70: Chapter 70 Can We Sign a Contract?

When Su Bai came out after his shower, he was still in a state of agitation.

He had been rinsing off with cold water for over ten minutes; his body had cooled down, but the fire inside him hadn't dissipated.

He returned to his room, lay on the bed, and stared at the ceiling.

The scenes from the bathroom just now kept playing over and over in his mind, frame by frame.

He rolled over and buried his face in the pillow.

He was so worked up!

Just then, his phone vibrated.

He picked it up and saw it was a message from Xin Yaoqiao.

He tapped it open.

She had sent three photos.

The first showed a pair of legs lying on a bed, wearing black silk stockings—the semi-sheer kind, where the fair skin underneath was faintly visible.

The lighting was very suggestive; the dim yellow glow of the bedside lamp fell across the legs, outlining their slender curves.

The second was the same legs, but from a different angle, crossed, shot from below to make them look even longer.

The ankles were slender, the toes rounded, painted with dark red nail polish.

The third showed the owner of the legs standing up, shot only from the mid-thigh down.

The caption read: "These are my newly bought black stockings, semi-sheer. How are they? Do they look good?"

Su Bai looked at the three photos.

What the hell!

His agitation only grew worse!

He simply tossed his phone aside and covered himself with the quilt.

Time to sleep!

When he woke up, it was already past four in the afternoon.

Su Bai opened his eyes; outside the window, the sky had already dimmed, turning grey and almost pitch black.

He sat up, rubbed his face, his mind still a bit foggy.

He hadn't eaten lunch, and his stomach was growling with hunger.

He pushed the door open and walked out; the living room was very quiet.

Lin Qiaoyou's bedroom door was tightly shut, and there was no light under the door crack.

Su Bai walked to her door and knocked.

"Sister Qiaoyou?"

No answer.

He knocked again.

"Have you eaten? I'm ordering takeout; should I order one for you too?"

Still no response.

Su Bai waited a few seconds, then turned and walked away.

Maybe she was asleep.

He returned to his room, pulled out his phone, and opened the food delivery app.

Two steaks, a fried food platter, and two portions of potato wedges.

He placed the order and paid.

After waiting about forty minutes, the food arrived.

Su Bai carried the bag to the dining table, opened the packaging, and the aroma drifted out.

He glanced at Lin Qiaoyou's bedroom door.

Still no movement.

He walked over and knocked again, saying,

"Sister Qiaoyou? The food is here. Come out and have some?"

The room remained silent.

Su Bai frowned.

He tried turning the doorknob, but it was locked.

He waited a few seconds, but ultimately gave up.

Maybe she really was asleep.

Or... was she scared by him?

He returned to the dining table and started eating by himself.

The steak was cooked well, medium-well, full of juices.

The fried food platter had chicken wings, calamari rings, and french fries, served with ketchup and tartar sauce.

Halfway through his meal, the sound of a key turning in the lock came from the doorway.

Song Qian pushed the door open and entered.

She was wearing a brown wool coat today, left open to reveal a white shirt underneath.

The shirt was tucked into a black skirt, the hem reaching above her knees.

Her legs were wrapped in black silk stockings, hugging her slender legs and shimmering slightly under the entryway light.

She was carrying a bag, and her face showed signs of exhaustion.

Seeing Su Bai, she paused for a moment.

"You're still at home?"

"Yeah," Su Bai nodded. "Have you eaten?"

"Not yet."

"Want to join me?" Su Bai pointed to the takeout on the table. "I ordered too much."

Song Qian hesitated for a moment.

"Sure."

She put down her bag, changed into slippers, and went to her own room first.

A few minutes later, she walked out.

She had changed her clothes.

She was wearing a white low-cut T-shirt on top and a black bodycon skirt on the bottom, tightly wrapping her hips and outlining her full curves.

The T-shirt was tucked into the skirt, making her waist look exceptionally slender and accentuating the lines of her hips and legs.

She walked over and sat down opposite Su Bai.

Su Bai's gaze lingered on her for a moment.

Dressing like this, what was she planning?

Song Qian was a bit different today compared to usual.

Usually, she was always cool and aloof, indifferent to everyone.

But today, there seemed to be something different about her.

Su Bai withdrew his gaze and pushed the steak towards her.

"Eat up."

Song Qian picked up her knife and fork and began to eat.

As they ate, they chatted aimlessly.

They talked about Lin Qiaoyou.

Song Qian swallowed the steak in her mouth:

"Oh, right, Qiaoyou sent me a message this afternoon saying she had something to take care of at home and would be staying there for two days."

Su Bai was stunned.

She went home?

No wonder!

He recalled his impulse that afternoon and Lin Qiaoyou's stumbling back into her room.

So... she ran home?

"When did she leave?" he asked.

"Probably around two or three in the afternoon," Song Qian replied.

Two or three in the afternoon?

That was after he had fallen asleep.

Su Bai was silent for a few seconds.

It seemed his loss of control at noon really had scared her.

He didn't say anything else and continued eating.

But...

Now there were only he and Song Qian at home?

After they finished eating, Song Qian took the initiative to clean up the dishes and took them to the kitchen to wash.

Su Bai leaned back on the sofa and pulled out his phone.

Song Qian went to the kitchen, washed a plate of grapes, brought them over, and placed them on the coffee table.

The grapes were purple, each one plump, with water droplets still clinging to them, crystal clear.

She sat down next to him.

Su Bai was sending a message to General Manager Zhou Zhaolong.

[Prepare for tomorrow; I'm going to the company.]

General Manager Zhou Zhaolong replied instantly: [Understood, President Su! What time will you arrive? I'll arrange a car to pick you up!]

Su Bai replied: [No need to pick me up, I'll go myself. Around nine.]

General Manager Zhou Zhaolong replied again: [Understood! I'll be waiting for you!]

Just as Su Bai was about to put down his phone, a pair of cold hands suddenly reached out from behind and covered his eyes.

He couldn't help but be stunned.

Immediately, a grape was placed into his mouth.

Su Bai froze.

Song Qian's voice sounded in his ear, soft and with a hint of nervousness:

"Su Bai."

Su Bai's body stiffened instantly.

"I don't want to work hard anymore." Her voice was very soft, but every word was clear.

"Can I sign a contract with you?"

"To be your contractor."
