211: Construction of the Dharma Master's Tower
After Renn and the others carefully considered and measured, the site for the Mage Tower was chosen in an area north of the Magical Plant Garden on the east side of Red River Fortress.
The most suitable location for building a Mage Tower is on a naturally formed mana node or in a mana-rich area.
However, naturally formed mana nodes are either rare and hard to find, or located in special landforms like volcanoes or sea vents, which were not suitable for Renn.
If choosing based on mana density, Red River Territory had no special mana-rich zones, so the available choices were the areas near Red River City.
"The distance here is moderate; even if Red River City continues to expand in the future, it won't have much of an impact."
Renn was very satisfied with this location. Red River City was constantly expanding, and this spot already took future urban planning into account.
"There are enough materials salvaged from the Holy Lords Palace to build a nine-story Mage Tower without any issues."
Kapdo's idea was to build a nine-story Mage Tower, which is the standard model chosen by most high-level mages.
"Nine stories is too low; it's only suitable for a Gold Rank mage. In the future, a Legendary Mage will surely be born in Red River Territory, so we must lay a good foundation this time. Besides, materials are plentiful."
A nine-story Mage Tower was too small-minded; Renn was not satisfied with this plan.
"I plan to build twelve stories first, but the key is to lay a solid foundation, at least to ensure that it can be increased to over eighteen stories in the future."
Building a twelve-story Mage Tower was not difficult for Renn now. He had no shortage of materials, and in terms of manpower, there were four Gold Rank Spellcasters alone, along with many other mages; the workforce was definitely sufficient.
However, to ensure a good foundation for the future, this twelve-story Mage Tower would be completely different from an ordinary one. It would require more resources and the construction would be more complex.
"That would naturally be even better. I completely agree!"
As a mage, who wouldn't want their Mage Tower to be of a higher level? Since Renn was willing to invest more, Kapdo and the others all raised both hands in approval.
Kapdo was naturally very familiar with the structure of a Mage Tower, as he had built one himself before. He also frequently visited the high-level Mage Towers in the Holy White Academy and the City of Mages, so he knew their structures inside out.
The construction plan was quickly drawn up. Renn, Alistair, Cecilia, and the others discussed it for half a day. After making some personalized tweaks to certain areas, they finalized the construction plan.
With the construction site and plan determined, the project began immediately. A large amount of Transcendent Material was poured into the construction of the Mage Tower.
Renn, Kapdo, and Dora were the main forces of the construction. Cecilia was busy improving her strength and refining potions, so she didn't have much time to participate, but Alistair had plenty of time and often came to help.
There were also five Silver Rank Spellcasters and over a dozen Bronze Rank Spellcasters assisting Renn and Kapdo.
These Spellcasters were mostly from the Sub-plane and had good foundational strength. After coming to Red River Territory, they had access to better resources and the larger platform of the Main Plane, so their strength improved rapidly, and they could already play a significant supporting role.
As soon as the project began, Renn and the others jointly cast spells to dig a massive pit in the surrounding area of tens of thousands of square meters. A large amount of soil at the bottom of the pit was petrified, laying a solid foundation.
The effect of several Gold Rank Archmages casting spells together was terrifyingly powerful. Even so, the foundation work lasted several days, and the joint casting was performed multiple times to complete the lowest layer of the foundation. It was evident that Renn had spared no expense to lay a solid foundation.
Petrifying the foundation was only the most basic work. Afterward, a large amount of Transcendent Material needed to be invested to engrave magic runes and mana circuits, forming artificial mana nodes to constitute complete mana circuits.
The workload for this part was massive and required a great deal of energy.
Fortunately, Renn had Fiona under his command, a mage who specialized in Magic Arrays and enchanting. She was extremely skilled at engraving these mana circuits.
Fiona's strength had also increased by a level, reaching Silver Mid-rank.
During her time in Red River Territory, she and her brother Prague had been doing well. They were highly valued and prioritized for cultivation by Renn, so their strength improved quickly.
Fiona also had several apprentices under her. Her leading these apprentices to join the construction of the Mage Tower significantly accelerated Renn's construction progress.
On the other side, Dora also modified the surrounding mana environment for the Mage Tower. Using her innate talent, Dora optimized and strengthened the leyline environment around the Mage Tower, and the surrounding mana concentration was increased to a certain extent.
The construction of the Mage Tower was in full swing. Renn now spent most of his time buried in work at the Mage Tower, except for a small amount of time spent handling other affairs.
Renn also gave the last two bottles of Gold Rank clancias blessing to Cecilia and Wayne.
Cecilia now had one bottle of clancias blessing and one bottle of clansias blessing in her hands. With the help of these two top-tier potions, Renn believed she would surely be able to smoothly break through to the Gold Rank.
Wayne and Alger, who had been following him all along, had also improved their strength to the peak of the Silver Rank and were qualified to attempt a breakthrough to the Gold Rank.
Among them, Wayne was older and his talent and aptitude were slightly inferior to Alger's. Between the two, Alger naturally had higher cultivation value, so Renn decided to give the blessing potion to Wayne to help him break through to the Gold Rank.
Instead, he gave a portion of the gift potion to Alger. This would not only help Alger break through to the Gold Rank but also significantly enhance his aptitude, allowing him to go further in the future.
Of the remaining five bottles of gift potions, Renn gave Holland and Walt one fire-attribute potion each, Ross and Chris one earth-attribute potion each, and Eric one wind-attribute potion.
The importance of Holland and Walt went without saying. Both were involved in the construction of the Mage Tower this time, as some Transcendent Materials brought back from the Holy Lords Palace needed to be refelted and reforged to meet the construction requirements of the Mage Tower.
Two portions of fire-attribute gift potions were enough to raise Holland and Walt's strength by a level. With their potential greatly increased, they would also be able to break through to the Gold Rank faster.
The improvement in their fire-attribute talent would also allow their forging techniques to advance further.
Ross needs no further explanation. As Renn's most capable assistant, if Renn has a bite to eat, Ross gets half.
As someone whose talent was second only to Renn's, Renn estimated that this earth-attribute gift potion would not improve Ross too significantly, but it would definitely be useful. As long as it was useful, Renn would not be stingy with Ross.
Ross had been working hard on the construction of the territory's army during this time. Under his training, thirty thousand new recruits had completed their basic training and were assigned to new legions.
The construction of the six ordinary legions and the three titled legions was rapidly being refined and strengthened. A large number of talented and capable individuals were selected by Ross for focused cultivation.
Additionally, another ten thousand new recruits had entered the boot camp. Renn's military expansion had still not ceased, although the scale was much smaller.
Although Ross had not fought in external wars to achieve any dazzling military exploits for Renn, Renn did not overlook his contributions at all. Ross had made a great contribution to the rapid completion of the Red River Territory's army expansion.
Training recruits, building legions, and cultivating talent—Ross was doing better and better, saving Renn a lot of worry.
Finally, Eric and Chris were the most talented among the first batch of warriors to follow Renn, besides Ross. Both were very young and were Renn's key cultivation targets.
With the wind-attribute gift potion given to Eric, Renn estimated that this kid would likely break through to the Gold Rank within half a year.
As for Chris, he was the youngest, and his strength had only just broken through to the Silver Mid-rank a few days ago. Even with the help of the gift potion, it would still take some time for him to break through to the Gold Rank.
Renn still had too few gift potions. People like Grayson and Dean had not yet received gift potions to improve their potential and strength, and they were also Renn's trusted lieutenants.
However, there were only so many gift potions, and Renn had no choice but to put them at the back of the line and wait for the next batch.
The Mage Tower was rapidly taking shape, and the Red River Territory was likewise rapidly becoming stronger.
