
She simply bowed slightly and said in a very soft voice, "Take care, Mr. Su."
Su Bai glanced at her, nodded, and walked past her.
Mu Qing followed behind and gave a polite smile as she passed Xu Nian.
Xu Nian smiled back, but the smile faded as soon as Mu Qing walked away.
She stood in place, watching that tall figure disappear at the end of the jet bridge.
A colleague beside her nudged her arm gently, "Niannian, what are you daydreaming about?"
Xu Nian snapped out of it, smiled, and said, "It's nothing."
This fated dew-like romance—she didn't know when, if ever, it would continue.
After walking out of the jet bridge, Mu Qing took a deep breath. "It's so warm," she said. "It's a completely different world from Jingzhou."
"Where are we going next?" Mu Qing asked. "Are we taking a taxi?"
Su Bai strode forward, dragging his suitcase. "No need, I've already arranged everything."
Mu Qing trotted to catch up, her strides half the length of his, so she had to walk quickly to keep pace.
Walking out of the terminal entrance, the southern night breeze rushed to meet them.
Mu Qing stood at the entrance and spread her arms, feeling the wind pass through her fingers. "I was wrapped in three layers of clothes in Jingzhou, but here, I feel hot even in short sleeves."
Su Bai didn't speak, just walked toward the parking lot.
Mu Qing hurriedly dragged her suitcase to follow.
Su Bai stopped beside a deep black Lexus business van.
The door opened, and a young man in a white shirt stepped out and bowed slightly. "Hello, President Su. I am the driver from the Hainan branch, surnamed Lin. Everything has been arranged at the hotel."
Su Bai nodded and handed him the suitcase.
Driver Lin took the suitcase and put it in the trunk with brisk, efficient movements.
Mu Qing stood to the side, looking at the shiny business van. She tugged at the corner of Su Bai's coat and asked in a low voice, "Did you arrange this car?"
Su Bai nodded.
Mu Qing opened her mouth, wanting to say something, but said nothing and followed him into the car.
The car was spacious, with leather seats, the air conditioning on, and the temperature just right.
Driver Lin drove very steadily. The car drove out of the airport and onto the highway.
Mu Qing leaned back against the seat, looking at the coconut trees outside the window, and suddenly said, "You still haven't told me where we're going now."
"The hotel. To check in first."
"Which hotel?"
"Junshe."
Mu Qing thought for a moment, but she hadn't heard the name before.
"Can I see the sea?"
"Yes."
Mu Qing smiled, leaned back against the seat, and began to imagine the scene of opening the window tomorrow morning and seeing the sea.
The car drove on the highway for about forty minutes, then turned into a tree-lined road.
The car passed through a coconut grove, and the view suddenly opened up.
A white building was lit up in the night. It wasn't tall, only five or six stories, but it was very wide, like a seabird spreading its wings.
The exterior walls were white, paired with large floor-to-ceiling windows, and the light shining through the windows looked warm and cozy.
There was a fountain at the entrance, and in front of the fountain was a huge lawn with white parasols and rattan tables and chairs. A few guests were there drinking and chatting, their voices drifting over faintly.
The car stopped at the hotel entrance.
A doorman hurried over to open the car door, while another went to the trunk to get the luggage.
Mu Qing got out of the car, stood beside the fountain, and looked up at the building. "So beautiful..." she whispered.
Su Bai walked to her side. "Let's go."
The two of them walked into the lobby.
The front desk was a white marble countertop, with two uniformed staff members standing behind it. Seeing them enter, they bowed slightly.
A middle-aged man in a black suit walked over quickly.
He was about forty years old, his hair combed meticulously, and the smile on his face was just right—neither servile nor overbearing, yet carrying enough warmth. "Hello, President Su. I am the manager of our hotel. You can just call me Little Chen."
"The room is already prepared. It's the presidential suite on the sixth floor, with the best view."
Su Bai nodded. "Thank you for your hard work."
Manager Chen stepped aside to lead the way, taking them toward the elevator.
Mu Qing followed behind Su Bai and secretly tugged on the corner of his coat.
Su Bai slowed his pace, turned his head, and looked at her with a questioning expression. "What's wrong?"
Mu Qing leaned close to his ear and lowered her voice. "Are we two... staying in one room?"
Her voice was very soft, carrying a bit of nervousness, a bit of hesitation, and a little... expectation.
Su Bai looked at her. Her face was a bit red under the lights, her eyes were bright, and her eyelashes were trembling slightly.
He smiled and said, "Are you unwilling?"
Mu Qing's face turned even redder, and she stammered, "I didn't mean that... I just..."
Su Bai didn't tease her further and walked into the elevator on his own.
Mu Qing hurried in, stood beside him, and kept her head down, her ears red.
The elevator doors closed, Manager Chen pressed the button for the sixth floor, and the elevator rose smoothly.
Mu Qing stole a glance at Su Bai. His expression was very calm, with a faint, almost imperceptible smile on the corners of his mouth.
Bad guy! He stopped talking after teasing her.
The elevator doors opened. The sixth-floor corridor was covered with thick carpet, and there was no sound when stepping on it.
Manager Chen walked in front and stopped in front of the door at the very end. He swiped the key card to open the door, stepped aside, and said respectfully, "President Su, Ms. Mu, please."
Su Bai walked in, and Mu Qing followed behind.
The presidential suite was much larger than Mu Qing had imagined.
It wasn't just one room; it was an entire suite.
The living room was huge, furnished with a set of wide, off-white sofas. Opposite the sofa was an entire wall of floor-to-ceiling windows. Outside the window was the sea—the sea in the night, pitch-black, with no visible boundary, only the faint sound of waves lapping against the beach drifting in.
Next to the living room was the dining room, with a long dining table that could seat six people.
Next to the dining room was the kitchen, not large, but fully equipped.
On the other side of the living room were two curtains.
Manager Chen pushed open the curtain on the left. "This is the master bedroom."
The master bedroom was large, with a two-meter-wide bed covered in white bedding. The headboard was upholstered in off-white, with two small paintings hanging above it.
The floor-to-ceiling windows faced the sea directly. The curtains were two layers thick—one layer of gauze and one layer of blackout fabric—which could completely block out the sunlight.
Inside the master bedroom, there was also an independent walk-in closet and a very large bathroom, which contained a bathtub and a shower room.
Manager Chen then pushed open the curtain on the right.
This room was a bit smaller than the master bedroom but still very spacious. It had a 1.6-meter bed, also covered in white bedding, and it also had an independent bathroom and walk-in closet. The window also faced the sea, just at a slightly different angle.
Manager Chen stood in the living room and said to Su Bai, "President Su, if you need anything else, please call the front desk at any time. I am available 24 hours a day."
Su Bai nodded. "Thank you. You may go."
Manager Chen bowed slightly, exited the room, and gently closed the door.
Only the two of them were left in the living room.
Mu Qing stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows, looking at the sea outside.
The sea breeze blew in, causing her clothes to cling to her budding, delicate figure, revealing beautiful curves that were a feast for the eyes.
"It's so big," Mu Qing said, stretching.
Su Bai leaned against the back of the sofa and said with great interest, "What is so big?"
