38: Caputo awakens

Time rewinds a few hours.

In the temporary workshop, Cecilia was analyzing and researching the blood of the magic wolf formula.

Suddenly, she felt a powerful magical fluctuation.

"Grandpa?"

The familiar magical fluctuations made Cecilia very excited, and she immediately flew to the next room where Kapdo was recuperating.

Kapdo's magic power surged violently, throwing the quilt covering him to one side, and faint red auras were forced out of his body by the surging magic power.

"The evil god's aura has been forced out; Grandpa is about to wake up!"

Cecilia stared at Kapdo nervously. Although it wasn't the first time she had witnessed this scene, she was still very worried.

As time passed, the faint red aura emanating from Kapdo's body gradually decreased until it finally disappeared.

"Cough! Cough! Cough!"

A violent coughing sound suddenly echoed in the room. After coughing, Kapdo laboriously opened his eyes.

"Grandpa, you're finally awake."

"Little Cecilia missed you so much, Grandpa."

Cecilia threw herself into Kapdo's arms, embracing the newly awakened Kapdo and crying bitterly.

"It's alright, little Cecilia, it's alright."

Newly awakened, Kapdo was still a little dazed, but upon seeing Cecilia in his arms, he immediately regained his spirits and gently comforted Cecilia.

"I was careless this time. I didn't expect that evil god statue to still retain the residual will of the evil god after being sacrificed by the Fel Orcs."

"Little Cecilia, how long have I been unconscious this time? Where is this?"

Kapdo looked at the furnishings in the room and knew that the room he was in was not an ordinary place.

Cecilia cried for a while before stopping her tears and began to tell Kapdo about the current situation.

"Grandpa, you've been unconscious for half a month. This is the room Big Brother Reyn arranged for you. We've been recuperating in Big Brother Reyn's territory for the past half-month."

"Who is Big Brother Reyn?" Kapdo asked, somewhat puzzled.

"Big Brother Reyn is the noble who fought the Fel Orcs. He is the Baron of Red River Territory."

"Big Brother Reyn annihilated that outgoing Fel Orcs squad and then returned to the Fel Orcs camp. It was right then that you, Grandpa, were impacted by the evil god's power and fell into a coma."

"I couldn't take care of you, Grandpa, alone in the Black Forest. I happened to encounter Big Brother Reyn returning, so I asked for his help, and he brought you, Grandpa, back to Red River Territory."

"I had no other choice then, but I didn't expect Big Brother Reyn to be so kind, unlike the other nobles we've met before. He's taken great care of me these past two weeks and even arranged for someone to specifically look after you, Grandpa."

"Fortunately, we met Big Brother Reyn then, otherwise, Grandpa, we would have been in big trouble this time."

Cecilia had an excellent impression of Reyn and kept speaking highly of him to Kapdo.

"Is that so?"

"Is this Baron really that good?"

Kapdo was a little skeptical.

"However, no matter what, he did help a lot this time. Otherwise, when I fell into a coma, little Cecilia, you really wouldn't have been able to cope."

Kapdo said, rummaging through his dimensional bag.

"By the way, little Cecilia, where is my staff?"

Cecilia hesitated for a moment before replying:

"When I asked Big Brother Reyn for help, he didn't trust me much and asked me to hand over the staff to him for safekeeping. The staff is still with him now."

"And at that time, to get his help, I promised him either your magic potions, Grandpa, or that you, Grandpa, would refine a batch of magic potions for him as repayment."

Kapdo glanced at Cecilia, who was bowing her head.

"It's right to ask for compensation; it would be problematic if he asked for nothing in return."

"However, this Baron is quite vigilant; he doesn't seem like an easy person to deal with!"

Kapdo didn't develop any goodwill towards Reyn because of Cecilia's words. He had seen too many hypocritical nobles, and Cecilia was still young and easily deceived by the nobles' disguised appearances.

But he also didn't discourage Cecilia. Sometimes, only after personal experience can one truly understand and remember the lesson forever.

Thump! Thump! Thump!

Three knocks on the door interrupted Kapdo and Cecilia.

"Who is it?"

"It's me, Cecilia. I heard Master Kapdo woke up, so I came to check."

Hearing the familiar voice, Cecilia didn't hesitate and got up to open the door.

"Big Brother Reyn!"

"Cecilia, Master Kapdo is awake?"

"Yes!"

Cecilia stepped aside, and Reyn saw Kapdo half-lying on the bed. Kapdo also saw him.

Kapdo carefully looked at the young man in front of him. The vigorous spirit emanating from him was very strong.

Combined with Reyn's handsome face and his clean attire, which was distinctly different from the flashy clothes of other nobles, Kapdo's first impression of Reyn was quite good.

"Hello, Master Kapdo, I am Reyn Derrick, Baron of Rage Bear Territory, and the lord of this territory. It's a pleasure to meet you, and I hope you recover soon."

"Greetings to you, Baron Reyn."

Kapdo was neither overly enthusiastic nor overly cold, responding politely to Reyn.

"I've already heard from little Cecilia about your help to us. I am very grateful for that, and I will settle the compensation Cecilia promised you as soon as possible."

"There's no rush, Master Kapdo. Your recovery is the most important thing. We can discuss the rest later."

"I came here just to see you, Master Kapdo."

As Reyn was speaking, another voice came from outside the room.

"Lord, I'm here!"

Kapdo and Cecilia looked at Reyn.

"It's Yiven, I called him," Reyn explained.

"Come in, Yiven."

Yiven carefully carried two staffs into the room.

"Lord, I brought what you asked for."

"Put the items down. Thank you for your trouble. You may go now, Yiven."

"Yes, Lord!"

Yiven carefully exited the room, and Reyn handed the two staffs he brought to Cecilia.

"This is the staff I took from Cecilia back then. It was for safety, just in case, so I temporarily kept it."

"During this time, Cecilia and I have gotten along well. Cecilia is a kind and intelligent good girl, and both Master Kapdo and Cecilia are mages from the kingdom's orthodox academy, so I don't think there will be any safety concerns."

"This staff should be returned to its rightful owner!"

Cecilia subconsciously took back the staff Reyn handed her, then looked at her grandpa.

Kapdo skillfully put his staff back into his dimensional bag and looked at Reyn again.

"Baron Reyn, you are indeed as Cecilia said, somewhat different from other nobles."

"Master Kapdo, you flatter me."

After Reyn returned the staff, Kapdo's attitude towards him improved significantly, and the two began to chat casually, with Cecilia occasionally interjecting.

The atmosphere in the room began to become harmonious, especially after Kapdo learned that Reyn was also a mage, his attitude towards Reyn became even more amiable.

Reyn took the opportunity to ask Kapdo about many problems he encountered while practicing the Basic Meditation Method, and Kapdo was happy to answer Reyn.

Kapdo was indeed a High-Rank Mage; Cecilia's explanation of the same problems was far less clear and concise than Kapdo's, and Reyn's understanding was also deeper.

At the same time, Reyn could quickly understand everything Kapdo said, which made Kapdo highly praise Reyn's mage talent, and both sides enjoyed the process of imparting knowledge.

After chatting for a while, Reyn brought up an important question he had come to ask.

"Master Kapdo, actually, I have another very important question to ask you this time, but it's not about mage cultivation. I hope you can understand!"

"What is it, Reyn? Speak!"

"There's a Silver Rank Shadow Leopard roaming near my territory. I wonder if you, Master Kapdo, know about this magical beast?"

"Shadow Leopard?"

Kapdo thought for a moment, then said, "I know about this magical beast. It's a unique magical beast of the Black Mountain Range in the Northern Territory."

"Yes, it's good that you know, Master Kapdo. I want to ask you how to deal with this magical beast?"

Reyn placed the key to solving the problem on Kapdo, this peak Silver Rank High-Rank Mage.
