216: Useful slime
Time entered the year 1240 of the golden calendar, mid-January.
After more than three months, through the joint efforts of several Gold Rank Archmages and over a hundred Spellcasters of various levels, the Crimson Glory Mage Tower was finally completed.
As Renn activated the mana pool to run all the Magic Arrays, crimson glory began to operate. The surrounding mana clearly began to condense toward the Mage Tower, and the Spellcasters inside could also feel the mana within their bodies becoming more active.
"If only there were a Tower Spirit. With a Tower Spirit's assistance, both the support and offensive capabilities of the Mage Tower would see a qualitative leap."
Watching the mana flow through crimson glory, Renn greedily wished for the enhancement of a Tower Spirit.
"Tower Spirits belong to the domain of Legendary Mage Towers. Currently, we don't have the materials or technology to create one, and even if we did, we wouldn't have the capability to manufacture it."
Master Capdo had seen the power of Tower Spirits; the core Mage Tower of the Holy White Academy and the Legendary Mage Towers within the City of Mages all possessed them.
"Don't worry, once I step into the Legendary rank, I will definitely create a Tower Spirit for crimson glory."
Alistair confidently gave Renn a guarantee; she was very certain of her future breakthrough to the Legendary rank.
"Although the Mage Tower is built, various magical equipment inside still needs to be gradually created and added, and those offensive and defensive Magic Arrays still need to be inscribed one by one."
"Everyone will have to work hard, especially you, Fiona!"
"Please rest assured, My Lord. I will definitely complete the layout of all the Magic Arrays as quickly as possible."
A complete Mage Tower not only needs support capabilities but also must integrate offense and defense. crimson glory currently only has support capabilities and lacks basic offensive and defensive means, which need to be refined over time.
As for the various auxiliary magical equipment, the Red River Territory has many high-level mages. Making them ourselves wouldn't take long to complete the setup, at which point the laboratories and workshops can begin operation.
"The first floor will serve as the reception hall, responsible for handling various Spellcaster affairs. The second floor will be the meditation rooms; since the number of Spellcasters in the territory is not yet large, every Spellcaster can be assigned a room."
"The third floor will be the Mage Academy for future teaching. The fourth floor is the potion making room, the fifth floor is the enchanting room, the sixth floor is the golem making room, and floors seven, eight, and nine will serve as cultivation rooms for mages of various elements."
"The tenth floor will be the spell exchange room, where everyone can exchange and learn spells in the future. The eleventh floor is the library, where all spell books and records will be kept."
"The twelfth floor is not open to the public; it is my exclusive cultivation space."
Renn planned out each floor; this had all been discussed in advance, and he was now announcing it.
Each floor of crimson glory covers several thousand square meters, providing extremely ample space—enough for all the mages currently in the Red River Territory.
Even if the number of Spellcasters increases in the future, the scale of the Mage Tower can be expanded by adding more floors.
As the Spellcasters moved in, crimson glory began to fulfill its purpose. In just a few days, Renn felt how powerful the auxiliary effects of a Mage Tower were for mages.
If nothing else, the efficiency of potion making and enchanted weapon crafting alone increased by twenty percent. This was while crimson glory was still incomplete; there would be more room for improvement as it was gradually finished.
A few days after the Mage Tower officially began operations, Master Capdo brought Renn another piece of good news.
The research into the effects of slimes by Master Capdo and several other high-level Spellcasters had yielded results.
Renn looked at the bottles of potions and several enchanted weapons, his eyes filled with excitement.
"So you're saying those slimes can not only be made into potions but also assist in forging transcendent weapons?"
"Yes, and not only that, they also have the effect of enhancing Magic Arrays."
Master Capdo explained it all to Renn.
"These Transcendent Slimes can be used to create different types of enhancement potions based on their attributes. By refining the slime's viscous body and combining it with the mana core inside, an enhancement potion can be formulated."
"With the addition of some auxiliary medicinal herbs, the effect of the enhancement potion on increasing strength is very obvious. However, because the slimes' level is not high, they are only suitable for Black Iron Rank and Bronze Rank."
"The effect is less noticeable for Silver Rank, and there is no effect at all for Gold Rank. The strongest of those Transcendent Slimes are only Silver Rank, and their numbers are too few."
"In addition to enhancement potions, they can also be made into recovery potions, and the results are very good."
Holland took over from Master Capdo and said, "My Lord, the extract made from these slimes can add attribute bonuses to transcendent weapons and also provide a certain boost to activating the mana within them. It is an excellent raw material."
"Master Capdo gave me these slimes to try out, and I didn't expect such great results."
Fiona, standing nearby, was equally excited; the materials produced from slimes also had an enhancing effect on her enchanting and Magic Array creation.
Master Capdo stroked his grey beard, very satisfied with the discovery of these new materials.
"I heard before that the territory of Grand Duke Blackwater has large swaths of marshland that also produce slimes. The Grand Duke Blackwater's Family controls the Transcendent Materials produced from slimes. I thought it would be difficult to manufacture such materials, but it turned out to be surprisingly simple."
"The key is the slimes themselves. As long as there are raw materials, the production technology for these Transcendent Materials centered around slimes is not difficult."
"Then it seems we've found a massive gold mine! That Slime Plane is a treasure trove."
Renn instantly raised the value of the Slime Plane by several levels.
"The fortress guarding the Slime Plane must be expanded, and the development of the Slime Plane must be intensified. Master Capdo, you all should quickly create magical equipment that makes it easier to catch Transcendent Slimes. In the future, that plane will be our slime breeding base."
"Yes, My Lord!"
Following Renn's command, the area near the Slime Plane Passage became busy, and a large fortress rose from the ground. Spellcasters set up large-scale Magic Arrays nearby.
Many Spellcasters from the Red River Territory also entered the Slime Plane to begin capturing the Transcendent Slimes within.
As large numbers of Transcendent Slimes were captured and brought back to the Crimson Glory Mage Tower, a vast quantity of potions was produced and put into the development of the Red River Territory's legions.
Renn also personally went to the Slime Plane to capture some a few times, thoroughly checking the slimes again, which actually led to a new discovery.
A Gold Slime King hidden deep in the muddy marsh was discovered by Renn.
Looking at the mountain-like Gold Slime King, Renn had originally intended to kill it.
However, after seeing the Gold Slime King's body continuously splitting into individual Transcendent Slimes, Renn abandoned that plan.
Slimes reproduce asexually; a mature slime can reproduce by self-splitting.
However, the offspring split from ordinary slimes are also very ordinary and have little value.
But the offspring split from the Gold Slime King were different; Renn saw that the small slimes it split into were all Black Iron Rank Transcendent Slimes.
In Renn's eyes, this Gold Slime King instantly became a gold mine that could produce indefinitely.
"Special slime individuals like this must be protected and cannot be killed at will!"
"The research value of this thing is very high. I didn't expect there to be a slime that could grow to the Gold Rank."
Seeing Renn's discovery, Master Capdo was very interested in the Gold Slime King and also highly approved of Renn's approach.
"Any special slimes discovered in the future must be protected; otherwise, no matter how many slimes there are here, they will soon be wiped out by reckless hunting."
Regarding the development of the Slime Plane, Renn set a set of regulations after returning, which were implemented after being refined by Master Capdo and the others.
The importance of the Slime Plane to Renn was far greater than that of the Green Grass Plane. This plane was now designated by Renn as one of his foundational assets; sustainable development was the top priority.
While Renn continued to study the uses of slimes and refine the development of the Slime Plane, the spring of 1240 quietly arrived.
