186: Development and Cleanup

"Legion Commander, the location of that Goblin tribe has been scouted. It's at the foot of the mountain ahead, and there are about two to three thousand Goblins in the tribe."

Montoya was clad in newly forged White Wolf Heavy Armor. Exquisite White Wolf patterns were etched onto the thick armor, and with the addition of Transcendent Material, the White Wolf Heavy Armor was even more indestructible than it appeared.

Around Montoya, more than a dozen White Wolf Knights also wore new White Wolf Heavy Armor, though their armor was not as luxurious as the set Montoya wore.

The Frostfang Legion, one of the three Titled Legions of the Red River Territory, now had Montoya as its Legion Commander.

The former White Wolf Tribe was a thing of the past. In the Red River Territory, there was no White Wolf Tribe; only villages and towns. The White Wolf Tribe's people were scattered among these villages and towns, becoming vassals of the Red River Territory.

With the White Wolf Tribe gone, Montoya was no longer the White Wolf Chieftain.

However, Montoya felt little sadness. Compared to other tribes that had suffered heavy losses, he had protected the safety of his people, and their current well-being was enough.

He also had a brand new future as the Legion Commander of the Frostfang Legion. From now on, he would lead the powerful White Wolf Knights in exhilarating battles.

He now felt that his new life was much more fulfilling than before. Without so many bothersome trivialities, he only needed to continuously improve his own strength and that of his warriors, and crush every enemy.

Montoya was working with great enthusiasm; he even noticed that his strength, which had not improved for a long time, had recently seen significant gains.

"Get the brothers moving. Crush all those disgusting monsters, leave none alive."

"Yes, Legion Commander!"

More than three hundred White Wolf Knights followed Montoya towards their target. Not all White Wolf Knights wore White Wolf Heavy Armor; most still wore ordinary armor, but they all knew it wouldn't be long before they, too, could wear White Wolf Heavy Armor.

The Frostfang Legion currently had the largest number among the three Titled Legions because the power of the White Wolf Tribe was largely preserved, so White Wolf mounts and warriors were readily available.

The more than three hundred White Wolf Knights were what remained after eliminating some unqualified knights. If chosen according to Montoya's standards, the Frostfang Legion could have at least five hundred White Wolf Knights.

Rehn provided them with magical beast meat and some magic potions to enhance their strength, and also taught them the White Wolf Secret Technique, which was once only practiced by core members of the White Wolf Tribe, so that every White Wolf Knight could cultivate it.

Under Rehn's training, these White Wolf Knights, who already had a good foundation, all reached Bronze Rank, and more than a dozen broke through to Silver Rank.

Bronze Rank was considered the minimum standard for a Titled Legion warrior set by Rehn.

What Rehn considered the minimum standard, Montoya viewed as the most elite warriors. Leading these three hundred White Wolf Knights made him feel more exhilarated than leading an army of tens of thousands in the past.

Although they were heavy armored knights, the White Wolf Knights were not slow; on the contrary, they were very fast. In just a moment, they arrived near the Goblin tribe.

"Charge, crush them!"

Without any pause, Montoya led the White Wolf Knights in a charge. The Goblin tribe's crude encampment was utterly useless against Montoya.

His specially made crimson slasher swung down heavily, and the fierce battle qi shattered the wooden wall blocking their path. Numerous Goblins were annihilated by the battle qi's impact.

"Kill, leave none alive!"

The White Wolf Knights wielded their crimson slashers, quickly eliminating the Goblins before them. The more than three thousand Goblins were all slain within fifteen minutes, not a single one escaped.

After leveling the entire Goblin tribe, Montoya still felt a bit unsatisfied.

"Go ask the Flying Eagle Messenger if there are any other Alien Tribes nearby that need to be cleared. This trash isn't even enough for a warm-up."

"Yes, Legion Commander!"

Montoya's mission was to clear out the Alien Tribes that had migrated from the Black Mountain Range.

The number of Alien Tribes within the Red River Valley was scarce due to several major wars, but as time passed, Alien Tribes from other areas began migrating towards the Red River Valley.

Recently, migrating Alien Tribes frequently appeared in the border regions of the Red River Valley. In the past, Rehn wouldn't have had the strength to clear them out, so he would have simply let it be.

Now Rehn had tens of thousands of troops. How could he allow these Alien Tribes to encroach on his territory? The Four Great Legions, the Three Titled Legions, and even some Guard Teams were dispatched by Rehn to continuously clear out these Alien Tribes.

Alien Tribes were generally not strong, and fighting them also served the purpose of training troops. Newly recruited warriors would quickly adapt to the battlefield environment after a few skirmishes with these Alien Tribes.

With Flying Eagles observing from the sky and Wolf Packs tracking on the ground, none of these migrating Alien Tribes could escape the encirclement of the Red River Territory's army, which also ensured that every inch of land in the entire Red River Territory was firmly under Rehn's control.

In its heyday, the Red River Valley once had fewer than 400,000 people. Now, the population of the Red River Valley has exceeded 700,000, and vast amounts of land have been developed by the increased population.

Villages and towns continuously expanded outwards from the vicinity of the Red River. Large areas of land in the wilderness were opened up, villages were established one by one, and lush green farmland replaced the once dense wild grasses.

In the most fertile areas, ranches were established one by one, and large numbers of livestock thrived in the pastures.

Rehn had previously obtained excellent livestock breeds such as Long-tailed Pigs and Tricolor Chickens from the Sub-plane.

These livestock breeds, cultivated by the Sub-plane natives for countless years, were extremely mature and far superior to the livestock Rehn had raised before.

With excellent breeds and plenty of available manpower, numerous farms were naturally built quickly.

The Red River Territory had always lacked a stable source of meat. These farms and ranches would be stable sources of meat production in the future.

In addition to farms, Rehn's previously planned fish ponds and lake fish farming projects also began.

Whether building breeding farms, reclaiming land, or establishing new settlements, a stable environment was required.

At this time, clearing out these Alien Tribes became particularly important, so Rehn spared no effort, even the Shadow Guards cooperated with the clearing operation.

Montoya quickly received the location of the new target, and the Frostfang Legion set off again, embarking on the path to clear the next objective.

Such clearing operations occurred frequently at the four borders of the Red River Valley.

As the ruler of the Red River Territory, Rehn did not participate. He was currently on his way to Magic Wolf Peak with the Golden Magic Wolf, Trump.

After Wolfs Nest came under the jurisdiction of the Shadow Guards, Rehn thought it over and decided that placing Trump in Wolfs Nest to lead the Wolf Pack was overkill. He then recalled Trump, who was out.

Not long after Trump returned to Red River Fortress, Rehn took him to Magic Wolf Peak to meet Anatolis.

Rehn now needed a trustworthy backer, and there was no one more suitable than Anatolis.
