121: Seeking medicine
A tall city wall was rising up along the southern edge of Red River Town.
In just a few days, the wall seemed to have grown as if fed growth hormones, rapidly extending.
After distributing the magic potions, Renn focused on constructing the territory's wall, the largest project currently in Red River Territory.
The wall Renn planned to build was over fifty meters high, over twenty meters wide, and over fifteen kilometers long, entirely composed of stone bricks.
This was an extremely massive undertaking.
Even with Renn's assistance, constructing this wall was extremely time and labor intensive.
Renn divided the wall construction into four work zones: east, south, west, and north. Currently, the main focus was on building the section facing south, while the remaining three directions were still in the preparation stage, laying foundations.
Around the current section of the wall, large amounts of earth had been transported and piled up in advance.
Renn used Mage Hand to shape this pre-prepared earth, erecting it at the wall's location, then directly petrified it with the Mud to Stone spell, completing a section of stone wall.
As a Silver Rank Mage, Renn could build dozens of meters of wall in a single day.
In addition, for the work of compacting the wall's foundation, Renn had Professionals from the Guard Army assist in completing it.
Compacting the foundation was no small task, but for Bronze Rank or even Silver Rank Warrior Class members, this work held no difficulty.
Renn had Ross and the others assist with construction daily, so the foundation compaction work wouldn't take long to complete.
With the assistance of Renn and the Guard Army, the wall's construction progress improved somewhat.
After consuming the magic potions, Ross, Wayne, and Alger all advanced one level, reaching Silver Mid-rank strength.
On the other side, after taking the potion, Cecilia broke through to Bronze Rank peak, just one step away from stepping into Silver Rank.
However, Cecilia was still young, with a bright future ahead, so there was no need to rush.
For Ross and the others, increasing their strength wasn't the main benefit of consuming the clansias blessing potion; the most important thing was that their innate talent and aptitude had improved a notch.
Among them, Wayne, Alger, Eric, and others showed the most obvious effects. Unlike Ross and Cecilia, who were originally geniuses, their original aptitude was only somewhat better than ordinary people's, but certainly not genius-level.
Now, having been enhanced somewhat, they could walk further on their future professional paths.
"Big Brother Renn, I'm here."
Cecilia walked over, staff in hand. After her breakthrough, her daily work consisted of concocting magic potions and teaching junior apprentices about spell knowledge.
These past few days, she would also occasionally come to help Renn build the wall.
Renn nodded, then continued his work.
The two joined forces, shaping large amounts of earth and then petrifying it, section after section of wall rapidly taking form.
Only when the mana within him was almost depleted did Renn end today's construction.
The surrounding construction team immediately took over the site, with many workers transporting large stone bricks to continue building the wall.
"Cecilia, how are those apprentices doing lately?"
Although Renn's Mage Academy currently only had 46 apprentices, Renn had high hopes for them.
"All the apprentices have completed their literacy studies and are now learning the Basic Meditation Method."
"Among them, Luke has already mastered the Basic Meditation Method and condensed a wisp of mana within his body, essentially becoming a Black Iron Rank Mage."
"The progress of the other apprentices is slower; currently, it seems they will need a few more months to successively begin mastering it."
Possessing mage aptitude indicated strong innate mental power and intelligence, so their learning efficiency was high, completing the literacy learning stage in just over a month.
However, progress in learning the Basic Meditation Method slowed down, which was understandable, and Renn wasn't surprised at all.
"That little fellow Luke truly has good aptitude; it seems he'll accomplish something in the future."
"What about those magic plant apprentices?"
Cecilia also had over a dozen apprentices under her learning magic plant knowledge, responsible for tending the Medicinal Herb Field.
"Their learning progress is much slower. Compared to those few dozen Mage Apprentices, their learning efficiency isn't high; they struggle to understand many of the things I explain."
"That's fine. Those children had no foundation to begin with. Let them learn what they can. Tending the herb field is an experiential discipline; after working in the field for a while, being able to assist Dora and you is enough."
The dozen or so children Renn selected for Cecilia couldn't even read before, and none of them had mage aptitude. Renn didn't expect a genius in cultivating magic plants to emerge from among them.
"Big Brother Renn, this is the Hero's Blood Potion I concocted yesterday; there are five bottles in total."
"With Dora tending the herb field, the magic plants inside are growing very well, and some low-level magic plants have even advanced one rank. The Spirit of Nature's ability is truly powerful."
"Some magic plants will mature in a few more months. Then, Grandpa and I can concoct a batch of potions."
Cecilia handed Renn five portions of Hero's Blood Potion while talking about the situation in the herb field.
"Our little Cecilia is truly amazing."
Renn smiled, putting away the potions, then asked:
"How is Master Capdo's progress with the Magic Array over there? Any issues?"
"Grandpa has no issues over there; the Magic Array setup is proceeding smoothly. I sometimes go to assist Grandpa, but I haven't studied arrayology much, so basically, Grandpa has to set it up alone."
"Grandpa says it should be completed in a few more days!"
"Good, no issues then!"
Renn extended his large hand and rubbed Cecilia's little head, just like Capdo usually did.
"You've worked hard, Cecilia, busy with this and that every day."
"It's fine, Big Brother Renn. Cecilia feels every day is very fulfilling."
"My strength is increasing quickly. It won't be long before I break through to Silver Rank. Then I can help Renn even more."
Cecilia enjoyed the warmth transmitted from the large hand on her head; a gentle power made her feel very comfortable, just like being with her grandfather.
It was a feeling only family could bring, and also the feeling Cecilia liked and was most captivated by.
"Good, our little Cecilia is the best."
When Renn returned to Red River Fortress with Cecilia, he saw Watt waiting for him at the entrance.
"Greetings, Lord!"
"Hello, Watt!"
On the other side, Cecilia smiled and greeted Watt before returning to her workshop to busy herself.
Renn led Watt to the reception hall. He still valued Watt highly; Watt would be one of the mainstays of Red River Territory's Forge Workshop in the future.
"So, what brings you to me, Watt?"
"Lord, I came to ask you to grant me a bottle of clansias blessing."
Watt directly knelt before Renn, stating the purpose of his visit.
These past few days, the Guard Army soldiers spread word of Renn granting magic potions, and many people in the territory knew about it.
As the potion users emerged one by one, the powerful effects of clansias blessing moved many. Living examples were right beside them, making more Guard Army soldiers strive with all their might to obtain a bottle of clansias blessing.
Watt also heard about this in the Forge Workshop. In the following days, he felt somewhat unsettled, lacking spirit in his daily forging work.
Even his companion, Holland, found it strange why Watt's condition was so poor these days.
He asked Watt, but Watt didn't tell Holland anything.
Finally, Holland told Watt that if he had any difficulties, he could seek a solution from the Lord.
After thinking it over for a night, Watt finally made up his mind and came to Red River Fortress to find Renn.
"You want clansias blessing?"
