144: Chapter 143 Li Longyu's Invitation

Luo Ying: "Su Bai, have you ever thought about when you'll move out?"

Su Bai looked up at her.

"If you don't want me living here anymore, I can move out at any time."

He put down his phone and leaned back against the sofa.

"You know, I'm not short on money. Renting or buying a house isn't difficult for me."

Luo Ying lowered her head, her fingers tapping lightly on her knees.

"I... didn't mean that. I just wanted to know the answer."

Su Bai looked at her.

"Well, now you know."

Luo Ying raised her head and looked into his eyes.

"I didn't mean I wanted you to leave. We're all quite happy when you're here."

Su Bai nodded.

"Mm, I'm quite happy, too."

Luo Ying looked at him, hesitated for a moment, then stood up.

"That's good."

She walked to the door, paused for a moment without looking back, pushed it open, and left.

Su Bai sat on the sofa, picked up his phone, and continued scrolling.

The matter was settled just like that.

The next day at school.

During study hall, the classroom was quiet, and everyone was doing their homework.

Li Longyu, sitting next to Su Bai, had her head down, holding a pen and doodling on her scratch paper without writing much.

Su Bai glanced at her but said nothing.

After a while, Li Longyu's pen stopped.

She turned to look at Su Bai, her lips moved, but she turned back.

Su Bai continued doing his problems.

After another while, Li Longyu turned again.

This time she spoke, her voice suppressed very low, low enough that only Su Bai could hear.

"Su Bai, do you know of any part-time jobs I could do?"

Su Bai put down his pen and looked at her.

"Are you short on money?"

Li Longyu lowered her head, drawing a circle on the scratch paper, then another.

"Mm, something happened at home, and I want to earn some living expenses myself."

Su Bai thought for a moment.

"Sure, I'll help you look."

Li Longyu looked up at him, her eyes filled with gratitude.

"Thank you."

Su Bai turned back and continued with his work.

Li Longyu also turned back, picked up her pen, and started writing on the scratch paper.

This time she wasn't drawing circles; she was writing English words, writing quickly, line after line.

During the break, Su Bai left the classroom and walked to the end of the corridor.

Mu Qing followed behind him. The two went down the stairs one after the other, crossed the playground, and walked to the small woods behind it.

The woods were not big, planted with a dozen poplar trees. The trees were tall and dense, blocking out the sunlight completely.

A thick layer of leaves had fallen on the ground; stepping on them was soft and silent.

Mu Qing leaned against a tree trunk, looking up at Su Bai.

"Why did you call me out here?"

Su Bai didn't speak; he walked over and pressed her against the tree.

"Mm."

Mu Qing's face flushed red.

"Are you crazy? What if someone sees us?"

Su Bai didn't speak.

He lowered his head.

Mu Qing's hands gripped his school uniform, her knuckles turning white.

The wind blew through the poplar leaves, rustling loudly, masking other sounds.

Half an hour later, Su Bai let her go.

Mu Qing leaned against the tree, panting, her face flushed red and her lips slightly swollen.

"Can you give me a heads-up next time?"

Su Bai looked at her.

"Would it still be interesting if I did?"

Mu Qing glared at him, but the corners of her mouth were curled up.

Su Bai reached out and brushed the hair away from the corner of her mouth.

Mu Qing grabbed his hand, squeezed it, then let go.

"Let's go, class is about to start."

The two walked out of the woods one after the other.

Neither of them noticed a pair of eyes watching them from upstairs for the past half hour.

Mu Qing walked in front, stepping quickly, without looking back.

Su Bai walked behind, hands in his pockets, his pace steady.

When they returned to the classroom, the bell rang just in time.

Mu Qing sat back in her seat, opened her textbook, and pretended to read.

Su Bai sat back next to Li Longyu.

Li Longyu glanced at him, a flash of disbelief in her eyes, but she didn't show it.

She didn't say anything either, turning back to continue writing English words.

After school, Su Bai didn't go straight home.

He hadn't been to the Gym for several days and wanted to work out today.

He went straight to the Gym.

Pushing open the glass door, the Round-faced girl at the front desk was organizing the registration forms; her eyes lit up when she saw him.

"Mr. Su! Long time no see!"

Su Bai nodded.

He changed his clothes and walked into the equipment area.

Amy and Han Xiaoxiao were both there.

Amy was wearing a black sports bra and matching yoga pants, her short blonde hair shining under the lights as she leaned against the power rack drinking water.

Han Xiaoxiao was wearing a white sports T-shirt and pink yoga shorts, with her hair in a high ponytail, doing stretches on a yoga mat.

Both of them stopped what they were doing when they saw him.

The Front desk girl followed, looking at Amy, then at Han Xiaoxiao, a difficult expression on her face.

"Mr. Su, which personal trainer would you like to use today?"

Su Bai looked at Amy, then at Han Xiaoxiao.

Amy leaned against the power rack, arms crossed, a smile on her lips, light in her eyes.

Han Xiaoxiao stood up from the yoga mat, hands hanging by her sides, fingers twisting the hem of her shirt, her face slightly flushed.

Su Bai thought for a moment.

He didn't like choosing; he wanted both!

"How about this, help me top up a card for Coach Xiaoxiao, and have them both accompany me for my workout."

The Front desk girl was stunned for a moment, her mouth hanging open, forgetting to close it.

But her hands didn't stop; she efficiently topped up another card for Su Bai and handed it over.

Han Xiaoxiao quickly waved her hands.

"Mr. Su, there's no need for that, it's such a waste."

Su Bai said it didn't matter; he couldn't let her accompany him for nothing.

Han Xiaoxiao looked at him, her face turning even redder, her fingers twisting her hem until her knuckles turned white.

She lowered her head and whispered a thank you.

Amy watched Su Bai from the side, licking her lips.

She placed her water bottle on the shelf nearby and patted Han Xiaoxiao on the shoulder.

"Xiaoxiao, why don't you go mix a creatine drink for Mr. Su first."

Han Xiaoxiao nodded and turned to leave.

Amy walked up to Su Bai and reached out to grab his wrist.

"Mr. Su, let me take you to change."

Su Bai understood what Amy meant and didn't refuse.

The two walked into the VIP changing room, and the door closed.

Han Xiaoxiao was behind the bar mixing creatine, pouring the pink powder into the cup, adding water, and stirring.

She stirred very slowly, eyes fixed on the swirling liquid in the cup, her mind wandering.

A long time later, Su Bai and Amy came out of the changing room.

Su Bai had changed into his sportswear, his expression perfectly normal.

Amy followed behind him, her face very red, her lips more swollen than when she went in, her short blonde hair stuck to her forehead, dampened by sweat.

Han Xiaoxiao stood in the hallway holding the creatine, stomping her feet in anxiety.

"Why did you take so long? The creatine has gone cold!"

Su Bai smiled but didn't speak.

Amy brushed the hair from her forehead, her voice slightly hoarse.

"We... rested for a while inside."

Han Xiaoxiao looked at Amy's flushed face and satisfied expression and immediately understood what had happened.

Her face flushed red, from her cheeks to the tips of her ears, and from her ears to the roots of her neck.

She lowered her head and handed the creatine to Su Bai, not daring to look at him.

Su Bai took the cup, took a sip, and placed it on the shelf nearby.

"Let's start training."
