53: Chapter 53 The Student Council President's Harassment
When the panamera drove into Lanyuan Residential Area, the young security guard saluted again with a standard salute.
Su Bai nodded and parked the car downstairs.
He went upstairs and opened the door.
The room was very quiet.
Su Bai walked to his room and changed his clothes.
A black turtleneck sweater, dark gray casual trousers, and a short wool coat on top.
He looked in the mirror.
Not bad.
Super handsome!
He leaned against the headboard, took out his phone, and scrolled through his messages.
He had watched a movie with Mu Qing today, and now he still felt a bit... you know.
He needed to calm down.
At 5:30 PM, Su Bai went out.
The panamera drove toward Jingzhou University.
Around 6 o'clock, the car stopped at the school gate.
The school gate was already decorated with lights and colorful banners, and a huge red archway was inscribed with the large characters "Jingzhou University 60th Anniversary Celebration."
There were many people coming and going: students, teachers, and outsiders dressed in formal attire.
Su Bai sent a message to Luo Ying.
[ Arrived. ]
[ Wait a moment, I'll come find you. ]
Soon, Luo Ying ran out from the crowd.
Today, she was wearing the service staff's uniform of a white shirt and black long skirt, and she had applied light makeup, making her look much more refined than usual.
"Su Bai!"
"Let's go," she said, pulling his arm as they walked inside, "The gala is about to start."
The two walked through the crowd and entered the campus.
The Jingzhou University campus was huge, and tonight it was brilliantly illuminated.
Both sides of the main road were hung with colorful lights, and every tree was wrapped in strings of twinkling lights.
Students wore festive attire, walking in twos and threes toward the auditorium.
Luo Ying introduced things as they walked.
"The auditorium is the main venue tonight, with speeches from leaders and artistic performances. There's also a cold buffet at the gymnasium, and many alumni are over there."
"By the way, Diliyereza will be performing tonight; tickets for the public were snapped up like crazy..."
Su Bai listened, nodding occasionally.
When they reached the auditorium entrance, Luo Ying stopped.
"I have to go to the backstage to help," she said,
"Are you going in by yourself? Or should we go to the cold buffet first?"
Su Bai thought about it.
"The cold buffet."
"Okay." Luo Ying handed him a dining card and pointed in a direction,
"The gymnasium is over there; just keep walking and you'll see it. I'll come find you when I'm done."
She turned to leave, but then stopped.
"By the way, among the alumni who came today is General Manager Zhou Zhaolong from Fengxian Construction—the one with a net worth of over two billion that we talked about yesterday. He should be at the cold buffet right now. If you're interested, you could go meet him."
Su Bai raised an eyebrow.
General Manager Zhou Zhaolong?
There's no need for that.
"Okay." He didn't want to reject Luo Ying's kindness.
Luo Ying waved and ran off; it was clear she was really busy.
Su Bai followed the direction she pointed and walked toward the gymnasium.
The gymnasium was brilliantly lit.
Huge crystal chandeliers hung from the dome, illuminating the entire venue.
Long tables were arranged all around, covered with snow-white tablecloths and laden with various delicacies and drinks.
People gathered in twos and threes, clinking glasses and chatting happily.
Those who could enter here, apart from students, were prominent figures among the alumni: entrepreneurs, political figures, renowned scholars, and school leaders.
Of course, there were also students like Song Qian who were responsible for conference affairs.
She was wearing the service staff's uniform of a white shirt and black long skirt, her hair pinned up, revealing her slender neck.
She carried a tray as she wove through the crowd, serving champagne and snacks to the guests, her posture graceful and her expression indifferent.
Chu Yi was also helping nearby.
Luo Ying was in the External Relations Department, responsible for receiving guests.
Chu Yi had insisted on coming along, saying she wanted to see the big event, but in reality, she just wanted to watch the excitement.
"Is that Diliyereza?" Chu Yi said, standing on tiptoes and peering into the crowd, "She's so beautiful..."
Luo Ying looked in the direction of her gaze.
Diliyereza stood in the center of the crowd, surrounded by a few people talking to her.
She was wearing a wine-red long dress, her makeup was exquisite, and she looked stunning when she smiled.
"She is quite beautiful," Luo Ying exclaimed.
"What about that one?" Chu Yi pointed to the other side, "Is that General Manager Zhou Zhaolong?"
General Manager Zhou Zhaolong stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, talking to an elderly man with gray hair.
He was wearing a dark gray suit, his physique was well-maintained, and he looked to be in his early forties.
He nodded slightly while speaking, his demeanor modest, but there was an air of long-held authority in his eyes.
"Yes, the General Manager of Fengxian Construction," Luo Ying lowered her voice, "The one with a net worth of over two billion."
Chu Yi smacked her lips.
"Over two billion... how much money is that? It could probably crush me to death..."
Just as they were speaking, a young man in a dark blue suit walked toward them.
He looked to be twenty-five or twenty-six, handsome enough, but there was something uncomfortable in his eyes, like the scrutiny of a hunter eyeing prey.
"Song Qian." He stopped in front of Song Qian and greeted her with a smile, "You've worked hard."
Song Qian nodded slightly.
"President Qi Mingxing."
Student Union President Qi Mingxing, the Student Union President of Jingzhou University, a senior, rumored to have family connections and to be going directly into a certain state-owned enterprise after graduation.
"Don't be so formal," President Qi Mingxing leaned in, "Just call me Mingxing."
Song Qian didn't reply and took half a step back.
President Qi Mingxing didn't mind and continued:
"The people who came to this occasion today are all big shots. The one over there, General Manager Zhou Zhaolong, did you see him?"
Song Qian followed his gaze, took a look, and nodded.
"I'm very familiar with him," President Qi Mingxing said, his tone carrying a hint of pride.
Song Qian didn't speak.
Chu Yi was listening nearby and curled her lips.
Knowing a big shot, what's there to brag about?!
President Qi Mingxing continued:
"I'll introduce you later. A big shot like him will definitely be helpful for you when you're looking for a job after graduation."
He paused and lowered his voice,
"If you're willing, you could even go straight into Fengxian Construction."
Song Qian looked at him with an indifferent gaze.
"Thank you, President Qi Mingxing, but no need."
President Qi Mingxing was stunned for a moment.
"No need?" He laughed,
"Song Qian, do you know what level of company Fengxian Construction is? A market value of over two billion! How many people would break their necks trying to get in, but can't!"
"But... it might just be a matter of a word from me. Won't you reconsider?"
"I will not."
President Qi Mingxing's smile froze on his face.
He leaned in another step, lowering his voice.
"Song Qian, you should know what my intentions are toward you."
"I know your family background isn't good, but I don't care."
"As long as you agree to be my girlfriend, I'll take care of the job matter. From now on in Jingzhou, no one will dare to bully you!"
Song Qian looked at him, her gaze still indifferent.
"President Qi Mingxing, I still have work to do." She turned to leave, holding her tray.
President Qi Mingxing reached out to grab her, but was blocked by Chu Yi, who was standing nearby.
"What are you doing?" Chu Yi blocked Song Qian, glaring at him, "If you want to talk, just talk. Why are you getting handsy?!"
She had heard everything clearly, and her face was red with anger.
"Don't dream!" She stood in front of Song Qian, glaring at President Qi Mingxing,
"Our Sister Qian would never be your girlfriend for something like that!"
President Qi Mingxing glanced at her. His gaze slid down from her face, circled her exposed shoulders and collarbone, and then landed on her legs beneath her short skirt.
Today, Chu Yi was wearing casual clothes: a pink off-the-shoulder sweater paired with a white short skirt, revealing a section of her fair calves.
She wasn't tall, but her face was round, her eyes were big, and she looked both cute and charming.
"So what if you know a big shot? We can strike up a conversation ourselves! Do we need your introduction?"
"Fine, go ahead and try." President Qi Mingxing sneered, looking at Chu Yi with interest.
Tsk, this girl is not bad either. I heard she has a twin sister. If I could get them both, that feeling...
Chu Yi felt very uncomfortable under his gaze.
But she didn't back down.
"Try it, I will try it!"
Chu Yi stomped her feet in anger.
