192: The movements of the Law Knights

"Your Highness, the demons near Rage Bear City have been completely defeated, and the followers of the Demon God in the city have been cleared out; it is time for us to leave!"

Inside the Thunder Hall, Ordinance Knight Commander Titus explained his intention to leave to the Grand Duke of the Raging Bear.

The other grizzly bear fief nobles in the hall were somewhat unhappy upon hearing that the Ordinance Knights wanted to leave.

Lately, the Ordinance Knights' constant strikes had resolved significant troubles for them; if they left now, the nobles would have to pay a higher price to deal with potential hidden threats.

Evans glanced secretly at the silent Grand Duke in the high seat and then stepped forward to speak:

"Lord Titus, there may still be remnants of the Demon God Cult in Rage Bear City. Could you and the Ordinance Knights stay a few more days to purify these evil cultists?"

"Earl Evans, the Demon God Cult in Rage Bear City has been mostly eliminated, and the rest are no longer a threat. The Ordinance Knights have their own mission; those spatial rifts pose a greater threat and must be sealed."

"We have prepared for our departure and will set out shortly."

Titus was not polite in his speech; he wasn't there to negotiate. The Ordinance Knights only listened to His Majesty the Golden King, and the Grand Dukes of the Four Borders had no authority over them.

Karl spoke up at this moment, "Commander, where do you plan to go to carry out your mission?"

"Your Highness, we plan to head north to the southern region of Blackstone Territory to seal the spatial rift there."

Karl shook his head, dismissing Titus's idea.

"If you're heading north to Blackstone Territory, then you needn't bother."

"Last night, I received a victory report from Viscount Raine of the Red River Territory. Five days ago, Viscount Raine led his Magic Wolf Knights to defeat the Demon Legion that intended to invade the Red River Territory from the north."

"Subsequently, Viscount Raine pursued the fleeing enemies south, eliminated the demons near the spatial rift in southern Blackstone Territory, and successfully sealed it."

"The demons in Blackstone Territory have been cleared out by Viscount Raine, and the spatial rift has been sealed. Therefore, Commander, there is nothing for you to do there now."

Karl casually mentioned the victory report sent by Raine, the contents of which left the nobles in the Thunder Hall extremely shocked.

Titus was also somewhat surprised and asked, "Does a viscount possess such strength?"

"Your Highness, although that spatial rift was only a small one, it has been left unchecked for many days. The number of demons transported through it would not be small."

"Furthermore, according to reports from Eagle Eye, a large remnant of the Demon Legion headed north and merged with the demons near that spatial rift. Among them were three Gold-rank Great Demons alone, and the legion numbered over two thousand."

"I do not believe a viscount's territory has the strength to defeat a Demon Legion of such scale. What are Viscount Raine's intentions in sending such information?"

Titus simply did not believe that a viscount's territory in the North could have the power to destroy a Demon Legion led by three Gold-rank Great Demons.

The other grizzly bear fief nobles in the Thunder Hall were equally skeptical.

"Three Gold-rank Great Demons—even an earldom wouldn't be able to stop that, would it?"

"An earldom with shallow foundations might indeed not be able to stop them!"

"Red River Territory... that's the one in the Red River Valley, right? At the foot of the Black Mountain Range, with harsh conditions. Several baronial families have already perished there. Does this newly-promoted viscount really have such strength?"

The dozen or so nobles in the Thunder Hall were buzzing with discussion, none of them believing that the Red River Territory had the strength to eliminate a Demon Legion.

"Bring the items in."

Karl said no more and ordered the attendants nearby to bring in several iron chests.

"Open them all!"

With several clicks, the iron chests were opened, and the contents startled all the nobles.

Rows of neatly arranged demon heads still emitted a faint, unique aura of chaos.

Titus approached an iron chest and saw a massive, hideous head inside. Judging by the aura, he determined it was the head of a Gold-rank Great Demon.

And there were two more chests like it nearby, each containing a demon head.

"Three heads of Gold-rank Great Demons and thirty-seven heads of Silver Rank demons. These are the spoils brought by Viscount Raine."

"Commander, any issues?"

Titus inspected the three Gold-rank Great Demon heads; they were all genuine.

"No issues. The heads are still fresh; they were all killed in the last few days!"

"I didn't expect a viscount from the Rage Bear Territory to have such strength. It's truly incredible!"

A trace of a smile finally appeared on Karl's expressionless face.

"The Red River Territory is an exception."

"The Potion Master Kapdo Ilix from the Holy White Academy in the kingdom's southern border traveled to the North and is currently living in the Red River Territory."

"And Viscount Raine was already the strongest of the new generation in the Rage Bear Territory. With Master Kapdo's help, he broke through to the Gold Rank not long ago."

"In addition, Viscount Raine's family is guarded by a Gold Rank magic wolf. Black Nightmare Anatolis was quite famous in the Rage Bear Territory over a hundred years ago."

Karl's explanation made the other nobles of the Rage Bear Territory suddenly recall the unique aspects of the Red River Territory, and they all came to a realization.

"Kapdo Ilix?"

"That Cursed One?"

"Yes!"

Hearing this name, Titus's brow furrowed. He knew this man and understood Kapdo's past; because of that, he had a very poor impression of him.

"That Cursed One isn't dead yet?"

"He really knows how to stay alive."

"According to your words, Your Highness, then this viscount really does have the strength to kill these three Gold-rank Great Demons. After all, that Cursed One's strength is indeed not weak."

Titus had personally met Kapdo when he traveled to the Golden City and had some understanding of his strength. At that time, Kapdo's demonstrated power was significantly stronger than that of ordinary Gold-rank Professionals.

"Since the spatial rift in the north has been sealed, I will go to the west to seal the rift there!"

Titus didn't want to linger; he only wanted to set out as soon as possible to seal the spatial rifts.

"Of course. Please suit yourself, Commander!"

Karl did not stop Titus. Under normal circumstances, he would not accept aid from the Ordinance Knights; the Rage Bear Territory had its own rules and its own strength to handle problems.

But now he had to make concessions. Karl hadn't expected a large spatial rift to suddenly appear near Rage Bear City, catching him off guard.

Karl led the main legion back to defend Rage Bear City, leaving only Earl Porcupine to guard the Plane Passage recently captured in the eastern border region.

Originally, he had wanted Belmont to stay behind and oversee things, but after some thought, he decided against it.

After Titus left, Karl mobilized the noble armies near Rage Bear City to conduct continuous mopping-up operations against the demon remnants and Demon God followers, putting all the nobles on high alert.

After the meeting in the Thunder Hall ended, the name of the Red River Territory began to spread within Rage Bear City. After all, the strength to kill three Gold-rank Great Demons was impressive enough.

Even without those two powerful assistants who might not be around for long, Raine's strength alone was enough for these nobles to take him seriously.

However, the Red River Territory's disadvantageous location, surrounded by the Black Mountain Range, meant these nobles only discussed Raine for a bit without taking any actual action.

Everyone felt that the Red River Territory was only supported by the personal strength of Raine and his two powerful assistants; the territory itself was not worth paying attention to.

More envious individuals claimed that the Red River Territory couldn't possibly withstand the infiltration and harassment from the alien races of the Black Mountain Range, and it wouldn't be long before Raine abandoned the territory due to exhaustion.

Inside the Grand Duke of the Raging Bear's study, Karl sat down with a weary face and motioned for Belmont to sit beside him.

"Father, what are your orders?"

Being left alone, Belmont knew his father must have something to say.

"How much do you know about Raine?"

Karl suddenly asked a question, causing Belmont to pause.

"Raine?"

"Viscount Raine?"
