79: Where does your value lie?
"Speak quickly, or I'll kill all of you lowly Kobolds!"
Four Hands took two steps forward, the short spear in his hand ready to be hurled again.
At that moment, Four Hands suddenly felt a chill down his back. A strong sense of crisis made him hurriedly roll to the side.
With a bang, a steel long arrow nailed itself into the spot where Four Hands had just been standing, blasting a fist-sized deep hole into the ground.
"Who are you going to kill?"
A voice drifted into Four Hands' ears.
"This presence... it couldn't be that person, could it?"
Feeling that familiar surge of power not far away, Four Hands had a bad premonition in his heart.
A majestic white wolf appeared in the sight of Four Hands and Godo.
Seeing the white wolf, Godo shed tears of excitement and knelt on the ground, kowtowing in the direction of the white wolf.
On the other side, Four Hands turned to run as soon as he saw the white wolf; he was all too familiar with that figure.
"It really is him. Why is he here?"
"Damn it, I should have thought of it sooner. How could Kobolds possibly control Magic Wolves? These Magic Wolves belong to that person, and these Kobolds are his people too."
Seeing the silhouette of the white wolf, Four Hands instantly understood why those Kobolds could command Wasteland Wolves.
"Retreat!"
Four Hands gave the order for his subordinates to run as he fled, but he didn't notice that his subordinates were all standing frozen in place.
He himself stopped after running a few steps because Renn had already blocked his path while riding a Magic Wolf.
A dozen Magic Wolf Knights had cornered all of Four Hands' subordinates where they stood.
Just moments ago, Four Hands' group of over a hundred had surrounded more than a thousand Kobolds; now, Renn led a dozen Magic Wolf Knights to surround Four Hands' hundred-plus men.
The situation was bizarre; the largest outer encirclement was actually the smallest team.
"Great Lord of Magic Wolves, Master of Flames, my omnipotent Master, your humble Slave Godo welcomes your arrival."
Godo knelt on the ground, weeping as he spoke. He had truly thought he was going to be killed by Four Hands just now.
"Great Master, you are truly all-knowing. Your humble Slave had just encountered a life-threatening danger when you descended to rescue us."
"This four-armed monster wanted to seize your Magic Wolves and slaughter your Slaves!"
Four Hands hurriedly explained:
"No, no, no, Lord, I didn't know these Kobolds were your Slaves, otherwise I wouldn't have troubled them."
Although Four Hands was also at the Silver Rank, he didn't have the slightest courage to fight in the face of Renn.
He had seen with his own eyes how Renn had single-handedly broken through the obstruction of several Silver Rank tribal leaders, casually killed a Silver Rank Goblin Chief, and then charged into the Goblin army to forcefully kill the Silver Mid-rank Goblin Prophet.
With his strength, Four Hands estimated he might not even be able to block a single move from the opponent.
Renn glanced at the three Kobold corpses lying behind Godo and casually took out an Enchanted Longbow.
Raising his hand, he fired three consecutive arrows in an instant, sending three men he found eyesores flying back.
Four Hands watched helplessly as three of his subordinates were shot dead by Renn. He didn't dare move an inch; he could feel he had been locked onto. The moment he moved recklessly, he would be the one shot dead.
"My Slaves are not for any random nobody to kill."
Renn put away his longbow and walked up to Four Hands, looking at this deformed freak.
"He really does have four arms. Interesting."
"What is your name?"
"Respected Lord, long ago when I was still a normal person, my name was Colt. Now, everyone calls me Four Hands."
Four Hands felt the powerful aura emanating from Renn and struggled to keep himself from being suppressed by it.
"Colt, tell me how you ended up like this?"
Renn was very interested in Colt's four-armed mutation.
"Lord, I once encountered a Witch. After drinking a bottle of potion she gave me, I became like this."
"A Witch?"
"What kind of Witch? Can she still be found now?"
"I'm sorry, Lord. After giving me that potion, the Witch disappeared. I don't know where she went either."
"Fine then!"
Renn was somewhat disappointed, but he didn't care too much about it.
He had come here for other business and happened to run into Colt interrogating Godo.
Looking at Colt, Renn felt that his subsequent plans could perhaps be optimized.
Colt led a team of over a hundred people. More than half were Black Iron Rank Professionals, and there were two Bronze Rank Professionals. The rest looked like elite warriors as well.
Including Colt, a Silver Rank warrior, the group he led possessed decent combat power. If they could be used by Renn, certain things would be much easier to handle.
"Colt, you killed three of my Slaves, and I killed three of your subordinates, so we're even. But you previously invaded my territory with those alien races. How should we settle that account?"
Renn stroked Reck's white, smooth fur, his tone flat.
Colt and his subordinates, however, were not at all calm in their hearts.
Most of them were composed of criminals and deserters who had ended up surviving in the wilderness. None were pushovers. Normally, they would have charged forward to fight long ago; they wouldn't be this well-behaved.
But now, none of them dared to move recklessly, nor did they dare to say a word.
Each of the dozen or so Magic Wolf Knights was a Bronze Knight, and they were currently staring at them intently.
This gang of thugs under Colt had just escaped from the heat of the towering sea of fire. They didn't expect to run into the culprit who had burned tens of thousands of troops to ashes in the blink of an eye.
"Lord, this is a misunderstanding, a complete misunderstanding. I can compensate you."
"Compensate?"
"What do you intend to use to trade for your lives?"
Feeling Renn's killing intent, Colt swallowed hard and turned to roar at one of his subordinates:
"Walt, you brat, get over here! Bring those things of yours."
Colt called over a sturdy young man. Unlike the others, this young man's horse was loaded with all sorts of messy tools.
Colt brought Walt before Renn.
"Lord, Walt comes from a top Blacksmith family and has studied blacksmithing since childhood. He is an excellent Blacksmith. All the weapons in our team were forged and maintained by him."
"You are a noble aristocrat; you must need such a talent."
Colt sycophantically promoted his subordinate.
"A Blacksmith?"
"You can forge weapons?"
Walt was a bit nervous, his voice trembling as he answered Renn.
"I can, Lord!"
"Very well. You will forge weapons for me in the future to buy back your life."
"He has the value to buy back his life. What about the rest of you?"
Colt had been quite happy to see Renn valuing Walt, but when Renn turned around and asked this, Colt was stunned.
"Lord, you?"
Renn said seriously to Colt:
"I must remind you that your lives and everything you have on you already belong to me. Don't try to trade things that are already mine back to me."
"That kid has skills that can create value in the future, so he can live."
"What about you?"
Renn looked at Colt.
"What is your value?"
