162: Submission or Destruction
Outside the Sacred Mountain, the boundless plain was divided into three regions by three rivers, where the three great tribes lived.
The Wind Riding Tribe, the White Wolf Tribe, and the Eagle Tribe—these three great tribes thrived under the leadership of the Sacred Mountain.
At this moment, the three great tribes were also plunged into chaos, especially among their high-ranking members.
Ordinary people only knew that a major earthquake had occurred not long ago; they were unaware that the world they lived in was about to meet its end. However, the tribal leaders had learned through the Sacred Mountain that the world was nearing its demise.
"I personally went to the Sacred Mountain and met with the Elders. They have all confirmed it—our world is doomed. The Sacred Lord had already died during that major earthquake."
All the high-ranking members of the White Wolf Tribe stood despondently in the Chieftain's tent. This was the umpteenth time they had inquired, and each time the news they heard was equally cruel.
The once omnipotent Sacred Lord, who seemed like a deity in their eyes, was dead. The Sacred Lord who had ruled the Sacred Mountain and the three great tribes for centuries was dead. This news was shocking enough, but what followed was even more astonishing—their world was about to end.
For the past few days, they had been unable to believe this reality. Initially, the White Wolf Chieftain didn't believe it and made a special trip to the Sacred Mountain, only to witness the chaos there and the despair of the Elders.
The White Wolf Chieftain didn't know how he made it back; he only felt dizzy, his mind empty, and his body numb as he stumbled back to the tribe, bringing this despairing news to the tribal leaders.
"How... how is this possible?"
"It can't be!"
The leaders of the White Wolf Tribe were truly in despair now. Previously, they had hoped that something had gone wrong at the Sacred Mountain and that the message was mistaken, but now even that sliver of hope was gone.
"Chieftain, how much time do we have left?"
"The Elders said it could be as short as half a month or as long as a month."
"A month... that's too short, far too short."
Hearing the Chieftain's words, many people's eyes grew dimmer. Some were already preparing to make good use of their remaining time to accomplish certain things.
Others still refused to believe it and decided to go to the Sacred Mountain themselves to see. Normally, they had no right to go there, but now no one was stopping them, so it was a good opportunity to visit. Whether the news of the world's destruction was true or false, at least they could say they had been to the Sacred Mountain.
"Chieftain, I challenge you."
Just as the situation was becoming chaotic, a voice rang out across the gathering.
"Challenge me?"
The White Wolf Chieftain looked at the young man who had stepped forward, a hint of helplessness in his eyes. Even at a time like this, someone still wanted to challenge him.
According to the tradition of the White Wolf Tribe, only the strongest could become the Chieftain. Every Chieftain had fought countless battles to earn the position, and even after becoming Chieftain, they had to be ready to accept challenges at any time. Whoever could defeat the Chieftain would become the new Chieftain, but defeat meant paying with their life.
In the past, fear of death might have prevented anyone from rashly challenging the Chieftain, but now things were different.
"You're still far from ready. Don't come here to die."
The White Wolf Chieftain had little interest in this opponent; the gap between them was too vast. However, his opponent clearly thought otherwise and charged forward with a furious roar.
"Sigh!"
The White Wolf Chieftain didn't even draw the Battle Blade at his side. He simply clenched his fist and threw a punch, sending the young challenger flying. The challenger then crashed to the ground, his fate unknown.
"Chieftain, I also challenge you!"
"Me too!"
In an instant, over a dozen more people jumped out, wanting to challenge the White Wolf Chieftain. Looking at these challengers, the White Wolf Chieftain understood their intentions.
"You want to fight? Fine, I'll grant your wish!"
"The warriors of the White Wolf Tribe cannot die in humiliation. Only battle is our true end!"
With a furious roar, the White Wolf Chieftain drew his Battle Blade, ready to give these warriors a warrior's end. The massive blade swung down with terrifying force, leaving the warriors facing his blade powerless to resist.
A voice descended from the sky, interrupting the White Wolf Chieftain's action.
"Suicide is not a warrior's end!"
"Who are you?"
The White Wolf Chieftain stared in shock at the stranger who had suddenly appeared in the center of the gathering. He saw his full-power strike easily blocked by the other party, his Battle Blade unable to advance even an inch further in front of them.
"Roar!"
Reck let out a long howl, the violent wind elementals forcing the surrounding White Wolf Tribe leaders to retreat.
"Such a powerful white wolf?"
"How can there be such a powerful white wolf?"
"Who are you?"
"Why have we never seen you before?"
"Are you from the Sacred Mountain?"
The White Wolf Chieftain and his subordinates looked at Reyn Derrick and White Wolf Reck standing at the center, countless questions arising in their minds, while also being shocked by Reyn and Reck's strength.
"My name is Reyn Derrick, Master of the Wolf Packs, Lord of the Red River, Favored One of the Wilderness Spirits, and your Savior."
"I have come to this world specifically to save you!"
Reyn announced his titles while displaying his formidable strength. Beneath him, Reck cooperatively leaped into the air and stood aloft, a powerful aura radiating outward.
The people of the White Wolf Tribe were awestruck by Reyn, staring dumbfounded at him hovering in mid-air, exuding an aura of kingly dominance.
Not long ago, Reyn had found a small village, captured some locals, and learned that this Sub-plane was ruled by humans.
The entire Sub-plane was controlled by the Sacred Mountain and the three great tribes, and the place where Reyn appeared was within the territory of the White Wolf Tribe.
The White Wolf Tribe, with the white wolf as its tribal totem, mastered wolf-taming techniques and possessed secret arts to cultivate powerful white wolves as mounts. The White Wolf Knights of the White Wolf Tribe were renowned throughout the Sub-plane and formed the foundation of the tribe.
After learning about the White Wolf Tribe, Reyn became excited. This tribe truly had a connection with him. Reyn immediately decided to subdue this tribe.
Kapdo told Reyn that the strongest power in this Sub-plane was at most Early Legendary Rank, and now that the plane was on the verge of collapse, as the ruler of this world, even if the Legendary Expert here didn't die, they would be severely injured.
In other words, the highest combat power in this Sub-plane now was only Gold Rank, and given the scale of this Sub-plane, there wouldn't be many Gold Rank existences either.
With no Legendary Expert and few Gold Rank individuals, Reyn acted boldly. After identifying the core location of the White Wolf Tribe, he immediately led the Magic Wolf Knights and Kapdo there, striking directly at the heart.
"You're not from this world?"
The White Wolf Chieftain immediately grasped the key point in Reyn's words. In the past, he wouldn't have believed in the appearance of outsiders, but now he did.
The other White Wolf Tribe leaders around them also snapped back to reality, a glimmer of hope appearing in their eyes.
"Yes, I come from the Noah Continent, a powerful plane far surpassing your world. Now tell me, what is your choice?"
"Submit or perish?"
