126: Chapter 125 Then continue.
Su Bai crouched down and took a look inside the washing machine.
Lin Qiaoyou's hair was indeed stuck; a few strands were wrapped around the screw of the drum, wrapped very tightly.
She tilted her head, her face turned toward the inside of the washing machine, and one could only see her side profile, which was flushed red, with tears in her eyes.
"Don't move, I'll help you."
Su Bai reached out his hand and began to help her untangle her hair.
The space inside the drum was very small, and his fingers touched her ears and her cheeks.
Her skin was very hot, as if she had a fever.
His breath sprayed onto her neck, feeling ticklish, and she shrank her neck, tilting her head even further.
Su Bai's fingers wove through her hair, untangling the hair wrapped around the screw strand by strand, his movements very slow and gentle.
It was as if he were deliberately dawdling.
Lin Qiaoyou lay there, not daring to move.
She could feel his fingers lightly grazing her scalp, ticklish and tingling, traveling from the top of her head all the way to the soles of her feet.
Her legs were a bit weak, and she held onto the edge of the washing machine, her nails sinking into the plastic casing.
After a long while, Su Bai finally untangled the last strand of hair.
He gently supported her head as he pulled it out of the washing machine, and Lin Qiaoyou straightened up, turned around, and faced him.
Her hair was messy, scattered across her face, with a few strands sticking to the corners of her mouth; her face was flushed red, there were tears in her eyes, her lips were slightly parted, and her breathing was rapid.
"Th-thank you."
Su Bai watched her chest heaving beneath the light pink fabric, rhythmic and rapid.
Su Bai reached out and brushed away the strand of hair at the corner of her mouth; his fingers touched her lips, which were cool and soft.
Lin Qiaoyou's breathing paused for a beat.
She looked into his eyes, very close, so close that she could clearly see her own reflection in his pupils.
Su Bai's fingers moved away from her lips and tucked her hair behind her ears.
He did not withdraw his hand, but instead moved slowly down along her ear, past her earlobe, past her jawline, down her neck, and stopped at her collarbone.
His fingertips pressed against her skin, and he could feel her pulse racing, fast, like a little bird trapped in a cage.
"Sister Qiaoyou," he called her, his voice a little hoarse.
Lin Qiaoyou's eyelashes trembled.
"Hmm..."
"I remember, you still owe me one thing."
Su Bai looked at her,
"How about... we do it now."
Lin Qiaoyou was stunned for a moment.
Her heart beat even faster, so fast it felt like it was going to jump out of her chest.
"Do... do what?" Her voice was so quiet it was almost inaudible.
Su Bai looked at her, his voice hoarse,
"Sister Qiaoyou, help me."
"I'm feeling a bit uncomfortable right now."
Lin Qiaoyou's face flushed bright red.
She understood.
She lowered her head, staring at her toes.
"No... no..."
She wanted to say "No way," wanted to say "I'm not ready yet," wanted to say "We shouldn't do this."
But she opened her mouth, and not a single word came out.
She didn't know how to refuse him; from the first day she met him, she had never been able to refuse him.
Facing Su Bai, she couldn't refuse.
Su Bai watched her flushed ear tips and didn't rush her.
After a long while, Lin Qiaoyou nodded slightly.
That nod was very light, so light it was almost imperceptible, but Su Bai saw it.
His heart filled with joy, and he reached out his hand and grasped hers.
Lin Qiaoyou stood before him, head lowered, not daring to look at him.
Her fingers were still in his palm, cool and soft.
Su Bai stroked her hand and gave it a gentle tug.
Lin Qiaoyou lost her footing, took a step forward, and her knees bumped into his legs.
She took another step forward and stood between his legs.
She lowered her head, able to see the neckline of his T-shirt, the outline of his collarbone, and the movement of his Adam's apple.
...
Half an hour later, Su Bai turned her dazed face to look at him,
"Sister Qiaoyou, do you still remember how it felt just now while you were stuck in the washing machine?"
Lin Qiaoyou said groggily,
"I... I remember..."
"Then go back in."
Su Bai's voice was very soft, but every word was spoken very clearly.
"S... still like this?" Her voice was so quiet it was almost inaudible.
"Yeah."
Lin Qiaoyou bit her lip and did as he asked.
After a while, the sound of a key turning suddenly came from the door.
Lin Qiaoyou's eyes widened abruptly; she turned her head and looked at Su Bai in terror. Su Bai put his finger to his lips and made a "shh" gesture.
The door opened, the living room lights were turned on, and orange light leaked in through the door crack.
Song Qian's voice came through: "Su Bai? Are you home?"
Both of them stopped breathing.
Song Qian's footsteps walked from the living room to the kitchen, and from the kitchen to the hallway, getting closer and closer.
Lin Qiaoyou's heart beat so fast it felt like it was going to jump out of her chest; her knuckles turned white as she gripped the edge of the washing machine.
The footsteps stopped at the laundry room door.
Su Bai turned around to face the door.
His expression was very calm, and he mouthed the word "leave."
Song Qian looked at this scene, stunned for a moment, then immediately understood, nodded, and went back to her own room.
The laundry room went quiet.
Su Bai reached out and gently patted Lin Qiaoyou's back,
"It's okay now."
Lin Qiaoyou slowly straightened up from the washing machine and turned her head.
Her face was flushed bright red, there was moisture in her eyes, and her lips had a row of teeth marks from where she had bitten them.
"Will... will she have seen?" she asked in a low voice.
Su Bai remained calm,
"Of course not."
Lin Qiaoyou looked at him, not quite believing it, but she didn't ask again.
She buried her face back into his chest and rubbed against it like a spoiled cat.
"Su Bai."
Lin Qiaoyou spoke, her voice very soft and hoarse.
"Hmm."
"Promise me one thing."
"What?"
Lin Qiaoyou was silent for a moment,
"Don't tell them."
She paused, "No one."
Su Bai looked at her.
She closed her eyes, her eyelashes trembling.
"Okay, don't worry."
Lin Qiaoyou opened her eyes, turned her head, and looked at him.
There was moisture in her eyes, the light, and his reflection.
She looked at him for a few seconds, then buried her face back in, saying muffledly:
"Then you continue."
— —
In the evening, the door lock clicked.
Su Bai looked up from the sofa and saw Chu Yi rush in first, followed by Chu Xiang, and finally Luo Ying, dragging a suitcase, her face showing the fatigue of the journey, but her eyes were bright.
Luo Ying was the last one to enter, her gaze sweeping around the living room, locking onto Su Bai, and she said affectionately,
"Hello, Xiao Bai, long time no see."
Su Bai stood up and said enthusiastically,
"Sister Luo Ying, you finally decided to come back."
"It's not too late, is it? I even came early."
Luo Ying changed her shoes, walked into the living room, and put her bag on the sofa.
She sat down opposite Su Bai and looked at him with a smile,
"Xiao Bai, during the time I was away, have you been behaving?"
Su Bai remained calm,
"Of course not. I've been getting along very 'comfortably' with the other sisters."
Very comfortably?
Luo Ying looked at him, looking suspicious.
She felt like something was wrong, but she couldn't put her finger on it.
She looked at Su Bai for a few seconds, then averted her gaze, her eyes landing on Lin Qiaoyou in front.
Lin Qiaoyou was wearing a creamy white knitted dress, her hair was let down, and her gait was a bit strange.
She seemed to sense Luo Ying's gaze, her body tensed up slightly, and then she tried hard to squeeze out an awkward smile.
