214: Avant's Dream
After acquiring the Green Grass Plane, besides arranging for Wayne to lead the First Legion to garrison it, Reyn also planned to send Johnny to lead an engineering team to rebuild the Green Grass Plane.
Additionally, the farmland in the Green Grass Plane needed to be repaired and upgraded, and the seeds sown would be the super seeds upgraded by Dora.
According to Reyn's thinking, a place as small as the Green Grass Plane could comfortably support a population of around a hundred thousand people. The remaining population should be migrated to the Red River Territory.
However, because it is currently winter and the weather is bitterly cold, making it difficult to receive a large influx of people, Reyn planned to wait until next spring when preparations here were complete before starting the migration.
"Let Johnny and Bar first organize the Green Grass Plane. If we can get the Green Grass Plane in good shape, it can produce a significant amount of resources!"
Due to the influence of its unique planar laws, the Green Grass Plane enjoys a perpetual spring-like climate with no winter. Crops sown there can be harvested three times a year. Once the upgrades are complete, the yield per acre will definitely surpass that of the Red River Valley.
"Perfect timing! A batch of labor force that was idle during winter can now be deployed!"
Reyn arranged the construction tasks for the Green Grass Plane with Fornal and even personally took Fornal, Bar, and a few others on a tour of the Green Grass Plane.
Because the current winter is much colder than before, some projects in the Red River Territory had to be halted for the season. Johnny had initially thought he would have less work and could rest a bit, but he didn't expect Reyn to find him another major task.
Not many days later, the Green Grass Plane welcomed a large-scale contingent, drawing curious onlookers from the local natives.
Several days earlier, their former masters had told them that Green Grass City would welcome a new ruler.
Soon after, many people saw a divine figure riding a White Wolf flying across the sky. Wherever he passed, all the natives knelt and worshipped.
Not long after, they learned that their new master was that divine figure who had flown across the sky riding the sacred White Wolf beast.
The First Legion led by Wayne made the natives of Green Grass City tremble with fear, while Reyn, who came to inspect the Green Grass Plane, made these natives worship him fanatically.
Fifteen-year-old Avant, just a month ago, was still toiling in the fields with his parents in his village, but back then, he had absolutely no desire to farm.
Most of the grain his whole family, including his parents, worked so hard to grow would be taken away by the noble lords, leaving them only with enough rations to avoid starvation. Was such land even worth farming?
Every day, Avant fantasized about driving away those noble lords and leading the villagers in farming carefree, with no one able to take away the fruits of their labor.
Unexpectedly, a few days ago, half of his fantasy came true. Those detestable, greedy nobles had left for some unknown reason. Before Avant, who thought he had been liberated, could even rejoice, he saw new nobles arriving.
After seeing the White Wolf flying across the sky, Avant was deeply captivated. He had never imagined there were people in the world who could fly, and that such a powerful-looking sacred beast could be ridden.
The villagers all knelt and worshipped the White Wolf Divine Man, but only Avant made a decision in his heart: in the future, he would become that kind of person too. He would also become someone who could fly and ride a majestic sacred beast.
Later, Avant saw the newly arrived nobles tear down their dilapidated thatched huts and build larger, more luxurious houses for the village. The nobles who had managed them before had never lived in such good houses, and now these houses were actually being built for them to live in.
Avant's family was also allocated new farming tools, new seeds, and someone came to the village to teach them how to farm to produce more grain.
Avant didn't listen to a single word of it. He only remembered one name: their ruler, the master of the Green Grass Plane, that flying divine man named Reyn, Reyn Derrick.
"You're not yet sixteen?"
"Then you can go to school to learn to read and write. There's a newly built school in Green Grass City. If you want to go, you can study there."
A single sentence from the newly arrived noble made Avant's eyes light up.
"Can I learn the skill to fly there?"
"The skill to fly?"
"Of course, as long as you have the talent, you can even learn the skill to fly."
"Then I'll go!"
And so, Avant left the village where he had lived for fifteen years, embarking on his first long journey alone to Green Grass City... Dragon Peak, Golden Hall.
"Well, Your Majesty Olivia, do you still doubt my capabilities?"
Matthew, his eyes gleaming with an unusual light, looked at the Red Dragon Queen, Olivia.
"I didn't expect... you truly surprise me, human!"
"No, you can no longer be considered human now."
Olivia gazed intently at Matthew. This trophy Zelia had brought back from the Cold Wind Territory kept surprising her.
Beside them, Zelia had smoothly broken through to the third stage of the Legendary realm, the Law Enhancement Stage. The next step was to comprehend a Law Domain and become an Extreme Realm King.
Zelia's breakthrough was related to Matthew.
"The effects brought by Ancient Knowledge are truly extraordinary, Your Majesty. Knowledge is power!"
"For you to break through to the Extreme Realm King domain is not difficult for My God. As long as you can help My God with a small matter, you can achieve your wish."
"A small matter? Dealing with the Demon God Cult is no small matter. I will consider your request. You may leave now."
"Very well, Your Majesty. I hope you will consider it carefully."
Matthew did not persist and turned to leave.
Zelia, who had just completed her breakthrough, looked at Olivia with some concern.
"Olivia, recently, spatial rifts connecting to the Chaos Demon Abyss have appeared in large numbers. Could it be that the Four Demon Gods of Chaos have truly awakened?"
"Awakened? Whether they are even alive is questionable, let alone awakened!"
Olivia dismissed the idea.
"Those spatial rifts were caused by the recent Spatial Storm turbulence. The scale and intensity of the Spatial Storm surging from the depths of the Boundless Star Sea this time were relatively large, so the impact is naturally significant."
"The Demon God aura on that chosen one likely comes from a Great Demon Lord deep within the Chaos Demon Abyss who is on the verge of becoming a god. The Chaos Demon Abyss is immensely powerful. Countless tens of thousands of years have passed since the Ancient War. It's not impossible for a Great Demon nearing godhood to emerge."
Olivia shared her speculation.
"If he were truly a chosen one of the Four Demon Gods of Chaos, his aura wouldn't be this weak. Moreover, if he were truly a chosen one of the Four Demon Gods, why would he want to deal with the Demon God Cult?"
"That fellow's words cannot be trusted. However, he does have some means, actually obtaining some ancient inheritance from that unknown entity in the Chaos Demon Abyss."
"The secret arts created by the Gods of antiquity were incredibly powerful. Perhaps we can find an opportunity for a breakthrough from him. Furthermore, we can use him to cause some trouble for those Demon God Cultists."
"Since that fellow wants to deal with the Demon God Cult, I'll give him a hand. I'll also let that Trickster Crow know the consequences of provoking me, Olivia."
Zelia was still somewhat worried. She always felt something was off about Matthew, harboring an indescribable aversion to him. And as time passed, this aversion grew stronger.
"Both the Chaos Demon Abyss and the Demon God Cult are not to be trifled with. Those Chaos Lawss are too corrosive. Won't it be too dangerous for us to deal with them?"
"There is certainly some danger, but it's fine. I can handle it!"
The Red Dragon Queen confidently raised her head, her fiery red hair flowing in the wind.
