73: Alien Movements
After the Kobolds took up the weapons Renn had prepared for them, they suddenly discovered that many Wasteland Wolves had silently appeared around them.
Looking at the surrounding Wolf Pack, many Kobolds trembled in fear, their grip on their weapons becoming unsteady.
"Master?"
Looking at the Wasteland Wolves beside him, Godo also felt a bit intimidated.
"Godo, I need you to conquer more tribes to serve me. Your strength is too weak; these Wasteland Wolves will assist you."
Kobolds were frail, generally only about 1.5 meters tall. They didn't even have a few scraps of cloth on them, let alone iron armor; an ordinary adult Wasteland Wolf could carry them.
A Wasteland Wolf plus a Kobold warrior formed the most basic version of a Wolf Knight.
At Renn's signal, the alpha of the Wasteland Wolf Pack approached Godo.
"You can have the warriors of your tribe ride these Wasteland Wolves; they will enhance your combat effectiveness."
"I will tell you what to do later!"
Looking at the fierce Wasteland Wolves, Godo nodded heavily.
Renn brought the Kobold tribe back to the southern region of the territory.
Ross continued to lead the Cavalry Squad to hunt down the Alien Tribes.
On the other hand, Renn gathered a large number of wolves and scattered them across the southern wilderness. When they encountered Kobold tribes, if their numbers were small, he would have the Wasteland Wolves lead the way and send Godo to subjugate them.
For those with larger numbers, Renn would have Ross lead a charge to cripple these Kobold tribes before letting Godo subjugate the scattered survivors.
Within a few days, Godo had gathered several hundred Kobolds.
"Master!"
Godo prostrated himself humbly on the ground to welcome Renn's arrival.
Behind him, over a hundred Kobolds and Wasteland Wolves also lay prostrate on the ground, not daring to make a sound.
"You've done well these past few days. It seems you're quite suited for this. I wasn't wrong about you, Godo!"
"Godo only acted according to your orders, Master. Everything is thanks to you!"
Renn ignored Godo's flattery and took two bottles of potions from his spatial ring.
He threw one bottle to the Wasteland Wolf beside Godo, which opened its large mouth and swallowed the potion Renn had tossed.
He threw the other bottle to Godo, who also swallowed the potion cleanly without a word.
One of the two potions was blood of the wild wolf, which had been recently brewed by Cecilia.
The magic wolf grass had matured a bit more after being continuously watered with blood, enough to prepare several bottles of blood of the wild wolf.
The other bottle was the heros blood potion that Cecilia had given to Renn earlier.
The Wasteland Wolf that swallowed the potion first began to react, twisting in pain on the ground as it endured the potion's power.
On the other side, Godo soon felt the pain brought by the potion as well. However, his heart was filled more with excitement and agitation, for he understood that this sensation came from the growth of power; he was about to become stronger again.
Soon, the Wasteland Wolf was the first to complete its evolution, advancing from an ordinary Wasteland Wolf into a Black Iron Rank Magic Wolf.
The Wasteland Wolf's size nearly doubled, and the fur on its body became much thicker.
On the other side, Godo's size also increased once more, reaching nearly 1.8 meters this time—an absolute behemoth among Kobolds.
"Not bad. You've broken through to the Bronze Rank. Godo, you are very talented!"
Godo prostrated himself on the ground again, excitedly expressing his loyalty to Renn.
"Everything Godo has belongs to the Master. Godo will always be loyal to his great Master!"
"Your strength is now sufficient to recruit more Kobolds. Once the number of Kobolds you've recruited exceeds one thousand, I will have a new mission for you."
"If you do well, I will have other rewards!"
"Yes, my Master!"
As Renn departed, Godo rose from the ground and began to feel the power within him that he had never felt before.
He mounted the Wasteland Wolf that had evolved into a magical beast, feeling as though these past few days had been a dream.
The power and status he hadn't even dared to imagine before were all his in just a few short days.
"Everything Godo has was given by the Master. As long as I complete the Master's missions, Godo can become even stronger."
With a determined look in his eyes, Godo led his Wolf Knights and disappeared into the wilderness.
Over the next half month, the Red River Territory Guard Army led by Renn steadily blocked the Alien Tribes invading from the north, and a large number of them were killed by Renn's team.
However, even more tribes began to gather in the border regions of the Red River Territory.
Under Renn's powerful strikes, these small tribes no longer dared to enter the Red River Territory alone and began to spontaneously converge.
At the border of the Red River Territory, a large camp abruptly appeared.
Kobolds, Gnolls, Goblins, Wild Goblins—all sorts of races gathered within the camp, and there were even traces of humans.
"Old man, all the Chieftains and tribal leaders have arrived. Speak, how shall we deal with those humans!"
The Gnoll Chieftain's gruff voice echoed within the grand tent, where dozens of alien leaders had gathered.
Sitting at the very front were four or five Silver Rank alien leaders, while the periphery was filled with small tribal chiefs of Bronze Rank strength.
Godo was currently sitting among these minor leaders, his eyes wide as he watched the events unfolding before him.
This was the grand tent of the Goblin Prophet. As an extremely rare class within Goblin tribes, a Goblin Prophet possessed wisdom far beyond that of ordinary Goblins and was also a powerful Spellcaster.
A Goblin Chieftain could only control one Goblin tribe, but a Goblin Prophet could control several.
Sitting in the very center of the tent was the Goblin Prophet. Its strength had reached the Silver Mid-rank, and it controlled several Goblin tribes, possessing forty to fifty thousand Goblins at its peak.
But now, after being struck several times by humans, the number of Goblins under its command had been more than halved, no longer reaching its former peak.
"The humans to the south are too powerful. Those human armored warriors are brave and invincible, and those human knights are even more unbeatable. We have no way to survive in the south."
"Only by going north can we seize enough food to survive the coming harsh winter."
The Gnome leader sitting on the other side of the front impatiently interrupted the Goblin Prophet.
"Enough, enough. There's no need to say all that; even a fool knows."
"That human knight to the south is as fierce as a demon. He cut down a Silver Mid-rank Ogre Chieftain in just a few strikes, and that Silver Initial Rank Chieftain of your Goblins couldn't even withstand a single sword blow."
"Going south is definitely out of the question; we can only go north."
"The problem is those human scumbags to the north are also formidable, and we can't break through. Don't give us all that nonsense; just tell us how to break through the human blockade and raid his territory for food."
The Gnoll Chieftain took over and said:
"If you ask me, we should all charge together. That human has few soldiers; as long as we charge together, they definitely won't be able to stop us."
"Of course we can charge together, but how? Will you Gnolls charge first?"
The Goblin Prophet was not angered by the interruption but instead asked a question in return.
"Although that human has few soldiers, it's as if he has clairvoyance. Those small tribes that scattered and headed north were all found and slaughtered as soon as they entered his territory."
"Haven't you seen the corpses along the way?"
"While I don't know how he discovers the movements of all the tribes, I am certain he will find us the moment we move."
"Therefore, I believe we should act in unison. We can no longer move separately as before. We must concentrate our forces; as long as we combine the strength of all our tribes, we will surely be able to crush that human."
The Gnoll was still impatient. If not for the Goblin Prophet being strong enough, he would have wanted to tell the other to get lost so he could lead all the tribes to slaughter the humans himself.
"Talk, talk, talk—after all that crap, it still comes down to everyone charging together!"
