90: Chapter 90 Another Date with Yin Suwan
After finishing her porridge, Lin Qiaoyou sat at the dining table for a while, checked her phone, and then stood up.
"I'm going back to my room to catch up on sleep."
Lin Qiaoyou put her bowl back on the table and turned to walk towards her room.
As she reached the doorway, she looked back at Su Bai.
Su Bai was still sitting there, his posture unchanged, leaning against the back of the chair with a very calm expression.
She always felt that something was a little strange, but she couldn't put her finger on it, so she pushed the door open and walked into her room.
The door closed.
The living room quieted down.
A few seconds later, Song Qian crawled out from under the table.
Her face was very red, her hair was a bit messy, and her knees were red from kneeling.
She steadied herself against the edge of the table as she stood up, her legs a bit weak, stumbling slightly before finding her footing.
Su Bai looked down at her knees—they were bruised.
Following his gaze, Song Qian looked down too, pulling the hem of her lounge pants down to cover her knees.
"It's nothing," she whispered.
Su Bai stood up and adjusted his clothes.
"Pack your things. When are you leaving?"
"As soon as possible," Song Qian said. "If I can get a ticket."
Su Bai nodded and walked toward Luo Ying's room; he wanted to take a shower.
Upon reaching the door, he stopped and looked back.
"Remember to apply some medicine to your knees when you get back."
Song Qian was stunned for a moment, then smiled and nodded.
"Okay."
Su Bai pushed the door open and entered the room.
Song Qian stood by the dining table, watching his closed door, then looked down at her knees and reached out to touch them.
They hurt a little, but her heart felt warm.
She seemed to be gradually becoming addicted to this feeling with Su Bai.
It had nothing to do with money, nothing to do with love; it was just a pure desire to...
At three in the afternoon, Song Qian finished packing her luggage.
One suitcase, one backpack—simple and straightforward.
She changed into ordinary clothes: a turtleneck sweater, jeans, and sneakers.
All the luxury goods Su Bai had bought for her were neatly stored in the wardrobe; she didn't take a single one.
Lin Qiaoyou came out of her room to see her off, reluctant to part.
"Sister Qian, when will you be back?"
"Around the tenth day of the new year," Song Qian said. "It depends on the situation."
Lin Qiaoyou nodded, holding her hand with lingering attachment.
"Then come back early, okay?"
Song Qian smiled, patted the back of her hand, and said, "Take care of yourself, don't stay up late, and eat on time."
"Mm."
Song Qian glanced at Su Bai.
Su Bai was leaning on the sofa, looking at his phone.
"I'll take you to the station," he said, standing up.
Song Qian shook her head.
"No need, I can just take a taxi."
Su Bai ignored her, picked up the car keys, grabbed her suitcase, and walked outside.
Song Qian looked at his back, opened her mouth, but eventually followed him.
Lin Qiaoyou stood at the doorway, watching them enter the elevator.
Once the elevator doors closed, she withdrew her gaze, closed the door, and walked back to her room.
Something wasn't right!
Those two were acting strange!
Downstairs, the panamera was parked quietly.
Su Bai put the suitcase in the trunk, and Song Qian sat in the passenger seat and fastened her seatbelt.
The car drove out of the residential complex and merged into the traffic.
Neither of them spoke much along the way.
The car stopped at the departures level of the train station.
Su Bai got out of the car and took the suitcase out of the trunk.
Song Qian stood in front of him, looking at him.
"Message me when you arrive," Su Bai said.
Song Qian nodded.
"Mm."
The two were silent for a few seconds.
"Master, I'm leaving then."
Song Qian took the suitcase and turned to leave.
"Sister Qian," Su Bai called out to her.
Song Qian looked back. Su Bai looked at her, silent for a second.
"Happy New Year."
Song Qian was stunned for a moment.
Then she smiled, a faint but beautiful smile.
"Happy New Year."
She turned and walked into the station, disappearing into the crowd.
The car drove out of the station and merged into the traffic.
His phone vibrated; it was a message from Song Qian: [I've boarded, thank you, Master.] followed by a "kiss" emoji.
Su Bai glanced at it but didn't reply.
He put his phone down and continued driving.
Not long after, his phone received a call.
Su Bai glanced at the screen—Yin Suwan.
He answered, and her soft, sweet voice came through, carrying a hint of cautious probing.
"Boss, do you have time tonight? I'd like to invite you to dinner."
Su Bai glanced at the gray sky outside the car window.
After seeing Song Qian off, he would just be alone at home, and Lin Qiaoyou was hard to deal with right now.
She was scared of him like you wouldn't believe.
"Alright," he agreed.
Yin Suwan's voice immediately brightened.
"Really? What would you like to eat? I'll book a table—"
"No need to book," Su Bai thought for a moment. "I'll send you a location, just head straight there."
"Okay!" Yin Suwan was stunned for a moment, then quickly agreed.
Su Bai sent her an address; it was a place in the suburbs of the neighboring city called Su Manor.
"Search for it on your GPS, you should be able to find it."
Yin Suwan didn't ask any further questions and obediently replied.
"Okay, Boss, I'll leave right away."
"See you later, Oppa."
Su Bai hung up the phone, turned the steering wheel, and got straight on the highway.
Su Manor—he hadn't been there in a long time.
It was built a few years ago, and in a few more years, it would be demolished for redevelopment.
By then, the compensation would be 20 times what he had paid for the land.
He had originally intended to make it a private villa, but it gradually turned into a place for entertaining merchants and celebrities.
It occupied a large area, with mountains, water, and hot springs—everything needed for dining, lodging, and recreation.
It wasn't open to the public, so there was usually no one there.
He drove fast. Over an hour later, he got off the highway and drove for another ten minutes, passing through some farmland and a small village, when the view suddenly opened up.
A long wall extended along the foot of the mountain; inside the wall, one could vaguely see buildings with flying eaves and upturned corners, as well as groves of bamboo.
The gate was a traditional archway style with blue bricks and gray tiles, and two large characters were carved on the lintel: Su Manor.
A car was parked at the entrance—a white Maserati.
A woman was standing next to the car, hugging her arms and stomping her feet, clearly freezing.
Su Bai parked his car next to her, rolled down the window, and said, "You got here pretty fast."
Yin Suwan leaned over to the car window, a smile on her face.
"I happened to be on the highway, so when I got your call, I didn't get off; I just came straight here."
Su Bai sized her up.
She wore a low-cut black sweater with a very deep neckline, revealing a large expanse of fair collarbones and the faint outline of her chest.
She had a beige cape draped over her shoulders; it looked fuzzy and warm, but in reality, it couldn't block the wind at all.
On her lower body was a black leather skirt, short enough to barely cover her buttocks, and beneath that was a pair of black stockings—the very thin kind—which looked freezing in the winter wind.
She was wearing over-the-knee boots, which did cover her calves, but her thighs were left exposed.
Her face was a bit red from the cold, and the tip of her nose was red too, though her lips were still moist, coated in a light lipstick.
Seeing Su Bai looking at her, she blinked, stood up straight, and spun around.
"Do you like it, Oppa?"
Su Bai didn't answer; he pushed the car door open, got out, and reached out with his large hand to wrap around her waist.
Two security guards at the entrance had been standing straight; seeing him get out of the car, they immediately saluted.
They were men in their early twenties, with sturdy builds and sharp gazes, standing there like two pine trees.
One could tell at a glance they were veterans; they had a temperament that ordinary security guards didn't possess.
Su Bai walked over, took two red envelopes out of his pocket, and handed one to each of them.
"Working during the New Year, thank you for your hard work."
The two security guards took them with both hands and thanked him repeatedly.
"Thank you, President Su! Thank you, President Su!"
Su Bai waved his hand, casually wrapped his arm around Yin Suwan's waist, and walked into the manor.
