164: Letter from the Holy Mountain
"Is this the White Wolf's Nest?"
Looking at the lair structure before him, its design was completely different from that of farmsteads and swordsman lairs. Its appearance more closely resembled a natural stone cave, though the cave was covered in a layer of frost.
"This lair structure is still a high-quality imitation, much stronger than the lair cores you currently hold."
After inspecting the White Wolf's Nest, Kapdo smiled and said to Renn, "This lair has no quantity limit. As long as you have sufficient resources, you can continuously summon White Wolves to fight."
"Oh?"
"That's fantastic!"
No quantity limit meant Renn would never lack Bronze Rank magic wolf mounts in the future.
As for resources, he currently possessed quite a few Bronze Rank magic cores and a large amount of flesh and blood. He had accumulated plenty of resources for summoning Bronze Rank lair creatures.
"There's no limit on quantity, but the intelligence of these magical beast lair creatures is certainly inferior to that of humanoid lair creatures."
Kapdo had observed several White Wolves earlier and had gained a general understanding of these lair creatures.
"No matter. They're meant to be mounts anyway. They don't need high intelligence; combat prowess is enough. I see those White Wolves have considerable combat strength—not just ordinary low Bronze Rank, probably high Bronze Rank strength."
"Pretty much!" Kapdo nodded.
Renn dismantled this White Wolf's Nest, retrieved the lair core, and planned to redeploy it after returning to Red River Fortress.
Besides the White Wolf core, Renn also obtained the legacy of the White Wolf Tribe: the White Wolf Secret Technique, a Gold Rank Breathing Technique.
From the White Wolf Tribe's possessions, Renn only took the White Wolf core and the White Wolf Secret Technique. He didn't touch the other items, as they originally belonged to Montoya and the others. Now that these people were his allies, Renn didn't feel right taking everything.
Among the White Wolf Tribe's resources, only the White Wolf core and the White Wolf Secret Technique held the highest value. The remaining items didn't interest Renn.
After skimming through the White Wolf Secret Technique, Renn became very intrigued. He had a premonition that once he mastered the White Wolf Secret Technique and integrated it with the Wild Wolf Breathing Technique he had learned, he would gain unexpected benefits.
While everyone in the White Wolf Tribe hurriedly packed their belongings, a messenger from the Sacred Mountain arrived.
"Where is Chieftain Montoya? I bring orders from the Sacred Mountain!"
"Where is Chieftain Montoya? I bring orders from the Grand Elder of the Sacred Mountain!"
The messenger, who had traveled non-stop, gasped for breath as he loudly searched for Montoya.
Seeing the chaotic state of the White Wolf Tribe, the messenger assumed they were in turmoil due to the impending destruction of the world and loudly tried to reassure the tribe's members.
"The Grand Elder has found a way to leave this world. Everyone will be saved. There's no need to panic. Take me to your Chieftain Montoya."
The messenger shouted loudly. The surrounding White Wolf Tribe members were startled upon seeing the Sacred Mountain's messenger. In ordinary times, these messengers were absolute VIPs in their eyes and rarely seen.
As for the salvation method mentioned by the messenger, it made these White Wolf tribesmen hesitate. After all, the Sacred Mountain, which had ruled the White Wolf Tribe for centuries, held immense authority in their eyes.
"The Grand Elder found a way to leave?"
Montoya looked curiously at the messenger, then glanced at Renn beside him.
Standing on the other side, Kapdo frowned and said, "It might be another spatial passage. A Sub-plane on the verge of collapse could have more than one Plane Passage."
"This plane's area isn't small. It's possible for a second or even third Plane Passage to appear. We just don't know where that Plane Passage leads?"
Kapdo carefully sensed for a moment longer, then his expression turned somewhat grim.
"There are unpleasant auras to the east and south. Though I don't know what they are, they're definitely not good news. It seems we have opponents this time, Renn."
Renn hadn't expected unknown enemies to suddenly appear. This wasn't good news.
"First, focus on relocating your tribe members as quickly as possible."
"Yes, Lord!"
Montoya followed Ross's example and addressed Renn as "Lord."
"The White Wolf Tribe has already found its own hope and will not follow the Grand Elder to the east."
Montoya approached the messenger and stated his decision.
Having made his decision, Montoya had no intention of changing it. The unknown eastern passage held no appeal for him.
"Chieftain Montoya, are you rebelling?"
Upon hearing Montoya's reply, the messenger became extremely furious. It had been many years since such a situation had occurred. This was a betrayal of the Sacred Mountain, and they would never allow it to happen.
"Betrayal?"
"The Sacred Lord is dead. Who am I betraying?"
"I pledged loyalty to the Sacred Lord, not to you. You don't represent the Sacred Mountain!"
"The warriors of the White Wolf are not to be slandered by the likes of you!"
As Montoya spoke, a powerful aura erupted from him. Renn had just given him a recovery potion, and his originally minor injuries were almost completely healed.
"Chieftain Montoya, you!"
The Sacred Mountain messenger trembled with rage. Just as he was about to take action, his attendants hurriedly restrained him, and the group left the White Wolf Tribe in disarray.
"Why stop me? I need to teach that traitor a lesson, to show him the consequences of betraying the Sacred Mountain!"
The messenger's attendant felt extremely helpless but could only offer soothing words.
"Sir, with the Sacred Lord's demise, the White Wolf Tribe's betrayal is a fact. The White Wolf Chieftain's strength is at the Elder Level. You are no match for him. If a fight broke out, we wouldn't leave the White Wolf Tribe alive."
"Let's return to the Sacred Mountain first, report the White Wolf's rebellion, and let the elders decide!"
Hearing his attendant's words, the messenger snapped back to reality. He had just been provoking an Elder Level powerhouse.
Wiping the cold sweat from his forehead, the messenger glanced fearfully at the White Wolf Tribe not far away.
"You're right. Let's return to the Sacred Mountain first and let the elders sanction the White Wolf."
The Sacred Mountain's messenger came and went in a hurry, not causing much impact on the busy White Wolf Tribe.
"Lord, all White Wolf Knights have been dispatched to notify tribe members in villages and towns. The members in White Wolf City can depart soon."
"Lord, how should we deal with the Sacred Mountain?"
Renn looked at the distant tall mountain peak. He now knew that atop that peak lay the ruling power of this Sub-plane: the Sacred Mountain.
Gold Rank strength was referred to as Elder Level in this world, and the Sacred Mountain had thirteen elders and one powerful Sacred Lord.
But that Sacred Lord was already dead.
"With the world's destruction imminent, since the Sacred Mountain's elders have decided to place their hopes on the eastern Plane Passage, they won't have the energy to meddle in our affairs."
"Focus on gathering your tribe members and relocating the tribe. Take all the resources here that can be moved."
"Yes, Lord!"
Renn had already subdued one of the three major tribes and didn't want to let the remaining two slip away.
He turned his gaze toward the other two plains.
