96: Chapter 96 The Passionate Flight Attendant
Inside the terminal, flight information scrolled across the big screen, and boarding announcements played over the loudspeaker.
Su Bai brought Mu Qing to the check-in counter and took his ID card out of his pocket to hand to the staff member.
The staff member was a young girl in uniform with her hair tied up meticulously and a professional smile on her face.
"Hello, sir. Which flight are you taking?"
Su Bai took out his ID card from his pocket and handed it over.
"I'd like to buy two tickets to Hainan for the earliest flight."
The staff member took the ID cards, lowered her head, and tapped a few times on the computer.
"Please wait a moment, let me check."
Her fingers danced rapidly across the keyboard as flight information flashed by one by one on the screen.
"There is a flight in an hour, direct to Haikou, but only first-class tickets are left."
She looked up at Su Bai. "The price is 4,780 yuan per ticket. Is that okay?"
Su Bai nodded. "That's fine."
Standing behind Su Bai, Mu Qing's eyes widened slightly when she heard the number.
4,780?
She subconsciously touched the bank card in her pocket.
She stepped forward and lowered her voice to say to Su Bai, "Um... isn't first class too expensive? I won't have much money left after buying the tickets."
Su Bai looked back at her. "It's fine. I'll handle it."
Mu Qing opened her mouth, wanting to say something.
Su Bai had already turned back, taken the ID cards from her hand, and handed them along with his own to the staff member.
His movements were natural, as if he were taking his own things.
The staff member picked up Su Bai's ID card and tapped on the computer a few times again.
Then her expression changed.
Looking at Su Bai with a slightly respectful expression, she said, "Mr. Su, you are a Black Gold member of our Jinhai Airlines. According to member benefits, you can upgrade one accompanying passenger for free."
She paused. "Since there are no economy class tickets left in the cabin, we can offer you both a 50% discount. The total for two first-class tickets is 4,780 yuan."
Su Bai nodded. "No problem. Charge the card."
Mu Qing was stunned behind him.
She looked at Su Bai's back, then at the staff member's respectful expression.
Black Gold member?
What kind of membership gives a 50% discount directly?!
Su Bai finished paying and took the ID cards and tickets.
The staff member walked out from behind the counter and bowed slightly.
"Mr. Su, please follow me. Your flight is boarding in Zone B. I will take you to the VIP lounge."
Su Bai nodded and looked back at Mu Qing. "Let's go."
Mu Qing dragged her suitcase to follow, walking behind the staff member, and whispered to Su Bai, "What is a Black Gold member?"
"It just means I fly a lot."
"Flying a lot makes it that much cheaper?"
Su Bai thought for a moment. "Hmm... pretty much."
He thought to himself, he couldn't exactly tell Mu Qing that he had bought a private jet from their company.
There was no need to be so high-profile.
The staff member brought them to a door in Zone B. The door was dark brown, with a copper plate embedded on it, engraved with the words "VIP Lounge."
She pushed the door open and stepped aside to let the two of them enter first.
Mu Qing walked in and paused.
The lounge was huge, bigger than the school cafeteria.
The floor was dark marble, quiet when stepped on.
The sofas were wide leather ones, dark brown, each with a small side table. There was a row of recliners by the window, facing the floor-to-ceiling windows.
Further in was the dining area.
The long buffet table was filled with food—hot dishes, cold dishes, staples, soup, fruit, and desserts, and there was a small refrigerator inside containing various drinks and beer.
Next to it was a bar counter, where a bartender stood wiping glasses.
Mu Qing stood in front of the buffet table, looking at the food, and didn't move for a long time.
Su Bai put the suitcase aside and sat down on the sofa. "Eat if you want to."
Mu Qing turned to look at him. "Are these... all free?"
"Yes."
Mu Qing took a deep breath, took a plate, and started to pick up food.
She was very restrained in her serving: a small piece of cake, a few slices of fruit, and a glass of orange juice.
Then she carried the plate, sat down opposite Su Bai, and ate in small bites.
Su Bai only took a cup of tea and leaned back on the sofa.
Mu Qing ate very seriously, each bite small, chewing very slowly.
When she ate the cake, she squinted her eyes, and the corners of her mouth curled up, as if she were very satisfied.
"Is it good?" Su Bai asked.
Mu Qing nodded. "Yes."
She took another bite, and cake crumbs got stuck on the corner of her mouth; she stuck out her tongue to lick them off.
Then she looked up, thought for a moment, and held the spoon out to Su Bai. "Do you want some?"
"I'm not hungry."
Mu Qing looked at him, put down the fork, and a flash of disappointment crossed her eyes. "Alright then."
After finishing these, Mu Qing went to get a cup of coffee and some fruit.
Su Bai watched her run back and forth and couldn't help but laugh. "Are you trying to eat back the cost of the ticket?"
Mu Qing walked back with a soup bowl, her face a little red. "It's free anyway..."
Su Bai smiled and didn't tease her anymore.
After eating, Mu Qing leaned back on the sofa and let out a long breath. "I'm full."
"Then let's go." Su Bai stood up. "It's about time."
The two dragged their suitcases out of the VIP lounge.
The staff member was already waiting at the door, holding two boarding passes.
"Mr. Su, your flight is boarding. Please follow me."
She led them through a separate passage, no need to queue or push, directly entering the boarding gate from a side door.
Walking to the cabin door, a flight attendant stood there, wearing a dark blue uniform with a silk scarf tied at her collar, smiling standardly.
"Welcome aboard."
Her gaze lingered on Su Bai for a moment. "Mr. Su, your seats are in the first row on the left."
First class was at the very front of the plane.
Eight seats, two per row.
The seats were dark brown leather, wide like a single sofa, with a small control panel on the side.
There was a large screen in front of every seat.
Su Bai sat down in the aisle seat.
Mu Qing sat next to him, in the window seat.
She sat down, touched the leather surface of the seat, and pressed the button on the armrest; the seat slowly reclined, the footrest rose, and she sank into it, as if wrapped up.
"So comfortable..." she whispered.
The plane began to taxi.
About ten minutes later, the plane leveled off, and the seatbelt sign turned off.
The lights in first class dimmed, leaving only the warm yellow light of the reading lamps.
Mu Qing leaned back in her seat, breathing evenly, already feeling sleepy.
Su Bai dimmed the reading light above his head, leaned back in his seat, and closed his eyes.
"Sir, would you like something to drink?"
The voice was very soft, with a hint of caution, as if afraid of waking the person next to him.
Su Bai opened his eyes.
A pure-looking flight attendant stood in the aisle, bending over to look at him.
She was very young, in her early twenties, with a round face, big eyes, and thick, fluttering eyelashes.
Her uniform was neat, but the button at the collar was either unbuttoned or had popped open, revealing a patch of fair skin.
On her legs was a pair of sheer black stockings.
She held a tray with a few bottles of mineral water and a small basket of nuts.
Su Bai shook his head. "No, thank you."
The flight attendant didn't leave.
She placed the tray on the service counter nearby, took a small bag of nuts from the basket, knelt halfway on the floor, and handed it to him. "Then have some nuts. It takes more than three hours to fly to Haikou; you'll be hungry on the way."
Su Bai took it. "Thank you."
"You're welcome. It is my honor to serve you."
The flight attendant smiled, turned, and walked away, swaying her perky buttocks and tall figure.
Not long after, the footsteps returned.
"Sir, if you are hungry, we have light meals in first class. Would you like to have some?" It was the same voice.
Su Bai opened his eyes.
The flight attendant stood in the aisle, holding a menu in her hand.
The menu was leather-bound and compact; she handed it over with both hands, leaning her body slightly forward.
This posture made the opening of her collar a bit wider.
Su Bai took the menu, flipped through it. "I'll have the beef rice."
"Okay." The flight attendant took the menu and turned to leave.
Five minutes later, the beef rice was delivered.
On the tray, besides the rice, there was a small bowl of soup.
The flight attendant placed the tray on the small table in front of him, arranging everything one by one.
She was bending over, moving very slowly, as if showing something off.
After setting it up, she didn't leave.
She stood in the aisle, holding the empty tray, looking at him.
"Sir, do you fly with Jinhai Airlines often?"
Su Bai picked up his chopsticks. "Occasionally."
"Then you are our Black Gold member." Her voice carried a hint of admiration. "Black Gold members are very rare; we only have a few on our entire route."
Su Bai grunted an "Mm" and started eating.
The beef was stewed until tender, the rice grains were distinct, and it tasted quite good.
The flight attendant was still standing in the aisle. "Sir, are you going to Haikou for tourism or business?"
"Tourism."
"Oh—" she drew out the sound. "Do you have an itinerary arranged? I am from Haikou; I can recommend some good food and fun places for you."
Su Bai looked up and glanced at her.
The flight attendant stood there, smiling, her eyes sparkling, looking at him expectantly.
"No need, thank you." Su Bai lowered his head and continued eating.
The flight attendant's smile stiffened for a moment but quickly recovered. "Then please enjoy your meal; call me anytime if you need anything."
Su Bai finished his meal and pressed the call button.
Another flight attendant came to collect the tray; it wasn't the previous one.
He leaned back in his seat, dimmed the reading light, and closed his eyes.
Not long after, the footsteps came again.
When passing his seat, her body "accidentally" swayed, and she braced her hand on his thigh!
"Oh my—"
She steadied herself, looked down at him, but didn't have the slightest intention of getting up.
Her face was very close to him, her eyes carrying a faint, subtle hint, and she said in a sweet, coquettish voice, "Sorry, Mr. Su, there was a bit of turbulence, my legs went weak, and I don't think I can get up."
Su Bai looked up and took a breath.
The plane was very stable.
The clouds outside the window were motionless, and the water in the cup didn't even ripple.
